Making a crazy gyroscope spinning top out of mahogany

In this video I make a gyroscope spinning top. Because of it's strange shape and the forces created from the gyroscopic effect, this top has the ability to spin off centre really crazy. I made it out mahogany and an old ball bearing.

If you want it to stand up you'll need to make the outer limits of the disk 📀 at least twice the weight of the inside. Add a layer of wood (top and bottom) around the rim to give the out side more weight and that weight will be pushing out words while it's spinning making it not only stand up but give it the artificial gravity to keep it standing for a while.

Looks like fun..I wonder if you drill a hole somehow at the bottom spinning side of shaft and inserted a pencil to see the circles it draws as it spins??
