Another way to turn spinning tops!

Our woodturning club has several events throughout the year where we turn spinning tops for the kids. In addition to using traditional spindle blanks, here is another method one of our members developed to be able to quickly turn a spinning top using hardwood dowels. Although preparing the dowel "blanks" does take some time beforehand, the spinning top can be finished in just a few minutes... sometimes, the kids even get to pick their favorite colors as they watch their new toy being made before their eyes!
