Had a friend whose family bought several cows and named them all. They raised them for a good while, and then one day they were gone. I asked where they went, and my friend informed me they had been sent to the butcher. A week or so later, he invited me over for a cookout. I wanted to help out, so I volunteered to grab the meat from the deep freeze in the garage. Open the freezer, and there are stacks on stacks of beef cuts, each with a name on the packaging. Beautiful buffalo and a great healthy heard. Good job by the farmer and the Doctor helping the animal. I've seen similar looking buffalos in South East Asia as well. I'd like to know the average lactation period and the highest milk yield of these swamp buffalos.
I am no expert so this is rather conjecture but I'd bet he sticks with the workout because out in the field one doesn't want to run the risk of forgetting to charge it or spooking animals who are skittish. Especially if for some reason he has to do it on a young calf. But you make a very good point.

Not sure if its usually done with acid but for curly horned animals the practice of burning their horns off as babies to prevent this situation is fairly common.
@@melmoomlem7321 From what I know, they use either a special acid or a hot wire. This way the cells, which cause the horns to grow, are destroyed. Burning of cells with acid is also a practice used in treating badly ingrown nails of humans. The finger or toe will be sedated and after cutting the ingrown nail piece out, the nailbed gets cleaned with acid to avoid a new growth in this area.
A caustic paste is applied to the horn buds . You people out there carrying on about dehorning ought to get educated. You've probably not seen the damage these animals do to each other with their horns. They are not all sweetness and light.
