I saw a clip recently from Ringo telling the story of seeing George for the last time. George was terribly ill and in the hospital in Switzerland bedridden. Ringo says to George, "You know I love you, but I've got to go to Boston. My Daughter's having surgery for a brain tumor." George replied, "Do you want me to go with you?"

@Wendy Williams People, there is one one God, the True God. There is Heaven and there is Hell. It doesn't matter what we " believe " or what we " think " or what we " feel ". And Christ is THE only way to Heaven. Can all the other world religions be wrong and there is only ONE way? Yes. It doesn't matter what we believe, it's what God says. What gives me the right to say this? Because I have experienced it firsthand. And it changed me instantly and it changed my life. I don't share the details of my experience much or with just anyone. But, now, I truly love everyone and care for them, so I plant a seed. That is my purpose, that is why I am still in this world. God is not finished with me yet. That is the only reason I am still here in this world. I really don't expect many will believe me and most will probably attack me for saying such things. That is the way it is. I can only plant a seed and point to the light while those of this world try to lead to the darkness thru lies as they boost egos and arrogance. So why am I saying this here on this site now? I don't actually know the time and place I should say anything. I only feel that it should be said here and now. Maybe just one lost person will see this and allow their heart to be opened and change their life. I love music and I loved the Beatles and I especially loved George Harrison probably because I have played guitar since age 12 in 1962. I did not know George Harrison, I did not know his heart. But I was concerned about him for some reason, some feeling. I hope and pray that he is with Our Lord in Heaven. As I do everyone who has passed. I lost my eldest son on April 6th, 2016. I am certain he is with Christ in Heaven. Please, before you attack me in some way, take a few minutes and think. I just felt that I needed to share this with you, even if only one hears it. Even one out of thousands is precious. Take care everyone.

@Jon Smyth I don't understand what you're saying. What did I say that offended you? I professed my belief in God and Jesus Christ. I never said anything that would disrespect our Military, nor would I ever! Please reread my post and get back with me. Thanks.

Your entitled to George, for you. That' s great. But for me: "PAUL McCartney"!!
Always has been my favorite Beetle. As far as
George Harrison,---hadn' t seen that interview before.
I don' t recall seeing him in any interviews 4 SEVERAL
      decades. It is troubling to
C what long-term drug damage can do, ("right or wrong really no difference")!?!? Um!
      Many things he said just
      sounded like he was high
and not making sense. He agreed 2 sing a few songs,
but sad when he even had to admit he couldn' t remember his own songs.
Didn' t he pass in 2001? Wasn' t this video in 1997?
For being the youngest of the Beetles, he appears to have lived very hard....

George changed my life at 16 with " All things must pass" . I was a teenager in a man's body. I was on my own, living in my beat up car. I left because of the physical abuse. So on the day I got my drivers license I was gone forever. Working at night going to school in the day.
I laid there alone in the back seat trying to sleep, looking out at the stars , listening to the 8 track and it slowly came to me. I so scared that I would be forced to go to Vietnam. For me, I came to realize the good will pass and the bad will pass. We are he for a very short time and just be a good person. Forget politics, religion, money and greed. What you need will come across your path in life when you need it. Be blessed everyone. I never was drafted. I don't know you but yet I love you.

Same vintage as you. George was my fave right out of the gate; just something drew me to him instead of the others. A few years after they became known in the US, I had a poster of them hanging on the wall in my bedroom. My Dad made me take it down as I'm sure he thought they would be a bad influence on me. HAH! If he only knew who and what George was and would become, he might have thought differently about it.

Called when we got to the coffee shop, she answered and said " he was not doing to well today and could we reschedule", said sure we are on the island for another week, when we called back she said he passed. Very nice they were too these two strangers who took a shot in the dark to meet them!

AS a little boy born in 1967, The Beatles were my guide, their music actually raised me as most of the time my parents were preoccupied with all of their friends, which was fine, as I was surrounded by hippies. For some reason, I was the house DJ by the age of four and the Beatles albums, the artwork and the words taught me how to be a human being. To this day, I am a little bit of Paul, a little bit Ringo, a bit of John, but a lot of George in my spirit. This man was a beautiful man in far too many ways to even comprehend.

I too was born in 1967. So many things happened that year, there have been documentaries made about it. My Mom always had the radio on. I soaked all of it in from a baby and became a musician. We used to listen to my Mom's Beatle 45's and I knew those songs were special then. To listen to them now as a 54 year old musician - it's just still so amazing to try to get my mind around the chord progressions and the arrangements. It's what I love about music. People classify music, try to quantify what pop music is, what rock music is. But when its crafted from the soul, its really something human.

I still have the original "All Things Must Pass" vinyl box set, great selection of songs. George is so articulate in this video, and shares things about fame to make it easier to understand. His comments on Elvis are understanding and insightful.
George's comments also apply to those of us who did not have fame in his sense, but still seek what life offers--those moments of bliss and peace, or shelter in the storm.
His songs, like the Beatles and those they inspired, were the soundtrack that began a few years into my childhood and have lasted all my life. I remember first seeing the Beatles on Black and White TV, on Ed Sullivan in the 60's, and young at the time when all kids my age had buzz cuts, I laughed at their hair.
What amazed me was how their music evolved and became the foundation for album art and so many niches of American and International rock. And George's music, and the Beatles, crossed the "generation gap", my parents who grew up in the Great Depression and WWII and grooved on Glen Miller and later Elvis, also loved the Beatles when my oldest brother started grooving on them.
So wonderful seeing this video. Even hearing George speak, a great calm spreads over me, he teaches as he speaks, and you can tell he also learns as he lives. I know his spirit has been added to the heavens and is an influence, as are my parents and brothers (RIP), in our lives and bring light in the dark, and shade in the heat of the day.

I saw Chicago live in 1974 and in 1975. My life was altered in a VERY positive way. I miss Terry 😢.

Brilliant man and so interesting to listen to him. Our loss, here on earth. George Harrison's music will live on. And thank you for sharing this program, he was so at ease and I was captivated by every word he spoke. I'm so sorry he had to leave. He was beautiful.

George's social activism was selfless and as a result, garnered much goodwill in the world that helped starving people. A man that put what was important for those in need ahead of anything else. George Harrison will be remembered as the greatest Beatle for his zest for the humanities. This show is a masterpiece that will be saved for humanity.

George was my favorite and only Beatle. It was only as an adult I began to appreciate the other 3 ! And he had a great sense of what was important. We miss you George !

George did not suffer fools gladly. He was a very deep, kind, gentle person, and extremely talented. I regret never meeting and entering into conversation with him because he could have taught me so much. He is badly missed.
