UGH YES! We have an audio sweep, but it is not picked up well from the mic so we cut it alas. Paul has the TS Parameters on his site/twitter :) But in the enclosure things change obviously.
My website needs a serious update. Response is currently not up on there but will get it back. @@Polymate3D Sounds good! The Qts of .89 would make it work in an infinite baffle, maybe try to get it down to .7? I love this project and will be building a couple with my kids in the summer.
@@jameswarren1831 As much as I have more set motor designs now, I am always working on finding improvements there. I have a un released higher end motor which would probably end up at around twice the cost, but already is getting down to 0.58 Qts on a larger driver, and has a longer linear travel of around 3.5mm currently. I am trying to make a variety of designs to cover from intrigued people to the DIY audio people who want the absolute best I can do. I am always open to ideas :)
You know, I did for so long too. I get the ADHD pain for sure. I was motivated for this because we had a HUGE event we were attending and presenting at, Synapse summit. We wanted it for that, so we turned and burned and got it done. The second one was done specifically for the video LOL. I had no schedule too make the others lol. I want to, but man it is hard to find motivation some day. I would LOVE to do a video on that subject, but I know it will come off as complaining but I do feel it is important for the maker community to come together about this. Some sort of project accountability buddy would be amazing LOL
@@3DMusketeers you are absolutely right. My current project is a Master Chief helmet and I have to fight myself to put the time in to sand and finish it. Gotta keep the end product in mind constantly.
It is easy to set things aside that are personal, but man it hurts my productivity in the business. I have been working on a really cool product for the 3d printing industry and it has completely stalled because I am not prioritizing it :/ hoping to pick it up soon!
Thanks! We are trying! Once I can get back into good health I think life will be a bit easier. Constant, chronic pain is no fun. More Glimpse of Grant's, for spine injections, coming in the next 2 months.
Prank? The Patreon version has the real prank lol. I do not have an anechoic chamber handy to get measurements, but Polymate has some on their site. The audio you hear is raw, minus whatever compression YT puts on it..
Taking a casting of the one you have or printing out a master to do carbon fiber layup on. It won't be cheap. A 40in sub is massive. Don't forget about the voice coil, spider, etc.
I would print it in pieces. The mold would be a few hundred for sure. I dont do CF work here but I know a few that do. I would expect no less than 1k all in for this because of how crazy big it is. Any ideas of the previous cone weight?
I do, however we have to use royalty free music, so we are limited to THAT selection lol. admittedly my preference is swing if I have to go to the jazz routes, but either way, I do know, just did not want to get nicked by the bots lol
Bring on the ribbon tweeter! Some Theil Small parameters and a frequency sweep would be nice but it looks like a fun project.

I can try infinite baffle.. Never even thought of that, it should run well as IB as well, but a small driver may be odd for it.

Ill send you some pictures of my nephew's printed magnaplanar headphones, he built everything even etching the diaphragms
I want to see as well :)
OMG please do! That would be amazing!!!
Ok, I have the 3d models here but can't seem to save them as pictures. I'll ask George to send the pictures over.
you can always email me :)
Amazing! Not only they work but also sounds good? I'll be tempted to improvise a project of my own.
I have definitely heard better, but for the money, they are pretty damn good. It was a really fun project.
Great project
Thanks for sharing :-)
Thanks! If you see other projects out there that you want us to build let me know!
I would love to take a project on like this but I struggle to find motivation to do so. What motivates you personally to take a project on like this?

Video great speaker so great sound 👍
Thanks Peter!
Oh maaaan!!! I thought there would be at least one technical detail about 3D printed speakers. Your prank did work on me.

Can you print a 40 inch subwoofer cone?
40 inch? It wouldnt last. Possible, sure, but to get it stiff and light you'd want to make it out of woven carbon fiber
@@3DMusketeers how do I accomplish that? They don’t make them anymore so I have to look into 3rd party options.

RIGHT?!?!

YYYAAAAASSSS!
This is so cool
I KNOW! I freaking love it!
Do it, this content is crazy cool!
More speaker content or are there any specific projects you would like to see us tackle??
@@3DMusketeers More speaker content. To be able to have the ability to have this quality from 3D printing opens more doors for creativity.
Can do! Will have to work with Paul on this to try and get things tuned in, maybe get some Varioshore and try that out too.
@@3DMusketeers Awesome. Also enjoyed the interview with @Simple Electronics! Very entertaining.
Oh yeah I should post about that ha ha! I think it goes public tomorrow? It was a fun interview!
Sound little bit boxy to me
I mean, yeah, its not AMAZING but for what it is, its darn good

What is your favorite Jazz band? Now I am curious if I can open my knowledge of it some more! :)
Open baffle speakers.
Or infinite baffle?
