I found the video very helpful. But according to me, you had a upper hand because you did really good projects before applying to PhD. I only did my masters dissertation, nothing else. It'll be difficult for students like us to get an admission i guess 😔

But it will be really nice if you could also enlighten present and prospective students on topics like : avoiding deadly frost bites and fighting - 20 degrees Celsius weather, how to open a Citibank a/c in India itself and open one in USA thus facilitating withdrawal of funds via ATM Card in USA and remitting some stipend money back home, how to retain important whatsapp contact info and chats on Jio / Voda / Airtel, what recourse you have if you don't receive your monthly stipend, what to do if nobody from your University comes to pick you up at the airport ( extremely scary since you can't trust anyone - crooks are waiting eagerly at all airports ) Looking forward to more of such amazing content from your side - all students are bound to benefit from your valuable experience and advise.
Phd in economics requires extensive mathematics background. For someone with a business background in their bachelor's with no access to such courses or no scopes for accreditation, what should one do to cover up the contents or enhance their chances of acceptance?

How much does a professors interest affect admission decision?. I had gotten a a positive reply from a professor who told me he would get in touch with the admission chair however I was rejected from the university. A lot of replies I had gotten were for example, " I am interested to take you, please let me know if you are admitted". Do professors actually have a say in the admission comittee?
It is very difficult to do PhD some times you mau fed-up mentally and think about suicide So please be sure if you are having 100% patience in all maner and no hurry for earning money having good support of money and you can skip your marriage atleast for 7 years than only think about PhD 🙏

Do you think someone who does not have either of the two also stands a chance? This has been my biggest inhibition. Since, PhD was not my initial plan I never really invested a lot in research.
Hello Mukti, Projects and research papers influence an admission decision greatly. However, you can still prove your interest and capability with a work experience or internship or any substantial piece of work supported by a strong SOP and LORs. All the best :)

TOEFL/IELTS is still a necessity I think. You dont have to mention the scores in your emails anyway
