I must say, this is one of the finest and most well done reviews of any tire I've seen so far on youtube. Got almost sold on these tires, and this video helped me save my money ( and possibly tour life ). Thanks a bunch

What an excellent review you did here ! And a perfect demonstration of the difference between tyre building technique ! Thx a lot for that.

So far my money is going on a new set of the Dunlop trailmax mission tires.
Heading for Baja in April so you still have a little time to change my mind Kyle.

Thanks for the review - legendary as usual ! I just purchased a set of Ax41’s this morning - can wait till they arrive.
I use to remember when Avon tyres were the leading edge. I suspect they don’t have the dollars these days to be truely innovative.

Hi Ian, thanks for watching and the kind words. Avon still makes some really great tires.

I know these are directional but I have to wonder if you reversed the direction on the front tire, if it might not be much better in that soft sandy terrain - I know, no one is going to test this but just suspect it would be better... Interesting offering from Avon in any case - much thanks for all you do!

Thanks for this review! I'm looking for a new set of 50/50 or 60/40 for upcoming season. Trekrider was in my list, so now I know that this tire can be acceptable ))) New Dunlops Trailmax mission seem to be the only better choice for my needs... Any chance you will review Mitas E-07?

      @chaparralmotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you for watching. The E-07+ test will be released next week and the E-10 will follow. The Dunlop TrailMax is a fantastic tire. I "tired to make it fail" and it just keep ticking! I like it a lot... - Kyle

@@chaparralmotorsports Thank you, Kyle! All your reviews for 70/30, 60/40, 50/50 tires are amazing, the real testing as needed to discover the tire character in different conditions and yes Dunlop TrailMax seems to be the real jack of the trades. Waiting impatiently for Mitas review, your opinion for E07+ (there's also Dakar version with enforced sidewalls) will be largely appreciated!

So what’s the best 50 50 tire for decent road use in your eyes then?
Watched most of your vids but can make my mind up??
I need a good road tire for fast road use but with decent grip in the trails!

Best tires at the moment, in my opinion, the Shinko E804 / E805 for the least expensive, the Motoz GPS for Longest Lasting, the Dunlop TrailMax Mission for best "street performance" for a 50/50 tire.

Can say I'm pretty disappointed..I was expecting a lot more from these tires.Im also curious about it though..I ride mostly in northern Canada and the type of riding is way different then your desert riding..Im wondering if that tire wouldn't preform better in our heavier wetter soil here..

I was unimpressed too and really thought they would have performed better or at least on-par with the Karoo 3 tires. I wish we had a wet patch of ground we were able to test in for wet performance. Thanks for watching! - Kyle

Did not get a chance to ride them in the wet... Bummer I know.

Great review. My least favorite 50/50 tire to date on my Tiger 800xc. Retired them early I hated them so much off-road, and mediocre on road. Mitas E-07 my fav off-road and Dunlop Trailmax Mission all-around. For people on a budget, Shinko 705 is better than the TrekRider. I’ve never tried the TrailRiders, but I won’t based on Avon’s TrekRider.

Great feedback. I too was "unimpressed" with these tires. Good news, for 2020 ALL Sizes of the Mitas E-07 will be back in production! And you are totally correct about the Mission and the Shinko! Thanks for watching. - Kyle
