People need to stop having certain expectations of Dany. That's the main problem. Then think just cause she's such an important character she has to behave like a saint. She's a Targaryen who is conquering in the way she wants to conquer. I happen to be a fan of this. I like that she's not miss goody two shoes coming to westeros to liberate the land and live happily ever after. She means business. Call it savage or cruel or mad. It's affective
I think you have misunderstood, people who don't like Dany (including myself) don't care if she is a saint or not. However, they care if her actions are consistent with what she says. She claims that she is some benevolent ruler who is there to liberate people but within moments she says that she is gonna burn them all if they don't follow her and bow down to her unconditionally. All she really cares about is to sit on a throne made of swords. There are few other main characters in the show who lie to "themselves" the way Daenerys does! IMO she makes for a very good and interesting villain, if the writers have the balls to make it happen ofcourse!

I'm 100% on Dany's side in this episode. I saw where she was coming from. She's the breaker of chains so of course she won't give people an option to become prisoners or slaves. She gave them the only options she could imo

Since George is a big fan of Dany, I know there are gonna be ton of comments about her being cruel and the mad queen and all that, but my question is, what did ya'll think was gonna happen? Dany always had the Dragons and she always had the Dothraki (even tho the ones in season one were mostly gone, they lead up to her getting a bigger Khalasar), I mean come on, what did you guys expect, those were her weapons since the start so did you think the show runners were just gonna say "Hey uh, lets just cut the use of the Dragons and Dothraki, yeah, lets just cut these". There is no other way she can use them when it comes story wise.Does she need to take caution with her actions? Random Human If she'd beheaded them, fans would still whine that she used Dothraki to execute men. She's not a swordswoman, so she couldn't do it herself without making a botch of it like Theon did back in Season 2, so her choice was to have a "foreigner" behead them, which the fans would have whined about, or have her dragon quickly roast them, which the fans whined about anyway.
Either way, she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't, but somehow Cersei is "badass" for murdering innocent civilians with wildfire all because she started a domino effect of fuckery because she was jealous of Margaery's control over Tommen. I really hate this fandom sometimes.

I'm just over his blind devotion to Cersei after she did the exact thing that he killed the Mad King for attempting to do. Plus, it's a TV show. The issue is she didn't kill soldiers loyal to Cersei she killed POW's - there is a world of moral difference between the two.

When did having an issue with killing unarmed people(POW's) become sexist? :S If it helps I have/had my problems with Stannis, Joffery, Robert Beratheon, Little finger, Jaime... i'm sorry i am not sure how many swinging dicks i have to mention before I get out of the sexist pigeonhole... To me an amoral act is just that regardless of whats between the offenders legs.
Don't forget Tywin (red wedding) Tyrion (wildfire) and Jon (battle of bastards.) Every major character has blood on their hands. Dany gets singled out. Read the comment sections of the other reaction videos. None of the above characters gets dragged for killing. The Tarleys refused to serve her or the Night's Watch. They forced her hand.
To some extent they did force her hand however she also didn't give them much of a choice, infact she gave them the choice that she had said 2 seconds before hand that she was not in westeros to do (Subjugation or death).
Tyrion and Jon are fine the examples you state are against armed enemy combatents who are actively engaged in hostilities the problem with Dany (or that I have at least) is the Tarleys where unarmed and had surrendered.
I expect Dany is singled out because maybe we as a whole GoT fan base expect better from her which in a roundabout way is kinda a compliment :) As i said though I find amoral acts amoral for what they are not who committed them, even lost a decent amount of respect for Tyrion with Tywin again maybe because I expect to much from him as a character because what he did is for damn sure understandable.
Its wierd because yes it is a double standard but at the same time people who are calling her out are also right to do so, coz murder be wrong.

The same ones chastising you for recognizing the badass nature of Dany and the burning of soldiers in S7E4 and this one with Tarlys were mostly the same ones complimenting Cersei for the blowing up of the Sept last year in S6E10. And one only has to go back and watch the many reactions on youtube to that episode and read the comments attached to those to see the truth of it. There is definitely a double standard when it comes to Dany and any other character in GoT.
That is most likely because we expect more from her as an audience, that said there are no characters currently in GoT except maybe Cersi and the mountain i would expect to murder unarmed POW's so theres taht to.

The note Arya finds is the one Sansa was forced to write home to Rob. About how Jeoffrey is the rightful king and her father is a traitor. Don't really know what use it will be, because it was written under threat of death. But I'm almost positive that's what it was.

