Brief Itinerary:
Day 1: Today, our journey begins with a 40 km drive from Rohru to Janglik (9,415 ft). The winding mountain roads offer glimpses of rugged peaks and lush valleys, building anticipation as we reach Janglik after a 3-hour drive. Excitement fills the air, signaling the start of our wilderness adventure.
Day 2: With backpacks secured and spirits high, we embark on foot from Janglik to Dayara. The 7.5 km trek challenges our endurance as we traverse dense forests and winding trails. Each step reveals new scenery, from towering trees to open meadows. As we conquer Dayara, a sense of accomplishment washes over us.
Day 3: Today, we delve deeper into the Himalayas from Dayara to Litham, covering 5.9 km. The journey may be shorter, but it's equally challenging, with steep ascents and rocky terrain. Amidst physical exertion, we're captivated by nature's wonders - rare Himalayan flowers and distant bird calls. Reaching Litham, surrounded by towering peaks, reaffirms our journey's purpose.
Day 4: Our focus shifts to acclimatization as we hike 6.9 km to Chandranahan Lake. Gentle ascents to 13,020 ft offer breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and glacial lakes. Descending back to Litham, gratitude fills our hearts for the privilege of experiencing the Himalayas' raw beauty.
Day 5: The trek from Litham to Dhunda spans 4.6 km, presenting new challenges as we ascend to higher altitudes. Despite the arduous terrain, camaraderie among our group fuels our determination. Arriving at Dhunda, exhausted yet exhilarated, we're greeted by the towering Himalayan peaks.
Day 6: Today, we face our ultimate test, trekking 8.4 km from Dhunda to Manerang via Buran Pass. Negotiating rugged terrain and steep ascents, moments of pure bliss await atop the summit. As we descend to Manerang, weary but triumphant, we know we've achieved something extraordinary.
Day 7: With bittersweet emotions, we bid farewell to the mountains, trekking 7.15 km from Manerang to Barua. Each step brings us closer to civilization, yet our hearts are heavy with the memories of our Himalayan adventure.
