Man-Bat is my favorite Batman villain so I remember getting jump scared and then immediately being like “hell yeah it’s Man-Bat!!!”. Nothing compares to the Killer Croc level in Arkham Asylum. I was probably 9 years old when that game came out and that level scared tf out of me. The tension it builds is crazy and killer croc just keeps jump scaring you. That game does such a good job of making you feel like a badass superhero and then ripping that power away forcing you to rely on Batman’s other skills. Asylum is still the best story wise in my opinion.
oh really? you havent played Batman when you were Older? (just poking fun, to borrow a Mitch Hedberg joke, "EVERY picture is Of You When You Were Younger! thats how cameras work!" :-P)
I love the skywalker saga for multiple reasons, but the main reason is it shows that Travelers Tales isn't going anywhere and is only going to get better and better
i want to like skywalker saga but there was something that never clicked and that turned out to be the menus and hud, i get anxiety from it. i like most of the lego games lego indiana jones 2 and lego sw complete saga, lotr, batman 1 and jurassic park are quite fun.
Silent Hill 3 does the opposite of this, the whole game is scary and at some point you come across a carnival haunted house. Thing is, for the most part, it behaves like a regular haunted house with no supernatural stuff until the end. It’s off putting and one of the scariest parts of the game
That is quite spooky. Haunted House levels in any genre of game are always the creepiest and most terrifying, along with anything to do with asylums or abandoned hospitals, especially if they have even scarier twists or something dark going on underground and you only disover those things the further you go, instead of in the beginning or middle. The more unexpected it is, the more terrifying it is. Silent Hill games are scary and horrifying enough as is, so adding a haunted house level? No thanks! lol I could never play the games myself and just watched others play them, because I found them too scary. xD I still find them scary as someone who is almost 30. But, I guess the devs succeeded in that sense and pretty much achieved their goal of scaring the bananas out of people.
Should’ve included the appearance of the Descendants in Uncharted Drakes Fortune. You really don’t expect to encounter zombie-like enemies in a treasure hunting game
This sort of discussion has always intrigued me. It’s so interesting talking about video game fear and horror in this kind of broad sense and seeing what not only makes it scary, but what people found scary about it. Great video!
genuinely fantastic video man, it baffles me that you don't have more subs, not yet at least. great humour, great commentary and great editing. definitely gonna be watching your content religiously from now on lmao, only a matter of time before your channel takes off.
I saw how many subscribers you had and I absolutely lost it. Everything about the video was so well made. From the thumbnail, to the editing style, the script. Even the confidence in your speech made the video feel so professional. You deserve this subscription. I’ll be looking forward to new videos!
Missed opportunity to include 0-S from Ultrakill! Which genuinely had me terrified so much that I nearly shat and pissed myself at the same time... I will never hear that hiss the same way again
HALO CE stands out to me as having the most impactful "horror" segment in a non-horror game (that I've played anyway). The revelation of the Flood and how it was executed creeped me the fuck out in a good way, especially for a 10-year-old boy like I was back then.
Before watching the video, I remember when I was playing Persona 5 Strikers and there was a random jumpscare and horde of zombie-like people in Okinawa. Scared the shit out of me lol. It wasn’t like.. really all that scary either, the game was just so bubbly and fun beforehand I didn’t expect it one bit
Just discovered your channel yesterday and have been binging it all day. Great stuff! You’ve got a great sense of humor, fantastic pacing, and most importantly; interesting topics! Excited to see what you’ve got next!
The Red Dead Redemption series could have its own list of scary moments. For an action sandbox game, it does horror better than a lot of horror games. I’m happy that this list doesn’t just use the same 5 Nintendo game moments every other countdown video does. Also don’t apologize for being “late for Halloween”. I love when channels don’t limit spooky videos to October.
A great example of a creepy moment in a non horror game is urdak in doom eternal. The choir singing in the backround and just the map itself makes the level pretty unnerving. I hope im not the only one that thinks the level is unnerving
Hey, great video! But I can't belive you didn't mention Giygas from EarthBound! The appearance of a lovecraftian cosmic horror and the literal embodiment of evil in this rather silly and lighthearted game is truly one of the scariest moments in fiction period. It cathes you so of guard and the lore and the way it's presented cements itself in my mind as one of the scariest moments in gaming
i just stumbled upon this video about thinking about this but man i really loved this video, your editing is so so professional and i hope you gain recognition
Great commentary, great word use, humorous, no just throwing random meme references or images or other annoying things. Good pacing and editing, not dragging on & on. Great vid. I see potential in you. Keep it up.
