Could you summarize that obvious coherent story? I can describe the events that I saw, but the narrative was all but nonexistent except in as much as it is a series of disconnected events with no clear motivation or purpose. I saw a person(?) driving fast in the rain and dark for no apparent reason. He then crashed because a drone zapped(?) him. We found out that he was being pursued, but why? No apparent reason. He ran through a field to a dome then stopped in the open for no apparent reason, even though his pursuers decided to walk to follow him as he ran. There were a bunch of chest bursted corpses on the ground for no apparent reason. He yanked out a nose chip on a wire with a pair of pliers. What was it and why was it up his nose? No idea and no apparent reason, but it was certainly durable enough to withstand being yanked around with pliers and could easily have been not up his nose. He uploaded his nose chip to a tablet (his consciousness? the secret code? his mom's chocolate chip cookie recipe?) and then collapsed in the mud, for, you guessed it, no apparent reason. The pursuers caught up to him as he wallowed in the mud and then cut open his chest for no apparent reason. One of the pursuers ran back to their vehicle, which we learn is full of clones/androids/guys named Tim which have now been activated. As they approach, he doesn't shoot any of them in spite of the fact that they are all unarmed for, a final time, no apparent reason. This looked really cool and I have a lot of respect for the skills of the group that put it together. It sounded good, the atmosphere they created was spooky and futuristic and blended high tech and agriculture in an interesting way, but the narrative was almost nonexistent. I am certain that they knew what was going on in this story, but they didn't create a vehicle that made that clear to the viewer. Could I invent a story to fit the visuals? Absolutely. But that's true of almost anything. Did this guy break out of prison then free some inmates? Did he clone his consciousness into multiple bodies to escape the evil overlords? Are they all aliens and he is the last human, trying to smuggle humans out? Did Monsanto grow some evil corn and this guy is trying to break the story? It could be literally any of those or a dozen more, and there is no good reason to think it is any of them in particular.

@@Nailnuke "It's a short, a really good short. If you want a beginning a middle and and end you need to go to the cinema." nope. Even a 2 page short story needs the same things a longer story needs. The story around the core idea is arguably irrelevant. Even if there are few tasty bites and references in here, what's important is the one and only true fight that would involve every single person, the struggle for freedom and how far you would go to attain it. Nice work.

@@Squidsvfx Thanks. I'd like very much to see a better screening of "Corn".
I think everyone is assuming that the one trying desperately to activate the equipment is the "good guy". It strikes me more that he is trying to destroy the cornfield and must be stopped, which seems to have happened.
This was a very interesting watch, but even with reading the description, there isn't enough backstory here to make it memorable.
Me encantó, no obstante no comprendí por qué el individuo de negro no se defiende, sino que aparentemente se entrega, aun teniendo un arma...
weird i did not get it
it's totally fine not to get it from first run. the story is very abstract and can be viewed from several different angles. thanks for expressing your thoughts though.
Thay was very abstract. Great visual effects.
What?
Need to view this on larger screen to get a better grasp of the characters and landscape. Interesting Thanks
😮😅😢. Lunatic Asylum
So grim.
I thought I the video looked like AI generated scenes following a set of prompts, strung together to make a video. I have no problem with this, and think it would be a cool way to make a movie without needing to hire a cast and do a ton of filming. I thought I understood the story up until just before the end.
NO Ai used at any instance of the movie. it's a true Cgi render. A behind the scenes will be published soon. thanks though.
@@Squidsvfx No offense intended.
@@SteveRowei know buddy, i just wanted to clarify. Have a wonderful day :)
I really love your vibe!
Cool. I mean, I have no clue what it was about. But cool.
"Are you my mummy?"
I saw this several years ago, maybe before our timelines or universe's merged 😮
I need mI need more😁ore
Well, that was Dark. Have humans created androids who they are now trying to stop ?
you could be right, maybe ?
Thank you TH-cam and Dust :)
Films are a lot better when the dialog doesn't complicate the plot.
457 👍's up DUST thank you for sharing 🤗
I enjoyed what I saw. It leaves you wanting to know more. I could do without the over use of Han held/shaky cam though.
happy to know you enjoyed the film. i agree that a lot of people dislike shaky cameras, I just though it would add much to suspenseful mood of the film, I might have been wrong, maybe ? ... thanks for your comment though.
want to make a surprising DUST movie? A DUST movie that people remember and talk about? Something unique? Make a DUST movie with a decent plot and reasonable ending. Jeezus.
i am so sorry you did not find the plot as decent. don't you think it is a subjective thing ?
I really wanted to like it, but it's just trying to be too much without being enough.
The story around the core idea is arguably irrelevant. Even if there are few tasty bites and references in here, what's important is the one and only true fight that would involve every single person, the struggle for freedom and how far you would go to attain it. Nice work.
Very good! Just too many unanswered questions...
Hey the guy reminds me of my dentist
Made it halfway.. Plot - dude has breathing issues
i wish you would have made it all the way to the end, maybe you can think of it differently ? just only if you are open to give it another shot, no pressure though buddy. have a good day :)
That"s how I felt everytime my ex girlfriend called my name.
Another good looking yet ultimately pointless dust piece.
It doesn't say anything, doesn't tell anything about the world it is set in.. annnnnnd doesn't go anywhere.
No story, no point
Can someone explain to me in short what this is about, it looks interesting. I haven't had time to examine this closely. Thank you!
its more or less that freedom comes with a price. does it make more sense ?
@@Squidsvfx Interesting! I thought it relates to a former dispute over whose physcial bodies get used for energy on another planet of miners because they ran out of extraplanetary laboring miners to generate the energy. One of the expendable staff members knew his department was next on the list for extraction or deletion and runs away lol
@@spiralking-daringlybold6862 this mostly true for the background story. amazing guess. thank you.
🟦…Audio dropped-out completely, (@1:49~2:01).
it's part of the sound design. maybe your speakers? it's working on my side though.
Strong Stalker vibes
"This time with actual stalks!"
The Coming "2025"
This is next level schitt
Interesting!
pretty good !
thank you :)
I did not understand it, to me it wasn't a metaphor but opaque and lacked finesse. Technically it wasnt bad and the sound was good. A short film should leave you wanting more but this made we want less. Id like to see further work that concentrates mire on making a cohesive film and less on cleverness.
thanks for the constructive feedback. and thanks for taking the time to comment, it helps me learn about my flaws so I can improve next time.
Sorry but this was good. really moody. Who's the good guy, who's the bad ? Kept me on the edge and not much does that !
@@Nailnuke thank you, the goal was to not highlight an exact protagonist or antagonist, the bad could be good and the opposite can also justify.
A little context would have been nice, otherwise very stylish!
thank you, i totally agree with you. the thing is that sometimes its a bit difficult to create clear contexts in short films, however, in this movie i wanted to focus on the big picture regardless of the context. most of the acts here are metaphores for different morals.
Creo que le faltó más contexto. Hay muchos huecos en esta historia.
Feeds the imagination.
Nice to look at but what's the point?
Guess that secrets out but you didn't hear it from me.
weird, i did not get it
I didn't see any symbols or metaphors. I did see some corn.
It looks great but... not enough light and.....maybe hire a writer, one who doesn't substitute symbols and metaphors for plot. I can go outside at night and watch dark. Terrible "film" overall. I won't watch another.
Either we are supposed to understand some pre-established story arc or have knowledge of the source material, or this is deliberately confusing.
