I made the mistake of putting my cards in the top loader without the sleeves, then I googled this midway through. This is very good and handy knowledge to know, I corrected my mistake, lucky the cards I have arent worth much, but always good to know regardless :)
Thank you for this great video. Something I like to do is put my toploaders in the bags Ultra Pro makes for their one touch magnetic cases. That way you don’t have to store them upside down to prevent particles from getting in. It also ads another layer of protection against moisture and other such things. However, although the bags are crystal clear, they do add a fourth layer of reflective material which may slightly diminish the displayability of the card.
I use a toploader then double sleeve putting an inner clear sleeve then flipping a regular outer sleeve around the inner one. I like having the seam of the outer sleeve facing up.
I've been using perfect fit+dragon sheild then top loader. However i didn't think about using toploaders inside down. I have been reversing every othe sleeve to make it as sealed as possible. Also great tip about sticky notes for pull tabs
If memory serves, i have a 1st edition base set charizard in a toploader BUT without a sleeve. Gotta dig it out but i remember there was already a scratch on the holo 😢
what two types of sleeves did you use, i use vault x and ultra pro but i cant get them to double sleeve. im asking because its humid where i live and im using desiccants in my bulk box and binders now because im having a slight bending problem.
Thank you for video. Just started collecting pokemon cards for my daughter. I have a great high end binder that is ringless and zippered that you side load your cards in. I put the cards in a ultra pro penny sleeve that is pvc/acid free and then side load in the binder. The other day I went to get a closer look at a card and when I took it out the binder and went to remove from the penny sleeve, the card was stuck a lil bit in the ultra pro sleeve. Is this normal or a danger to my cards? Thanks
Thankyou for this video dude! always loved pokemon games been recently wanted to start collecting cards very informative I would’ve screwed up so much if I didn’t watch this and I have clinical ocd so it would’ve been bad if I didn’t watch this
Double sleeve is absolutely necessary inside toploader if it's gonna be stored inside a top loader binder ? Or sleeve with pull tab only then top loader then binder are perfectly ok ? Because with double sleeve it's really big inside each pocket
What penny sleeves, sleeves and toploaders do you recommend? I have toploaders which have a way to big gap for my pokemon cards and the heavily slide around..
I tend to buy Ultra Pro products because they’re available where I live. I like the quality too. As for the top loaders, try double-sleeping your cards if you’re worried about the movement
I pulled a Lugia card atm and so happy but I went to put it directly on a top loader with no sleeve first. It's a new toploader no spec of dusts inside. My card sat there for a good few minutes and half an hour later, I removed the card and put it back again on the deck packaging so that I'll store it again on a toploader when I already have the sleeve. Do you think my card is already damaged from what I did? (New to card collecting here)
@sleevenocardbehind Thanks for the response! I was really worried about what I did in a couple of minutes and I got pulled away with excitement upon pulling that card lmao
The double sleeve method is the best method in my opinion but I’ve had some bad luck recently with cards that I’ve double-sleeved, primarily due to the first “exact fit” sleeve, not thinking about removing the cards one day until I finally bought into grading... In your opinion, which brand/size of sleeve have you had the most success with when double sleeving your cards prior to top-loading? I’ve used the Ultrapro clear deck-protector sleeves as my secondary sleeve and they’re great, I just need to find penny’s that aren’t the exact fits that will work with the Ultrapro’s
penny sleeves are great for toploaders but you have to be careful with perfect fits as they are very tight and can ruin edges and corners when inserting the card
@@ganjagobler yeah I stopped using them since this lol, the new surging sparks sleeves are pretty solid though. They actually have a clear front instead if that weird matt finish they were doing. I've been using VaultX sleeves
There are definitely brands that are clearer than others, but I think most of them come from the same few factories and should protect your cards just as well
@@sleevenocardbehind Ty for the fast reply and the video! Ngl TCGP finally filled a childhood dream to start collecting and I'm doing my best to take care of cards but there's so much take in so these videos help a shit ton
Brooooo..... dont put cards in the tights sleeves where the cards just fit!!!!! biggest no no!!! They bend to the shthouse and get stuck in those sleeves... trust me learnt the hard way..

If you get a clear dragon sleeve, it won’t move around like a penny sleeve
Good tip!

I believe I use Ultra Pro and Ultra Pro Pro Fit sleeves in this video

What size of sleeve, standard size or perfect fit?
Do I have to put a penny sleeve upside down if I’m using a top loader binder?
Completely optional

99% of my cards are sleeved once before going into a top loader. I haven't had any issues
@@sleevenocardbehind Oh that's good to know thx ! I'll go with that
Great video, thanks for making this only two minutes. Most people would have made this a 10 minute video just yapping

Your card is probably undamaged if the top loader wasn’t tossed around. I’m glad you’re waiting for a sleeve- smart idea!

I pretty much stick with ultra pro because they’re cheap and available where I live
Use a reseal able team bag to keep the card in the top loader, so much better than putting tape on the top.
Lol, maybe its fake. But why on earth did you use a 1st edition shadowless zard as your example card lmao
It’s fake 👍🏻
@@sleevenocardbehind would have been a real strong flex haha
What is expiration date of toploaders? How many years
Should I put my cards upside down in the perfect sleeve when I don't double sleeve them for the toploader?
No I wouldn’t advise this. If I understand your comment, then the unprotected side of the card would be against the bottom of the top loader
@sleevenocardbehind Yes, that's what I meant. That's what I shouldn't do, right?
@@enisha1337 I would avoid it

also sheets of cardboard are what i use for shipping and they are great to go around top loaders
is it ok to just sleeve the cards without a toploader and putting them into a album
As long as the card has a sleeve on it, it should be ok. Top loaders are for extra protection
Thanks
Are the sleeves sent with etbs okay to put into the top loaders? I sure hope so 😅
They’re good 👍🏻

I felt hearstroke when you put charizard without a sleeve inside of the toploader!! Even for an example. DONT DO IT, haha
Do use notched sleeves.
That poor Charizard
no perfect slevees on $ cards
Why’s that?
Perfect + penny is 100% fine I've been doing this for over a decade with 0 issues.
I agree but there’s a lot of people to claim that perfect fits hurt your cards… video idea? I should test it
@@sleevenocardbehind yes please
Perfect fits don't ruin your cards. It would be pretty counterintuitive otherwise
Overkill. Just use 1 penny sleeve, top loader, and team bag the top loader. DONE.
So many times I've had the card come with it sliding out the sleeve and toploader, you think they are getting 5 stars? Definitely not overkill