A hat in Time definitely takes the cake for me when it comes to surprisingly scary moments. The game is one of the most cheerful and colorful games I've played, yet Queen Vanessa's level made me almost sh*t myself.
Wtf? This video was fucking amazing I loved every second of it. Can’t believe you don’t have like, thousands more in subs (you’ll get there soon enough). Please keep it up.
Great video. Keep doing this great work, you will grow. Nice editing, nice mic, nice topic. Everything was great in this video. Good luck man, u deserve more visibility
When I was younger and played Mario 64 DS , I swear it was almost everything but Big Boo's Haunt (and the eel) that scared me. The piano did nothing for me when it probably should have, in retrospect.
Always spooked in in DK64 at the Aztec temple (I think) you grabbed a golden banana then a voice out of nowhere says “RUN.” and crosshairs are trained on you
The Orphanage section in Dragon Age Origins. Rabid Dogs, Ghostly Caretaker, Creepy Children Rhymes/Laughter, Ritual Shit, and it's all thanks to a fucking Rage Demon
Robbing the cradle from thief deadly shadows! Highly rec looking it up for anyone who isn’t familiar. Has actually been cited as an influence by various horror devs despite being a single level in a non-horror game.
Im sad psychonaughts wasn't mentioned When you enter the girls mind who teaches you the energy orb you can ride on, there's a creepy room inside her mind
Doom eternal is just the funniest example for this. The entire game is blood and gore but just funny and badass, but there is one moment in the first DLC. Just one moment when everything is quiet, normal transition period, and then there is one cannon foder zombie that just walks out right infront of you from behind a wall. No loud sound or anything, but just catches you off guard. Beating the entire game only to get scared by a cannon foder is just fucking funny.
- "In horror games Ghost chases you In Hitman contracts You strangle the Ghost "- B.Nandor Also when a Hitman game is more creepy than dedicated horror games like the hospital missions in codename 47 where you have to take out dr kovacs and then kill 13-14 agent 48clones And the professor ort meyer Also the sanitarium mission in Hitman contracts Where you have to escape after killing 48 clones and ort meyer And meat kings party where you can see chopped animals and butchers butchering them up and even a boss fight when saving the halfway chopped clients daughter as proof that it was sturrocks brother And also in traditions of the trade In the Budapest hotel mission You can find a Ghost in the 1st floor and if you steal a police Uniform you can kill the Ghost
Man-bat is the exact same concept as the Lizard from Spider-man. Using animal DNA to fix something that the scientist is lacking. Weather it be hearing or an arm.
If the Desert of the Knaaren and/or the Zombie Chickens from Rayman 3 will not be on here, then I am going to do something... mean. Like making you write bad checks.
I don't want to post spoilers but if anyone wants to play a game where the focus is on 'you're god-like and we're going to make you feel it' only for the tone to completely change for a quest about 100 hours in, play Warframe. you'll know when you hit the first horror questline and it's my favourite questline in the game. it's so good. I wish I could replay it. oh well. rap tap tap, kiddo.
I’m young and played the batman game even younger, when that man-bat scare happened I literally had night terrors of being scared by him.
Look up batman arkham asylum scarecrow jump scare
Man-Bat is my favorite Batman villain so I remember getting jump scared and then immediately being like “hell yeah it’s Man-Bat!!!”. Nothing compares to the Killer Croc level in Arkham Asylum. I almost quit the game I was so afraid haha
It’s a shame the 4th game got rid of super natural elements. Even 3 played around with it with the hallucinations at the end.
Finally a scary moments in non horror game video that isn’t just n64 games!
This sort of discussion has always intrigued me. It’s so interesting talking about video game fear and horror in this kind of broad sense and seeing what not only makes it scary, but what people found scary about it. Great video!
You are severely underrated, your videos are exactly what I’ve been looking for
Bro, it's Mariah Scarey.
She's committed to screeching out the rest of the year.
genuinely fantastic video man, it baffles me that you don't have more subs, not yet at least. great humour, great commentary and great editing. definitely gonna be watching your content religiously from now on lmao, only a matter of time before your channel takes off.
Definitely not yet, he's new but he would definitely gets a lot more in the future
ONLY 300 SUBS FOR THIS QUALITY CONTENT?? BRO WHAT.
I saw how many subscribers you had and I absolutely lost it. Everything about the video was so well made. From the thumbnail, to the editing style, the script. Even the confidence in your speech made the video feel so professional. You deserve this subscription.
