    2.2 grams? That's just amazing. Such a lovely job building what many wouldn't bother devoting that much attention to. Flies really well considering its small wing span. I wish you luck with the final work in trimming it out.

      The privilege of age! up to 40 years old, everything is fine with the eyes but afterwards, the glasses arrive, and no one escapes them ... and if in addition a chemotherapy goes through there, the lens becomes even stiffer ... But the wisdom sets in and we no longer try to appear, but just to be alive without worrying about "what will be said".

    Increase rubber size, but before installing prop, after winding, back off 5% of turns to reduce "power burst" ......... keep trimming ! makes me smile to see someone fly indoor rubber - I did it for 16 yrs ....... if I had a site, I'd still be doing it .........

As soon as possible When the gym will reopen, I'll continue trimming this little aircraft, but this size is a real hard challenge.

    • @FusionAero
      @FusionAero 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm also sure that chilling the air for maximum density is but ONE consideration. Built and flew a Peck Polymers Peanut kit or two in late childhood, and you make it LOOK easy, but I'm pretty sure that any ham-fisted attempt by me to craft one of your exquisite confections would go spinning wildly about it's axis into the ground, as the outsize propeller stood almost completely still.
      Seems my inner 13 year-old can't drop the issue though, he keeps bugging me to buy that sub-micron resin 3-D printer, and filling my head with images of micro-gears and layouts for a tiny pair of contra-rotating props. He has this crazy idea that if the flying surfaces weren't needed to counteract the propeller torque, and could be 100% dedicated to lift generation, that a room temperature Sub Pistachio-Scale flyer MIGHT be possible.
      If I decide to go down this road, I know that gearboxes and auto-winders are the hallmarks of the serious rubber-power hobbyist. Did you make your own little winder, or is that unit commercially available? Thanks again for the entertaining and inspiring video, makes me wonder what could be next; "Sunflower Seed Scale?!"
