This is a great video! I live in Boulder currently and yeah, I’ll say as a working middle class guy I feel pretty isolated from the rest of society who really enjoy living here. I love Pearl Street and the community down town but I can rarely go there because it’s so expensive to access the things i want to do, I save more staying home lol. I like the hiking I try to do that as much as I can but unless your a student at CU or are financially really well off you too may feel the same isolation as I. Maybe this is a problem in all well off cities these days but thought I’d share what I see❤️✌🏼

I went to school in boulder. Its lively. Food culture there is crazily amazing. But moving there unless you are a student or rich again you will notice certain disparities. Again it is a very cliqueish town. There are a lot of bars and so ial events yo attend so meeting people is easy. Making friends? Well. Good luck

A major negative about Boulder is the socially distant culture. The culture is individualistic- going up into the mountains, working out, doing activities but not really hanging out. There is very little social vibe or scene especially over the holidays. I agree with another commenter regarding the food which I find to be bland and high priced coupled with bad service even at the high end restaurants.
I'm a Cameroonian journalist hoping to study at the University of Colorado Boulder and am not sure if this is reasonably close to the CU Boulder campus?
Yes it is! South Boulder as a whole is very close to campus and has many students there, in general anywhere between a 5-minute bike ride in the close-by Martin Acres to about 20 at the southern-most tip of Rolling Hills. I suggest Martin Acres for proximity, but Table Mesa, Rolling Hills, and the Tantra Lake side of Majestic Heights are all pretty good options.

Of course! For a well-run 2-bed apartment closer to campus, probably around $1,300 - $1,500 per room. You can probably go a little lower, though you risk ending up with a shady/low-effort property management company that can cost you more money/time/hassle that you are saving. It can certainly go higher if you push into more luxury apartments and maybe a little lower, but still good quality, if you go further from campus. But for student-oriented, campus-proximity apartments, around $1,300 - $1,500 per bed for 2-bedroom. Houses will run a little closer to $900 - $1,100 per bed for a 3-bed.

You are all lucky to have such lovely nature right outside your doorsteps. The residents of Boulders should be proud to have you in their midst. Well done.

Something that you didn't mention about the Marshall Fire is that those houses that burned down were "green" houses.. "Green" stuff is more $$$.. They do that to keep the poor out.. I live in Denver and I have looked at a couple places in Boulder.. When I asked about crime I was told multiple times that the one bad crime is that bicycles get stolen a lot.. When you mentioned dating I have also heard that people in Boulder are really snooty.. That also goes with the friendly, laid back vibe.. I notice a lot of people that won't even look at you... If friendly is being socially distant then so be it.. I have noticed that in Boulder, Denver, and I am not sure about Colorado Springs (I haven't been there enough to know)..

Lived there for a few years for college. The huge thing for me was the food scene. I mean, yeah, the bike paths were phenomenal but a lot of cities are catching up with that now. Would be sad to see the Dark Horse go because I have never found any place like it elsewhere, but when I think about it, I didn't really frequent the place so never grew attached to it. Boulder is volatile in that way. A lot of my favorite places that existed came and went just during the short period I was there.
Thanks for sharing. Always interesting to hear about others' experiences. Given that volatility, everyone seems to have a pretty different experience of the city in a variety of ways.
