  • Construction and flight of a rubber powered Cessna C34 built using pre-WWII Megow model airplane company plans. This makes a great flyer as it is easy to build light and will take a lot of rubber if you dare. Mine has unfortunately been damaged beyond repair but a new one is in my future!

Impeccable build quality, as always. On that note, would love to see more of the actual build process, instead of just the finishing. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your kind words and comment. I appreciate hearing that you'd like to see more of the build process. Having just started my channel a few months ago, this type of feed back helps me a lot to decide what I should include. I'll begin including more of the basic framing of the model along with covering and assembly. Please feel free to let me know if future videos meet your request.

Nice assembly and flight. Thanks for sharing! I gather the Megow Cessna C-34 is better than the Comet version.

Thank you for your comment. The Comet version is another winner! As I recall, nice light construction. The Megow might be a bit more scale with some extra details. But either one would fly great. BTW, the Megow is also available in a smaller wingspan version.

@@Watchingthevideos99 Thanks for the information. I have the Comet C-34 (unbuilt) and as you probably recall it's also one of Comet's die cut kits.

Ah, OK. I was thinking about an earlier version that Comet did. Nevertheless, yours should fly well. Good luck with your project and have fun!

Megow made a Cessna 34? I didn't know that. Where did you find plans, John? I have a Comet Cessna 37. Looks very simular to the 34. You did a awesome job building it. Lots of detail work I never thought of doing building a model. It flew well. Chat on Stick & Tissue Club or Flying Aces Club later, John.

Megow has both a 24 inch and a 30 inch. Both are excellent flyers.

    Nice work
I bet those cowling blisters were a pain to do

Thank you. Actually, for the cowl bumps, I shape a length of balsa stick 1/8 x 1/4 with a symmetrical airfoil shape. Then round off one end with sandpaper to the cowl bump shape with a new razor and repeat. Using this method, you can complete a set in about 30 minutes. Of course, they still need paint and installation. 😆

Nice build! And a good flyer, too. I didn't catch the wingspan?

Thank you Will. This one has a 30 inch wingspan. Megow produced the C-34 in several sizes. The 24 inch span is also a great flyer!
