- Update - Finally got around to recording the missing bits unique to CRACK THE SKY: streamable.com...
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
All audio was captured in-game at the best available spot on the map, with the least amount of loud/ambient background noise possible.
I chose this method after listening to a few samples extracted from the sound files bit.ly/2VdkB5z Having total silence felt a bit jarring as it isolates you from the game world, so I thought leaving in some natural, surrounding sound would be more optimal. I've assembled them in contextual order, and uploaded the Flynn dialogue separately to avoid disrupting the immersion. bit.ly/2OCUUZk
Will be doing a Bad Co. 1 version in the future, so stay tuned! :)

Oh yeah y'know just a way to kill time and know more about each other 😆
I swear, they just left the microphones on, and told them to say whatever, but stay in character while doing so.
Quakefan7 the brilliant simplicity of being a man
The more I listen the more true that sounds. Like they're all playing a very slightly exaggerated stereotypical soldiers but still just shooting the shit to see what sticks.
I've come back to tell you that I discovered, for the first game at least, this 100% true. Not even joking.
Even for the lines for cut scenes and stuff, they told the voice actors "Okay, here's the important lines, say them how ever you want just stay in character." And entire conversations would stir up from one line.
I would have no doubt they would do the same thing for the second.
Yeah, I'm 4 years late, but hay: there's no time limit on discovering you're right. Or, no time limit as long as you're alive... I guess the time limit is how long you got left to live. Point is, you're right, and you deserve to know.

They said as i read this lol
@@Captain_Chromosome sameeee lol
i loved his laugh as he heard Hagg's dog's name was Sarge xD
I swear this is possibly the best character writing i've ever seen/heard in any game, hands down.
Critical & Sarcastic Well it's natural conversation. They need more stuff like this.
I think most of this was ad-libbed.
I personally think Max Payne takes the cake for that. But for chemistry between characters, these guys take that trophy any day
Yeah I don't think this was written lmao
You haven't played many games then
“Sarge you have the deepest darkest eyes I have ever seen”
“You better get the f*** off me”

TheDuckyBoi, I miss these..
I wish they did this more. It's the small things.
they need to bring this series back! we want Bad Company 3!
@@randymarsh9488 better not
@@thebadwolf3088 why?

Agreed. Most new games are missing this small things. These conversations are golden man.

Ognjen Saponja I’m right there bro
I swear these conversations are so real
I think these are improvised.
I think what helps is the voice actors are mentioning actual brand names, like Taco Bell and Fox, instead of made up names for stuff
"Wonder what they got inside...."
"The Ark of the Covenant..."
"...The Holy Grail..."
"...A space ship!"
"Woody Allen!"
"...Haggard, that idea's just wrong, man."

Yeah the voice actors needs to open podcast and talk about there life
The way redford said “big boi”
#GOW
God, these guys were such great characters, such great dialogue, you can completely get to know the characters just by these conversations alone, now in BF1 I can't even remember a name of any of the characters except Lawrence of Arabia but that's just because he's famous.
It's kind of sad after Bad Company, Battlefield became everything it was parodying in Bad Company.
I kinda like four's campaign but STILL can't remember those character names. lol
Oh boy you're gonna be praising BF1 now after what came after iz
@@whoisthisis4529 Well you're right about that, I loved BF1, this comment didn't mean I didn't like it, sad how far BF has fallen now though, just like all EA-produced games.

These voice actors are great they really act like a real human not like a bunch of robots we see in other games...

That would be a gigantic push for bf to get many to play there game agn at least for me I haven't cared for it since bf1
@@amilcarmazariegos1638 Yeah it's the only way to get people to have interest in the franchise. Between the ea microtransactions and b5 launch they will need something big to get people hyped or care anymore and even than the transactions are still a thing.
These are legit infantry convos, and it makes me nostalgic.
I like how sometimes you can hear the producers and cast in the background trying not to laugh. Or like at 7:53 you can here a cheerful "mhm what about it.
true!!
"how does a brainwashed man know he was brainwashed?" damn this is gold!
Thanks for immortalizing this game's quotes so they aren't lost in the sands of time. I listened to this whole vid again yesterday and it was great. They don't make em like they used to, bad company 1 and 2 were definitely passion projects.
So well stated! I wholeheartedly agree. :)

"Playing sweet music on my clarinet!"
If they put marlowe in on these conversations i wonder what he would say.
I wish he would talk too.
then he said " ...................... " that my joke
At least they've already established that he's a little more introverted than the others, so it makes sense that he'd be more of a listener than a talker, but I never got why they always had the protagonists be dead silent in first-person shooters all the time. It would be nice to hear some more about him and his life.
He’s like that guy in a battlefield squad that has a mic but won’t talk.
I'd rather be quiet, offering commentary after the fact.