I have to say that I am so happy to have found your reactions! I completely agree with you regarding Dany and her actions. This is war people and she needed to retaliate. Randall Tarley was no more honorable than anyone else on this show. I think he got what he deserved for betraying Olenna and House Tyrell. I also cheered when she burned those Lannister soldiers. What was she supposed to do? Hug them?! I like Jaime and Bronn but my fan loyalty remains with House Targaryen. It was time to show her enemies who she is...A dragon! I love your reactions :') Why did you not add in the part with Jon touching Drogon, though D: That was *huge*! Drogon only lets Daenerys touch him like that; Drogon basically turned into a pet; and after sniffing Jon! It's entirely possible that Drogon is recognizing Jon's Targaryen blood!

I'm with Dany on this one too. She gave them the choice to join her and they refused so they had to die. She can't just keep like 100 men prisoner, where is she gonna keep them? how will she feed them? who will guard them when she needs every possible man in her army fighting with her?
They couldn't just be sent off back to Kings Landing to regroup and attack again. They'd just die that way too, if they refused to fight again, does anyone really think Cersei would just be like "lol ok go home to your loving families and live in peace" ? FUCK NO. She'd execute them too, all possibilities bar joining Dany will end in definite death. Nothing wrong with what Dany did, they weren't exactly innocent men.
"Do something or die" is not a choice, its an ultimatum. You can even call it a form of slavery!
What I'm confused about with Dany haters is that her house words are literally FIRE AND BLOOD, she said that she will take what is hers with FIRE AND BLOOD. Then they call her the Mother of Dragons. So what is she supposed to do? Have dragons and just have them roar at people until they're scared enough to bend to her will without some force? The last episode was literally called "Spoils of War" it's about the bad sides of war!
I suppose the problem is that when Robert Beratheon had this problem (His first 3 battles where against his own bannermen) he found a Diplomatic/Political solution, all the lords that fought him joined him and he gave none of them ultimatums to do so... Making Robert look good on thee Diplomatic/Political side of anything means the person making him look good seriously fucked up, can you really not see all the potential negatives of what she did and why it's morally fucked up?

It would have been better if Dany beheaded the Tarlys. I think burning them draws a lot of parallel with her father (even though Aegon did the same), that she is trying to avoid.
Also: if you hate Dany, and think she's the mad queen.. Than tell me what is Cersei? She killed many innocent in the sept, Dany only burned the opposition army.... which is justified in cases of war.
Remember what Tyrion said two episodes ago about the difference between soldiers who follow out of fear and soldiers who follow out of love?
Yes, and this was the same man who came up with a plan that failed hard. She shouldn't trust him. Like Olenna said, they wont obey her unless they fear her. A conquerer must be feared.
His plan was efficient and militarily sound, and failed only due to Jaime's end-run at Highgarden and Euron Greyjoy's mystical, magical travelling warship circus. Even if his plan WAS a bad one, which it wasn't, how does that mean that she shouldn't trust him? He's still loyal to her and still possesses his intellect and experience. As for instilling fear, IF necessary, a public beheading would have worked equally well and been far less needlessly cruel.

I know I'm two years late commenting but I've been bingeing your reactions and I have to say the people criticising you for being too fixated on Dany/loving everything she does even if it's questionable and violent were being a bit ridiculous. I never liked Dany (not because I thought she was evil - I certainly didn't see 8x05 coming - just because I thought she was reckless, arrogant, entitled and blind to her own mistakes), but I love watching your reactions precisely because you're watching the show from a different perspective which makes your videos interesting and fun! I don't know why people would complain about that - it's a reaction, which means we're going to be getting your personal opinions and biases (the stronger the better).

Hey, George. Honestly, just keep reacting naturally to the show (which is the point of reaction videos) and don't feel apologetic about it. Discussion and criticism regarding the opening scene is fine, but I think it's ridiculous that you're being downvoted and even attacked by some people for not reacting in the way THEY wanted. Had this been another Cersei blowing up a bunch of people moment that you were getting excited about (which most reactors did), I imagine there wouldn't be nearly as much hysteria.

Hi, George. Agree that it's just a TV show and I also LOVED seeing Drogon burn up folks. It was a glorious thing to see. I mean...that's what we've been waiting for!!!! We wanted to see a dragon display its full power and I hope we see it happen again.

For those claiming Dany should have just imprisoned the Tarlys, if she gave that option to them, then she would have to have offered that same option to the remaining soldiers as well. Once a leader like Randall Tarly takes that option the majority of the soldiers would have likely taken the same. Does anyone truly believe that the Tyrell survivors were given prison as an option in Episode 3 by Jaime? I seriously doubt it.

You are getting the lannister fanboy heat cause you have been mentioned on other channels. The vast majority of people love and appreciate your reactions. It's just that the minority is very vocal as they make multiple posts with multiple accounts. I don't even have to explain why Dany did what she did cause others already have, rather well too.
Khaleesi was right to burn them. They're at war. They're not playing checkers or hopscotch. He basically told her he will never submit to her and is her enemy. She gave them a choice and they made it. The sexism towards Khaleesi is real.

