Here’s a bunch of suggestions; The Gameboy Camera faces, Man-Bat and the Solomon Grundy shrine in Batman Arkham Knight, Scarcrow’s Lair in Batman Arkham City. Matt Helms in No More Heroes 2, the Hell Valley Sky Tree in Super Mario 3D land, Psycho Mantis in Metal Gear Solid, The Sorrow in Metal Gear Solid 3, literally every final boss in the Kirby series, Uboa from Yume Nikki, the Left 4 Dead Witch in Payday 2, the Krypt monster in Mortal Kombat 9, Slenderman in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare, the Ascensionism initiation in Kanye Quest 3030, the mirror jumpscare in Doom 3, and finally Blizzeta and the Dark Interlopers from the Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. I love horror in all media not just video games so this is a perfect topic to nerd out lmao.

If I had a nickel for every game that I played on a Nintendo system that had a shapeshifting spider monster that transformed by snapping its neck, I’d have two nickels. Which granted isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

In the game Superliminal, the 4th level called blackout is really out of place. It uses a lot of psychological horror, and surprisingly uses no jumpscares.
Man Harold is a very tragic character through out the fallout games
First he helps create the water merchants and their town
Then after getting exposed to the fev he turns into a ghoul like creature and then shunned by his people living in the street
In fallout two his madness is getting a little bit worst as a small branch grows from his head which leads to his fate in fallout 3
He really is. I love the character but he had it rough.
Another scary thing in Super Paper Mario is River Twygz Bed, not just the place but the music is so creepy

I'm not sure if this has been up there yet but imagine going into a public server, that is usually full, for a game like TF2 or Minecraft but the server is just empty.
I love empty servers. The thought is very creepy.

Something to add to the Assassin's Creed 2 Kraken easter egg... If you continue to look into the water after seeing the creature, it'll jumpscare you by flailing its tentacle out of the water before going back down. It won't kill the player, but many people who remember RE4 might want to stay away from the water.

you couldn't describe LSD worse than that. you see, if you touch anything, it send you to the corresponding area. if it's just a random wall, then maybe on a random place on the map. if you touch entities that are related to horror, it takes you forth or wakes you up entirely. it's not a linear game at all
The one thing that ALWAYS scared me as a kid was the Wilikin Village from Skylanders: Giants.
The villagers were made of wood like puppets and you could pull a switch to either animate them or turn off sentience. The faces of these people were painted in an unsettling way. Not to mention the background music… geeze. Nightmare fuel for sure.
It was so creepy and easily gave me nightmares as a kid.
The pokedex entries for some Pokémon are really creepy. Also the monkey family on halo 3 is kinda creepy. In halo 2 there's a reverse speech in one of the cutscenes that sounds weird

The queen vanessa one scared the hell out of me first playing but its more sad/tragic when you learn the story behind her and a nother scary thing I believe is that you can see the outline of the prince in the dungeon you enter using a certain mask (snatcher doesn't allow you to use your hats here but said nothing about masks although it does count as a hat in game but it was a small loop around) i believe
I don’t know if this was on there, but one of my favorite games ever is pikmin 2. However, something that’s pretty iconic in pikmin is the submerged castle, where an enemy called the water wraith will come if you spend more than five minutes on any level. It’s unbeatable until you fight it at the end and it’s pretty scary, it still makes me tense even after playing it multiple times. Something similar is also in the other pikmin games

I remember back in the early days of world of warcraft there was a unused stage that you had to glitch through and there was hooks hanging on the ceiling along with strange noises
Also the mother 3 mushroom trip scene gets really creepy apparently the developers had to cut out some dialogue because of how disturbing it was getting even though it's really strange

I used to feared of dry bowser since his origin is a creepy moment from New Super Mario Bros for the DS; when you beat Bowser for the first time in castle 1-1 he gets throwned into the lava pit but suddenly his skin gets melted and starts to scream of pain.
The same way as CrogoMire which was a Super Metroid creature who apperantly Samus has to throw him into a pit where he gets killed and its skin gets melted screaming with so much pain
I think that in Super Mario 3D land or 3D world there´s this Haunted mansion level in world 4 where if you achieve to the goal but wait for a few moments you can see a shadowy figure behind the flag

Vanessa's Manor changed a lot during A Hat In Time's development. There were a lot of lore changes and a whole floor of the manor got cut. Wolfcl0ck made a great series on it and A Hat In Time's beta in general if you're interested.

One thing to note about the Sires from is Gears of War 2 is that they weren't just people, they were child experiments formed by injecting DNA from the creatures of the Hollow into children infected with Rustlung. You can encounter a unique Sire in Gears Tactics called Ukkon, who's explained to be the cause behind Hollow creatures being turned into vehicles for the Locust

It irks me that some of these entires are horror concepts inside non-horror *focused* games, and not something that heavily contradicts said horror genre (i.e you have a totem head in Animal Crossing if your save file corrupts during your train ride to a friend's village). But besides that this is a well-rounded round-up of easter eggs and creepy moments in video games. Also, TH-cam thinks this is footage of 'Amnesia: Dark Descent'

There's an obscure kid's game called Forestia that has a REALLY out of place moment during a dream sequence. I found out about it from TV Tropes, and Joshscorcher talked about it as well.

idk if subnautica is considered horror. if not than the first time you go to the dunes and the pda tells you its not worth it and to go back then hearing a reaper roar is super scary.

The reaper in Persona 5 scared the life out of me when exploring Memento's and just being AFK for a little bit. Not sure if it is added, could be a cool entry.
Uncharted has a handful more spooky moments. The first game has the whole bunker chapter which takes place shortly after the descendants are introduced. It's honestly the best part of the first game. There's also the yeti creatures from the second game and the spiders from the third.

This War Of Mine has a creepy/disturbing moment in it. If you go into one of the buildings you can hear banter of a young woman/girl arguing with an older man about her stealing, if you hide you see him drag her into an abandoned room and later if you walk past that room you can hear her scream out and cry as the man is r@ping her, you cant do anything all you can do is hear it, when that happened to me i had to pause the game for a minute...

A possible entry for a sequel:The Burnout 3 Takedown Impact Time sounds.For a racing game with a light tone,these sounds are quite out of place and certainly the stuff of nightmares.

Here's my suggestions for Part 3:
The Experiment from Kingdom Hearts 2. Although itself not a Heartless, the being who's apparently a vessel, unable to be fully human and was forced to bring despair to Christmas Town is really messed up and creepy.
Shadow Temple from Zelda Ocarina of Time. This is the area where you'll need to save Impa. Very creepy a lot like the other temples in this game. Hell, you got to encounter Dead Hand again as an adult! 😨
Trail of Blood in Final Fantasy VII. Even the music screams what the f*ck is going on here. Then the blood leads to President Shinra who was murdered, and Sephiroth's Masamune pinned to his back. Freaky as shit, tho.
The entirety of Mickey's Magical Mirror. That fever dream hellscape for five year olds makes me feel unsettled to this day

Almost all Vaults in Fallout can be creepy or horrific. 86, 11, 21, 75, 108, 111, and a few others. And yes, I said 111 because you are looking at the frozen bodies of all your neighbors and spouse and the skeletons of the security and science staff. And there's bullet marks everywhere meaning the security revolted against the scientists because food and supplies were practically gone and people wanted to leave.
