Hi Christopher, thank you for the totally awesome view on Boulder real estate. I will keep an eye on your videos. You have THE WAY to keep your audience's attention! It will be awesome to view some of your videos on Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs, and other eastern slope real estate for singles:) I have been on the Western slope for the last 30 years. I moved to Denver/Aurora and looked for some safe and affordable housing for singles in this area. Your lungs will adjust to altitude with time:) Breathe out longer than you breathe in:)
Thanks for making a memorable video. You stand out from all other videos with your frank and personal views at the end. I visited Boulder in early April 2024 and found it a lovely place. You are all lucky to have such lovely nature right outside your doorsteps. The residents of Boulders should be proud to have you in their midst. Well done.
Another helpful video from Chris!🎉 Thank you! Just letting everyone know, we reached out to him to hunt for our first home in Boulder, and his expertise made all the difference. He was so responsible and knowledgeable throughout the process. Thanks to his help, we found our dream condo. Highly recommend his services to anyone looking for a home!
Thank you so much Siqiao! It was a pleasure working with you and Ming and I am SO glad everything worked out wonderfully for you both! I am always here for you anytime you need anything at all.
This is a great video! I live in Boulder currently and yeah, I’ll say as a working middle class guy I feel pretty isolated from the rest of society who really enjoy living here. I love Pearl Street and the community down town but I can rarely go there because it’s so expensive to access the things i want to do, I save more staying home lol. I like the hiking I try to do that as much as I can but unless your a student at CU or are financially really well off you too may feel the same isolation as I. Maybe this is a problem in all well off cities these days but thought I’d share what I see❤️✌🏼
A major negative about Boulder is the socially distant culture. The culture is individualistic- going up into the mountains, working out, doing activities but not really hanging out. There is very little social vibe or scene especially over the holidays. I agree with another commenter regarding the food which I find to be bland and high priced coupled with bad service even at the high end restaurants.
Skobuffs!! Used to live in Boulder and it was GORG but after graduating unless you’re super rich, a (potentially homeless) hippie or a college student this is not ideal for the average person. There is no in between! I used to work at the sundown saloon and the tennis club out there. Got to see the best of both worlds. I love seeing people’s videos from CO tho!! Makes me happy haha loved your video 😊
“You don’t have to have traumatizing nights out in the driveway chopping ice with your Dad.” An oddly specific sales pitch! 😂 Great video. I like the Boulder thrift stores, which are loaded with high-end sports gear, musical instruments, craft supplies, and clothes. Also, the Chautauqua is unique, beautiful and fun.
Lived there for a few years for college. The huge thing for me was the food scene. I mean, yeah, the bike paths were phenomenal but a lot of cities are catching up with that now. Would be sad to see the Dark Horse go because I have never found any place like it elsewhere, but when I think about it, I didn't really frequent the place so never grew attached to it. Boulder is volatile in that way. A lot of my favorite places that existed came and went just during the short period I was there.
Thanks for sharing. Always interesting to hear about others' experiences. Given that volatility, everyone seems to have a pretty different experience of the city in a variety of ways.
The Marshall Fire on December 30, 2021 burned through Superior AND Louisville. I think Louisville actually suffered more damage than Superior. It was a highly traumatic event.
I went to school in boulder. Its lively. Food culture there is crazily amazing. But moving there unless you are a student or rich again you will notice certain disparities. Again it is a very cliqueish town. There are a lot of bars and so ial events yo attend so meeting people is easy. Making friends? Well. Good luck
Something that you didn't mention about the Marshall Fire is that those houses that burned down were "green" houses.. "Green" stuff is more $$$.. They do that to keep the poor out.. I live in Denver and I have looked at a couple places in Boulder.. When I asked about crime I was told multiple times that the one bad crime is that bicycles get stolen a lot.. When you mentioned dating I have also heard that people in Boulder are really snooty.. That also goes with the friendly, laid back vibe.. I notice a lot of people that won't even look at you... If friendly is being socially distant then so be it.. I have noticed that in Boulder, Denver, and I am not sure about Colorado Springs (I haven't been there enough to know)..
First rule of video making: no eating on camera. Doesn't bother everyone, but causes a certain percentage to stop watching, especially those of us with misophonia. Good video otherwise. 🙂

You are very welcome!

Walked by these homes so many times

“Doesn’t have any parking” cuts to shot of driveway 😂
Great video
Thanks!
Pro: it's clean
Con: it's cold

10 square miles surrounded by reality. Lived there for a bit and moved. Not worth the cost or the culture.
