one of my favorite Cornette pieces is when he had Meltzer on to talk about Montreal Screwjob a few years ago. you can't deny Meltzer's wrestling historian credentials, he's a total nerd for that stuff. Meltzer since AEW's inception however sees a man in his 60s desperately clinging on for dear life to remain relevant and "cool" and it's pathetic. I like that Cornette still chin checks him for this nonsense despite their lengthy history.

We're seeing this in a lot of aspects of life as more and more people get involved with the internet. Politics especially, it's not so easy to get people to believe lies when they have the truth sitting in front of them. Have to wonder how many of his subs are just old people who don't use the internet much and have been subbing to him for decades
Either way he won't be able to retire before like 80. No 401k, no business provided health insurance, idk. He's in a rapidly dying medium with a ton of competition rising up, nothing stands out with WON anymore outside of if people like the personalities. Meltzer aside, I'd say Roman putting one of his family over doesn't mean much, considering they fed the entire roster to him for years. All you have to do to find Dave's sources is trace back who used to wrestle in PWG. It was local to Dave and he frequented there a lot. Excalibur owned it and essentially sold PWG to Tony Khan, which was a massive chunk of the initial roster of AEW

Alot of those youtube channels do, thats why i stopped bothering. All it turned into was them repeating what he'd said and it's gotten progressively less accurate as the years have gone on. It shifts blame from them for misinformation cos it's not from them, but it makes those channels look really stupid to even bother mentioning his stuff

Brian put it best in a recent clip - they've burned people for years and now they're paying the price for it and it's too late to win most of them back over. They thought they were untouchable. Dave thought they were untouchable. Dave thought HE was untouchable. The world rapidly moved past all of them when enough was enough (around the time Punk quit)

It's never been in this much abundance though in short time periods. It's very clear that sometime last year or year before his major source left WWE, and it comes off like he somewhat recently lost his main AEW sources too. When was the last time you saw Meltzer make the front page of Squared Circle? Sean Ross Sapp does all the time. Meltzer doesn't break news anymore, that alone should be a sign that things have changed rapidly and that this isn't the same Dave from even 2 years ago. Getting stories wrong or having wrong opinions is the Meltzer brand.
Dave is constantly just looking for his "gotcha!" moment, the moment where something so unreal and unbelievable happens to justify his endless glazing of AEW. Like he's dreaming of Warner Bros making AEW a billion dollar deal or something. If he's claiming that he doesn't make a personal effort to push AEW, he's just flat out lying.
Remember when he mentioned The Rock and HHH teasing a match at this year's WrestleMania? Turned out it was 10 Years ago.
Did Dave actually tell the truth years ago or did he just say things Jim liked to hear? Dave was one of the guys giving the Midnight high star ratings in his magazine and Jim was boasting about it in the locker room (as he's admitted) Lots of guys like Bischoff have talked about the lies Dave posted back in the day but people like Jim believed it because he was anti Bischoff due to Eric shelving a lot of older guys Jim looked up to. I can see this being the case as Jim is notoriously petty when it comes to disagreements.
91 million dollars in ad revenue!!!!?? Is he high? wtf. Anyone who knows TV knows the entire schedule(outside of sports) doesn’t make that much.
The family should be the ones reporting on the deaths of the wrestlers. Why do you need a scoop on that? Sad.