I’ll be looking forward to new videos!
Bros out here writing and editing like he’s been in the game for years. Fantastic job man
This is not a topic i see often, and man, youre actually funny. I expect to see great things from you in the future!
This is a topic I've thought about before, especially the Mario 64 Piano. Nice vid man, one of my new favorite youtubers :)
great video i subbed man, love these type of long videos, underrated creator!
Missed opportunity to include 0-S from Ultrakill! Which genuinely had me terrified so much that I nearly shat and pissed myself at the same time...
I will never hear that hiss the same way again
When you mentioned donkey kong 64, I was sure you talk about the "get out" curser (yes) in the pyramid.
HALO CE stands out to me as having the most impactful "horror" segment in a non-horror game (that I've played anyway). The revelation of the Flood and how it was executed creeped me the fuck out in a good way, especially for a 10-year-old boy like I was back then.
You’re really talented man, I enjoyed the video. Your editing and cut always are pretty impressive for somebody your size. Can’t wait to see more!
Just discovered your channel. Love what you have! Can't wait to see ya grow man!
One that I believe ya should've mentioned was Chapter 6 from Half Life 2, "We don't go to Ravenholm".
Just discovered your channel yesterday and have been binging it all day. Great stuff! You’ve got a great sense of humor, fantastic pacing, and most importantly; interesting topics!
Excited to see what you’ve got next!
Dang this is such a high produced video you def need more views / subs
i've watched this entire video and just now noticed its from a channel with less then 1k subs, which is absolutely ridiculous. this is great
Yoshi’s Crafted World terrified me as a younger teen
The Red Dead Redemption series could have its own list of scary moments. For an action sandbox game, it does horror better than a lot of horror games.
I’m happy that this list doesn’t just use the same 5 Nintendo game moments every other countdown video does.
Also don’t apologize for being “late for Halloween”. I love when channels don’t limit spooky videos to October.

I hope im not the only one that thinks the level is unnerving
Me too, it was calming but also extremely creepy. Kind of how angels are described in the bible
It's not surprising at all if you are familiar with the first game.
I remember being terrified of the triceratops that chased you in Crash Bandicoot Warped
Amazing content! You're a rising star and it is criminal to see how few subscribers you have! Can't wait to see more!
Wow. This content is so good. Very underrated
i just stumbled upon this video about thinking about this but man i really loved this video, your editing is so so professional and i hope you gain recognition
This is great! Your going places man, just keep up the good work.
So glad this popped up on my home page, great video man i'm definitely subbing keep it up!
I haven’t seen someone so worthy of more subs in… I don’t know how long… Great video man! Hope you find that catfish!
Great commentary, great word use, humorous, no just throwing random meme references or images or other annoying things. Good pacing and editing, not dragging on & on. Great vid. I see potential in you. Keep it up.
Bruh you need to keep making more videos, this shi gold
I can’t believe A Hat In Time wasn’t on the list! You should make a sequel :)
I didn't realize this was a small channel until you mentioned you've got 60 subs. Great video! Keep up the good work!
I'll always remember that Uncharted 1 Drake's Fortune level! It got me then, it gets me now
A hat in Time definitely takes the cake for me when it comes to surprisingly scary moments.
The game is one of the most cheerful and colorful games I've played, yet Queen Vanessa's level made me almost sh*t myself.
Don't forget that the Joker will jumpscare you at a random point after man bat does in the same fashion.
funny enough these are usually my favorite parts of games and tv shows! i just love when non horror stuff has a creepy scary part
Amazingly constructed video fr, caught me off guard when you said you had 60 subs so I had to look, HOW
Amazing video, definitely here for the long haul, keep it up.
The piano in Super Mario 64 also scared the shit out of me as a child. I was genuinely terrified to go into that room
another banger video. You deserve more subs
I greatly appreciate the support! Thank you so much! This made my day
Great video! The content is fresh and interesting, keep it up!
this popped up in my recommended n im baffled u dont have more subs, fantastic video man +1 sub
I'd argue that in the Red Dead universe, NO ONE gets a happy ending
I really enjoyed this video. How is it you only have 72 subscribers?? Hang in there you are going to do great things on TH-cam
Yoshi's Story for the N64. Getting carried away to that creepy tower when you died was insanely scary to 5-year-old me.
