Hi again! I tried again your instructions and guess what? I did it thanks to you! Now i have a brand new 1TB SSD to my laptop! Thank you very very much for helping us!
I did it! Great video (although it was hard to see what you were doing when you disconnected the battery). My new battery did not have the cord attached so I had to add that step, but all good. Very happy the machine is working again!
Glad it helped! Sorry it was a bit unclear at that stage - I've tried to ensure there is a better view of the more fiddly tasks in later videos I've produced.
I got a used Inspiron 13 5378 (i3-7100U) for $50 two years ago. As soon as I could I upgraded the RAM to 2 sticks of 8gb DDR4-2666 (Samsung M471A1K43DB1-CTD) for the price of one stick. I'm deal hunting for a 500gb to 1TB SSD now. Since I mainly write, use it for email, research & web browsing, 16gb is almost overkill. I can have many tabs open. I upgraded to maximum RAM to try to future proof and to help increase video memory. After an upgrade watching videos on it is a breeze. It's a great laptop and I expect to use it for 8 more years. I should probably make a video of the SSD replacement with replacing the CPU goo with Carbonaut (or equivalent).
Hi I have a Inspiron 13 5378 2 in 1 and need to replace the hard drive which hard-drive do I need and is it easy to replace? Also is all my information stored on this hard drive how can I try and retrieve this information? Sorry don’t really know to much about how they work but enjoy your videos none the less. B
@Naam mein kya rakha hai I used AOMEI it clone a 1TB HDD to 275 GB SSD. Once I swapped the HDD by SSD, the laptop booted alright. Everything came across fine. But after 15 minutes of use, it crashed with a blue screen. Now the system won't allow me to even run advance options (I get the screen but it does not go anywhere). What possibly could be wrong? I appreciate the feedback.
I mean, does it have a slot for additional drive? I previously had a laptop which has drive c and drive d, is it possible to do it in this laptop by installing an additional drive? Thanks

what kind of ssd we can use for Dell Inspiron 13 5378 ?
@@diegoandrechainachevarria3118 I used this one ---> Transcend 1TB SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5” SSD but I guess any SSD with SATA III 6 Gb/s would do the job.

Super helpful, thank you. Was wondering if you have a drive cloning process/tool you prefer?
Thanks. I used Acronis True Image normally.

Brilliant. I can do this, but need to a backup the existing Drive/Windows.
Hi Bruce how can I clone the SSD so I don't lose data on the old hard drive? Your video was very informative and I have just ordered my SSD. Thanks
Thanks. I use True Image to clone the contents.
Hello, how much is the storage capacity of your new SSD and what brand is it from? Thanks!
What type of SSD is best for it ?
Thanks for the video. I have the dell inspiron 13 5000 series. I’d assume it’s almost the same process?
Depends on the exact model - there are lots of different Inspiron 13 5000 laptops made over the years.
@@BrueComputing thanks for your reply. it's the p69g if that helps
Thank you, sir.
You're welcome, glad it helped.
many thanks! good video! easy to do!
Glad it helped!
Hello James ! if i need to upgrade to SSD nv me 1TB ,what size & brand i should go for ? pleas suggest me .
the laptop is same Inspiron 13 5378 2-in-1
Is There nvme support??
I have to ssd but want to keep hdd also.
Is it possible ??
How do you keep windows when installing the new SSD?
Either a clean install of Windows 10, or clone across from the old drive.
@@BrueComputing can you make a video of cloning Windows 10 from HDD to new SSD? thanks
@@markoilic9258 thanks Marko -can you please show the process for cloning.. many thanks
Is this the Dell i13-5378-A20C Sata III model? tks...
Boa noite! Amigo qual a marca e modelo desta chave que utilizou?
Hi Brue, I followed your instructions and successfully updated. The only challenge is that my old HDD is locked by BitLocker. Any suggestions?
If you're cloning from the old drive you'll need to decrypt it, clone to the new drive, and then re-encrypt it.
is it possible to keep both hard drives? SSD for operating system (better performance) and old hard drive for data storage?
Yes, that should work fine.
How do you disconnet the battery ,it seems a bit hard for me
what kind of ssd we can use for Dell Inspiron 13 5378 2-in-1 ?
It takes a standard SATA 2.5" SSD, like: amzn.to/32xIeZe
thank you
Does this have 2 slots one for SSD and other for HDD?
No, just a 2.5" SATA bay.
i have dell 7359, it uses a slim hdd, will any 2.5 ssd replace it??
Look to be a 7mm thick 2.5" HDD, so any 2.5" SATA SSD should work fine.
@@BrueComputing ok, Thanks
Could I install one 1 tb SSD sata with one 512 gb or 1tb SSD M.2 NVME 2280 in Dell Inspiron 13 5378 2 in 1?

Can we change the processor of a laptop?
Only by replacing the mainboard, which is rarely cost effective.
Whether sss and hdd can be placed
Can "dell inspiron 13 5378" have a partition drive? I have the same laptop. Thanks
You can divide the drive up into partitions, yes.
Or do you mean a cache drive, like Optane?
