    I love this, but until despite all the automation of FG there is still A LOT for DMs to manage and this just adds to that load. I'd like to use these templates, but until their usage is made more practical, I have to pass. However, if they're ever integrated into the spells themselves, I'll be the first in line to buy the pack.

    Just picked this up after insurmountable layering issues with the spell tokens extension, and after a little tinkering sadly I don't see how these templates can be a normal part of my game without being able to A) quickly rotate spells like color spray at angles other than 45 degree increments and B) more spells - there's so many missing right now. Here's hoping the assets get updated over time with more spells, and that work is put into making the angles easier to produce accurately and quickly. It would be ideal if we could select and place all our spells the way we draw lines/circles/cones currently, which works great and is fast and doesn't interrupt play much at all. Despite these criticisms, I love the progress FGU has been making, and am excited about future updates. I love being able to adjust colors and transparency effects especially.

    Really cool feature and thanks for that. Would it possible to build on it can add by allowing players ability to (for example) right click on a map and load available templates shared By the gm to draw. Before accepting it, the gm could use a confirmation tick, like done for moment control to have the final say and they could control the opacity aspects and final tweaking. Might help spread the load on the gm. Great feature though!

    I think this is really cool but I can't possibly imagine as a DM having time to edit the map to add these - especially for instantaneous effects. Do players have the ability to add or draw these? It would be amazing if there was a feature whereby the spell itself had a draggable image associated. Otherwise I just can't see myself using most of these as a DM on the fly unless I'm pre-setting an encounter with a heap of spell effects already working. Or am I totally missing something here?

    • @FantasyGrounds
      @FantasyGrounds  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For now it is just GM only. I don't think it's something you would necessarily use every time, but I could see it adding some great value to big boss fights with spellcasters. They are presized, so it is mostly just dragging onto the map and they will auto-scale for you. With some practice, I could see it being just as fast as dragging out and measuring the distance with pointers -- or pulling it up while the player does the measurement and placement with pointers. Then you just drop the image over where they said they wanted it placed.

    • @FantasyGrounds
      @FantasyGrounds  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good observation on instantaneous stuff. It definitely has more value for persistent effects. The assets might be useful for extension authors if they can tie it to the spell effect and have it automatically placed and removed, but we don't have anything like that currently as far as I'm aware.