When I was younger and played Mario 64 DS , I swear it was almost everything but Big Boo's Haunt (and the eel) that scared me. The piano did nothing for me when it probably should have, in retrospect.
as a far cry 5 player, the car in o’haras’ haunted house made me flinch when it honked
Wow well done this was a great video. Honestly keep uploading with this quality and research it'll pay off i'm sure
if you've never played Vampire the masquerade, the hotel level is one of the best examples of what this list is
There were so many jokes in this that I would have subscribed a dozen times by now.
Always spooked in in DK64 at the Aztec temple (I think) you grabbed a golden banana then a voice out of nowhere says “RUN.” and crosshairs are trained on you
For me it will always be the "on/off" level in DK Country for the SNES...my poor 9 year old self...
Ps: Great Video man :)
The Orphanage section in Dragon Age Origins. Rabid Dogs, Ghostly Caretaker, Creepy Children Rhymes/Laughter, Ritual Shit, and it's all thanks to a fucking Rage Demon
Great video, this video is so welldone that i thought you had like 1k subs, only when you made the joke about your subscriber count i noticed it.
i would be so down to watch a 2h video by you about star wars legends tbh
Robbing the cradle from thief deadly shadows! Highly rec looking it up for anyone who isn’t familiar. Has actually been cited as an influence by various horror devs despite being a single level in a non-horror game.
Im sad psychonaughts wasn't mentioned
When you enter the girls mind who teaches you the energy orb you can ride on, there's a creepy room inside her mind
subbed, I'd love to see more videos from you
First one that comes to mind for me was in twlight princess when links crush starts raining down and she has a knife
Subbed. Great video. Great topic.
Keep it up. YT threw you in my recommendations.
AAAAGH WHY THE SPIDER JUMPSCARE, FUCK

i cant believe phantom liberty isnt here
My ex was scared of luigis voice in luigis mansion mostly when he went marriooooo and sounded like a ghost
- "In horror games Ghost chases you
In Hitman contracts
You strangle the Ghost "-
B.Nandor
Also when a Hitman game is more creepy than dedicated horror games like the hospital missions in codename 47 where you have to take out dr kovacs and then kill 13-14 agent 48clones
And the professor ort meyer
Also the sanitarium mission in Hitman contracts
Where you have to escape after killing 48 clones and ort meyer
And meat kings party where you can see chopped animals and butchers butchering them up and even a boss fight when saving the halfway chopped clients daughter as proof that it was sturrocks brother
And also in
traditions of the trade
In the Budapest hotel mission
You can find a Ghost in the 1st floor and if you steal a police Uniform you can kill the Ghost
Great video, keep it up!
I am completely devastated that there was no pikmin 2 submerged castle or pikmin 3 formidable oak in this video
Outer wilds has some pretty dun moments too
Edit: omg I need to shut up about that game
Good stuff mate
Man-bat is the exact same concept as the Lizard from Spider-man. Using animal DNA to fix something that the scientist is lacking. Weather it be hearing or an arm.
Underrated af
Super well made video! Consider me a new subscriber :) Going to check out some older stuff you’ve posted as well now
Hitman contracts has a creepy part with bloody place and roaming ghost in hotel mission
Correction, four levels in DK64 are haunted.
There's a haunted shipyard and fungi forest turns into a spooky level at night.
Does anyone know what music is played at 1:14? I want to find it.
Dude there's no way you only have 7k subscribers
Wasn't expecting a Serbian Film reference in my gaming videos ... not even the sacry ones.
Cameron Parker
August 28 2025
From a stubbed toe
nice vid
This vid better blow up
24:35 That boy can sure throw deez hands.
Nuts
If the Desert of the Knaaren and/or the Zombie Chickens from Rayman 3 will not be on here, then I am going to do something... mean.
Like making you write bad checks.
Bro mentions the meat factory in postal 2 but not the literal nightmare scene fighting the evil Gary Colemans
"Postal 2 and, by extent, the previous entry"
Have you played Postal 1? It was definitely not created to mock the anti-video game crowd
surprised you didn't mention dark light crypt or any of the other spooky areas in Skylanders 1
I don't want to post spoilers but if anyone wants to play a game where the focus is on 'you're god-like and we're going to make you feel it' only for the tone to completely change for a quest about 100 hours in, play Warframe. you'll know when you hit the first horror questline and it's my favourite questline in the game. it's so good. oh well. rap tap tap, kiddo.
Anyone else freaked out about that one boss in earthbound its been a while but i remember being scared
25:35 "Most dramatic scene ever."
When I had to go to the well in ocarina of time I refused to play, I was 6-8 years old when I was scared of that