I watched a video of someone burning alive before. He was just rolling around on the ground, and it sounded like people were casually dining where the video was being taken from. I didn't realize someone could burn for that long and still be conscious.

My only problem with Dany killing those 2 tarleys was because she gave them an ultimatum. Join or die. What happened to the Dany that told slaves they could leave if they wanted or stay and fight for her. I understand it would be stupid to let them leave back to Cersei, but killing them for refusing to fight for you is almost on the same level as slavery. Atleast take prisoners and show the rest of Westeros you're not your father.

Haven't watched any of your reactions aside from last week's, but honestly, ignore the haters from last week. We've been waiting years for Dany to channel Aegon and anybody who thinks it's not gonna be bloody is honestly stupid. They're fictinal characters and you're allowed to be awed by the awesomeness.

They are traitors who betrayed House Tyrell who they were pledged to and chose to support the usurper Cersei, who had murdered Queen Margarry along with hundreds of innocents. Dany gave these two idiots a choice, that was very kind. Tywin or Stannis or even Ned would have executed them right away.
Euron has Yara, plus she has no idea about that yet anyway. It was the only logical choice for her to make. She didn't have to spare the resources on prisoners, and it motivated the other men to kneel. Easy.
That's exactly what i'm thinking. In times of war, you need to use your brain and make tactical decision. She could've promised them the Reach, she could've keep them as prisoners (unlike the others soldiers, the Tarlys are a great house) she could've use Randyll Tarly skills as a general because he is strong and very smart. It was stupid to just burn them (and beheading should've been more appropriate because burning people alive is why people will remind her dad).
Tbh, the opening scene with Dany contradicted the character that they had been building up through seasons 1-6. There was even a speech Tyrion gave regarding the Unsullied, and how they follow her out of trust, not fear. Now Dany has a bunch of Lannister men that are following her out of fear, as she gave them the ultimatum to either follow her or be burned alive. The old Dany that we knew and loved would have let the Lannisters return home. They obviously wouldn't have the will to fight after seeing one dragon in action, let alone the idea that she has two more at the ready. She's no longer liberating, she's starting to conquer. And before you say "Oh the Lannister soldiers are evil and deserve to be killed", each Unsullied was said to have killed at least one baby each. Most of those Lannister soldiers have probably never even seen bloodshed before that battle.

I've watched your videos since S01E01, and I knew exactly what your reaction would be when I saw that scene, because you're watching this show for fun and you find Dany badass and love cheering for her. Sure, there are debates we can all get into about if it was moral and who has done what and who's evil and who's good, but at the end of the day it's a fictional TV show we watch for fun. I watch your reactions because it's fun for me to see them. If people aren't having fun watching you, they shouldn't, and that's totally fine. But people shouldn't be nasty and threatening to you over a difference of opinions on a TV show. So don't let anyone being nasty over videos that you post for fun, that aren't hurting anyone, and they watch voluntarily upset you. You do you! Lots of love :)

The biggest problem I had with this episode was Jorah not mentioning to Jon that he was cured by Sam and Gendry not saying that he travelled with Arya. If they have saved these reveals for future episodes it's very contrived writing.

It was said about the Baratheon line, not the Starks or Targaryens. Yes, most Targaryens have the same looks, but that's because most of the family married and had kids with their siblings. In history, you see examples of the Targaryen looks not always breeding true when a Targaryen has kids with someone outside the family.

George, it was badass indeed and it is what you do in war. Dany is taking what's hers... with Fire and Blood (she has been warning people since 1x10, so I don't understand the surprise). Don't listen to the haters. They aren't Dany haters anymore. They hate that Jon, Tyrion or Jaime aren't our favourite characters. I like them, I really do. I like Jon, I've loved his journey from season 1 until now, but he is not more interesting than Dany, not for me. Most of the fans love him because he knows how to fight, because `he took a knife in the heart` and because he's the underdog of the story. Tyrion is an underdog too, and Dany began as one... and her situation was far worse than theirs.
But I'm team Targaryen above all for other reasons. There's something about their history, their strength, their Valyrian heritage, their silver hair and purple eyes (in the books at least) and their dragons that I found fascinating.

i've actually unsubbed from channels because of a-hole reactors constantly railing against dany (like many in the comments here).....i'd like to see how they'd think to defeat the army of the dead without her & her dragons (i'm looking at you sansa)...she brought the only weapons they have against the army of the dead back into the world....can you imagine having any hope at all for humanity in this show without her & her dragons?