@@ZaveAres true story.
This takes place in about an hour. We're sipping on ble moon and complaining about work in the slippery noodle, a blues brothers blues bar that we frequent often.
Free drinks. Good people. Crazy people.
Guy at bar, drunk af, wanders over to me and my favorite corporal: you guys are alright.
Me and cpl: you don't even know us but why even make words with you.
Him: literally explains his day, nothing major. Not bad. We've listened to drunk guys for decades.
Him: loses interest with us and talks to they bartender for 5 minutes.
Us:. Bruh I'm done. Let's go home. I can barely finish this.
Drunk guy: lemme buy you a pitcher.
Us: ......... Okay. It's not like we have to drink it.
Him: so let me...hic....tell. ....ugh.... You....hic... The secret to life.
Us: .... Surprise me. What's the secret?
Him: hold on what time is it?
10p why?
Him: oh okay ive a bus to catch.
Us: alright whatevs.
He takes off.
We, after even more pitcher of blue moon beer: wait., Its not like i wanted to talk to him... Not.. You can't just emotionally invest us on the story. Buy a pitcher. And leave on that note.
What the fuck.
Actual military convo. I'll never know what the secret to life is. Lol
I think he was an 11bravo and i don't know why he needed a bus but i know he couldn't drive and i don't generally take to the drunk guys cuz we've both been bouncers and we did this over maybe an hour, maybe a half... But the issue is that... These fuck it run with it issues keep happening. Yearly.
Weekly. Often. Military is weird
Haggard: “Hey Fuckwit, why you gotta rain on his parade?”
Sweets: “... I like pie!”
Awesome, I used to never get bored listening to their wisecracks, or their life moments.
Goddamn it we need a BC3
It would be ruined somehow
I like they let the VA's fuck ups get through. Like they left the mics on and noticed they had hours of bants and said "fuck it, put it in the game"
It wasn't until midway through my first plathrough did I realize my squad made small-talk. This is some hilarious and well-written shit for something most players completely missed!
Sweets talking about the fossils in the Himalayas, Sarge: "Slow down Sweets! Your hairs starting to smoke." Is one of the most charming lines in anything ever.
"Skoal. It'd give you cancer. I don't care." - Haags
This is the most realistic depiction of the military ever
God, if only they had Marlow join in with them.
This was so great. First time ever in a game where I'd find places to stop and listen. Totally immersive and absolutely brilliant.
SqwEarl * Saints Row has this "mechanic", too, but definitely not in that depth...
"Well considering our line of work, I think invisible would be good." hahahahah xD
I love that they kept him flubbing a line and the other guy riffing off of it. It's so much more natural.
This is the best humor I’ve ever seen in a video game

That's like a podcast except noone's pretending to be someone and they genuinely enjoy their time together. I'd listen to that on spotify
Wtf I played this gave since launch and though I heard it all. Thanks buddy awesome! Had such a laugh..
I was listening to this while considering what to buy on steam sale.. They won me over
Hands down best storyline voiceovers I’ve ever heard
It'd be great if they did a Bad Company 3 in which Preston is somewhat involved in the conversations. They already have talking first-person protagonists in games like Mirror's Edge, so I don't see why they can't do the same in this case. I get that Preston is more reserved and less talkative than the others, which I like, but it'd be nice to learn a little about him along with the others. And to see the others bonding with him the way they do with each other.

I still sit in a safe spot with these three and just listen to them.
This game was amazing, the multiplayer, the comedy, the trailers!
I'm awaiting the day when somebody does a compilation like this, but for Bad Company 1, because that game also had dialogue like this. In the first mission, there were at least two exchanges I remember:
- The boys discussing Miss July, and reminiscing on the guy who was there before her - they don't mention what happened to the guy or even what his name was, other than how he didn't like the squad, and how Haggard punched him.
- Haggard and Sweetwater discussing the war and how it started, which segues into an implicit fart joke about "natural gas" from Army rations (Sweetwater mentions that the current war is apparently being fought over natural gas).
I love these, but I don't have the patience to stand around (and also because I don't know the "triggers" for dialogue). It's pretty much the same deal as this - you stand idle and they eventually chit-chat, and it's just as funny as this.
My favorite part of this game was the banter between these 3. Miss these characters big time! This is a real gem!
These guys need a friggin' podcast where they talk about random ass shit while staying in character.
This is what made this game so memorable. It's just, guys talking, and being funny. It's like they just had the voice actors just, sit around, and talk, and it worked so well. I have never seen dialogue this good in a game.
I could just listen to this for hours.
5:58 You wanna be Harrison Ford in Air Force One?
"B.B's still here right?"
:(
As a battlefield player who played this game when i was very young, I love this game, I love these characters and love these campaigns. It's sad that there might be no new Bad Company game in the future 😔
If they ever make a bad company 3, wanna bet they will focus on the scenery, weapons or destruction thinking that´s the main reasons why we loved bad company so much?
All it takes is a decent shooter with well written characters and we are SOLD!
I just stopped for a minute in Bolivia near the radio boom box opposite to red barrels and just took time see what happens and this happened. Best time spent.
I still love listening to these Gods!
It is actually criminal that this franchise didn’t get a third installment. The second game ends on such a ball busting cliffhanger. 😫
Sarge: ‘You know, the governor who ran for President that plays the bass.’
Me:..........wtf..............Mike Huckabee??
Yeah... How badly that segment of dialogue aged post-Trump, however, is a question I don't want answered lmao honestly it was hella spooky hearing this in 2021
I was in the Army. Their conversations are relatable, funny as hell, sounds similar to my platoon especially when we were in fthe field.

this is golden. BC campaign is so cool because of these characters and destruction. played BF 4 a few weeks before, did a couple of missions and dropped it.
