Welcome to the club! I have to adapt SPS I get from other halide or weak LED (Radions)tanks even at similar PAR readings just because it's so much better in the violet region and can cook the most exposed edges.
This thing is such a beast. I’m thrilled with it already. Will be covering it in-depth in the coming days/weeks. Stronger than an XR30 for half the cost. Wild.
I’ll have plenty more where this came from. Going to cover this light fully. I am absolutely loving it. Stronger than an XR30, for half the price. With WiFi, different spreads, 3 year warranty….unheard of in this hobby.
Same way, but according to spectrum readings, these are the better light. Aesthetically, probably nothing beats a Straton. Don’t even know how they pulled that thing off - stunning.
What are the width of these and this is why I ask because I have 7.25 in width to play from front to back in my hybrid system. It says in the website the are only 5.64 in wide, and I am sure the power stickks out an iinch( hopefully not more)
@@Manosetremor You’ll be cutting it close, I’d say. You might get away with it. But to be safe, I’d order it. Heck, it’ll probably look cleaner with the right angle component.
wow, i mean i only have a IM Fusino 40 but I was considering a light upgrade and it was between the Hydra 32 and the Radions and I'm blown away by these lights. I noticed that for my tank they even include a mounting bracket where with the Radion that's an extra $90. Not sure how close to reality these lights are but the spread and colors look fantastic on video.
Not sure if you follow Telegraham, but he’s as close to a reef LED light expert in this hobby as you can get, at least as far as I’m concerned. His content tipped me off to these lights. He runs one. Apparently, it is literally superior in power to a Radion XR30. And the spectrum blows competitors out of the water. Real research and respect for research results went into its design. I’ve been incredibly impressed.
My Neptune sky’s just gave up. I’d love to know how your liking your light. I need to buy a new light and am worried about pulling the trigger on it. The interface seems intimidating.
I am going to film a video doing a deep dive on the interface after I get done grading about 600 essays - lol. I’m a university instructor and it’s the very end of the semester. I’m hoping to have the interface video up within like 10 days. It’s actually not bad at all. It’s not as flashy as the Mobius or Neptune interface, but it’s wholly functional. It’s actually more straightforward, I think, despite not looking as polished. Also - I am in love with the lights. They’re performing stupendously. 3 year warranty, way more powerful than the big names, two sets of reeflectors in the box to change the spread to your liking, WiFi connectivity…it’s crazy that these aren’t more popular. That Aperture hype machine sure is strong. Only reason these aren’t over twice as many tanks.
Not pink, but certainly has a purple hue for me with all channels cranked to 100%, which is how I’m running it. After the episode, I was informed that the Uno 2.0 is actually stronger than not just the XR15, but the XR30, with superior spectrum also. For stats like that, for $480, I’ll take a slightly purple hue 🤣 However, it’s worth noting that I’ve never been a deep blues kind of reefer. Not my thing, but many love those deep blues.
You can see the color difference between your new video and old videos. Very excited to see the head-to-head comparison videos you are planning. Thanks for doing this.
It does that because of the way higher number of LEDs in the 390nm-420nm range vs. other brands. When I photograph I turn down the violets since orange filters don't block that region out and phone cameras over compensate. Looks great in person.
I bought my first tank a few years ago and one of the biggest mistakes I've made is using Radions. Sure they look good on the tank but I got absolutely no par out of those things. Next tank will be Reefi Uno's and Jebao return pump. Brand name in this hobby doesn't correlate to quality unfortunately and that's with a lot of equipment I have tried by Ecotech.
The argument from the Aperture camp is always “but the warranty and service!” And I’m like…yeah ReeFis have a three year warranty. EcoTech can’t touch that, nor the other Aperture brands. And the Jebao warranty is: you can buy a thing 5 times for the price of 1 piece of EcoTech gear 😂
@@ttown918 Because hype. And Aperture is pretty good at generating that. But by any logical measure, Radions are not worth the cost, when compared to the field.
I’m not looking to like incur thousands in expenses to do it overnight, but over time, absolutely. I do not trust entities like them, in the long term, to have my best interests as a significant part of their war plan. They just don’t care.
@@MikeLemming I’ve got the Apex and my DOS units left. Also my return pump, which is Neptune brand. But these are tough to justify replacing. Lighting was too, but man, I just couldn’t bear it anymore 😂
Nice color on the lights and 👍
Loving the appearance. Great product so far.

@@kalamazoo_reefer yep first light I've been able to keep clams under since my halides. Total par monsters and huge heatsink keeps it quiet
I came here after you last podcast episode. Im trying to decide between this lights or Quantas
@@Moreysreef Totally depends on what you’re looking to do. What kind of coral will you be growing, and how big is the tank?
Thanks for the video, thinking about getting one for my 24x24 cube tank.

You went and got them. Nice.
Sometimes a reefer’s gotta do, what a reefer’s gotta do.
I have to watch this later!
It’s just a quick overview of what all you get in the package, but trust me, I’ll be putting out several in-depth additional videos on these lights!
Looks like some really awesome lights. Love those warm white leds, I really hate cool white leds
All about the warmth, brother! The cool does not do it for me.
Nice! I always neen intrigued by these lights. But i cant get the ATI Stratons out of my head! Lol

I’ll take an exact measurement for you, and will measure how far the cord sticks out before you can reasonably bend it over.
Okay, the 5.64 inches is accurate on the unit itself. For the cord that protrudes from the unit, I’d give yourself 1.5 inches of play.
@@kalamazoo_reefer So i will need to get that right angle Daisy Chain DC Cable that he offers or I wont have room

Why would anyone keep buying Radions that cost more, put out less light and by all accounts are a pain in the ass to use via Mobius?
