I had this getting into Harvard since i was 14 so , As you said - do your best in what system you are .. i did my best in 10 board and achieved 10CGPA. now am in class eleven and i want to start my preparation to the required examinations instead of wasting my time . so please provide an information which includes - 1. must required examinations 2.essential books to prepare those examinations. 3. i love to code and even now i code so am on a plan so i need a degree at harvad and what is the required course to take i mean computer science of course . i mean i want to know whether BE or BA. The way you explain is very understandable and it helped me a lot . i hope you help me with these issues too. please please please please please please please please make a new video providing the information i wanna know ... Hopefully , Thank you.
Bro now it's not the matter. You can get scholarship by giving sat and according to your parent's financial conditions. They more focus on extra curricular activities rather than marks.

@@marco-vz5kv IITs selection base is study centric , but when you reach there, you'll be getting an exposure to the whole world to identify what is that you are made for and move on with it. Why is it so?? - if they want their students to not only just focus on study but also their environment, the world, then why do they select students on just one base of PCM? Contrary, Harvard focuses on all things on overall development for selection, and then, in college you get to identify your passion your interest and then move ahead with that field. Outcomes of both are same, but the process makes them different. The journey teaches alot about the destination ✨✨
i think she forgot to mention that her father Ajit Nagral is a millionaire and founder of multiple companies. In fact her father and mother were major donors to Harvard Divinity School. (a new program made possible by a generous gift from Vibhu and Ajit Nagral out of their interest in strengthening the Hindu presence on campus.) The Price of Admission book by Pulitzer prize winning journalist Daniel Golden details multiple such cases in his book of Ivy league admissions.

She has a kind face but she forgot to tell us that she belonged to a motherfucking OVER PRIVILEGED family with such a HUGE amount of money and maybe she got accepted because of LEGACY.
The moral of the video is, " You have to be the most genuine and passionate part of yourself that you can ever be for applying at Harvard. Because they have enough well experienced experts to catch in one second that you're being genuine or not. "

Graduating from a university won’t always guarantee success, but dropping out without a strong enough reason to drop out won’t guarantee success either. Bottom line, stop painting a bad picture of universities. It may change your life or may not depending on where you are in your career and it’s completely subjective to you.

@@wendelfernandes8397 not particularly. Good colleges like IITs and NITs are extremely hard to get into but the students that go there end up getting amazing jobs with great salaries. They also make it easier to get into great management schools abroad. BUT if you want to pursue science subjects that lead to professions outside of being an engineer or doctor then going abroad has more scope, it also costs a shit ton and frankly if you fail to keep up you could land your parents into mountains of debt. The best subjects to pursue abroad would be law, arts, commerce related fields etc, while their scope in india is quite poor and not well rewarded, Lawyers and successful artists thrive in foreign nations like USA and the UK

Don’t waste your time. I’ll tell you how to get into Harvard. 1. Great school. Like (The Cathedral and John Connon School) which had tatas ambanis as alumns 2. Great connections 3. Money 4. Support system (parents, recommenders, network),… 5. Desire, passion, and braveness to go away from home to learn. Or it can also be that your family has a support System in USA to take care of you.
And when she talked about extracurricular activities came I was like: bruhh I can't give speeches in my class and you are talking about debates and stuff 👽💀
This video actually shows how you should look at education system, not as a burden, but as an opportunity to grow yourself in the field you are interested about. Really helpful video. Thank you.
I actually wanted to get into harvard and other big universities. When I researched, all I found out was, if you don't have the money, you have no chance. But then people tell me, you have these so called SCHOLARSHIPS. The truth is, you have almost negligible chance of getting that scholarship as everyone is fighting for it like crazy and even if you do get that, it will never be enough to cover all the tuition and living costs in the us. You see I don't come from a rich family. It's this MONEY matter that drives me insane, if it wasn't about that, I'm damn sure I would be somewhere else rn.
Universe will guide you as long as you work hard for your targets regardless of the money!! Life is figure out+(a)ble!! This is my own experience ☺️ !! Good luck
Also getting a overall guidance towards how to avail those scholarships require a great effort which is kinda easy to peeps attending highly acclaimed schools. I attended a ordinary school in the outskirts where getting a good Percentage in boards was the only thing told to us
Hey, isn't Harvard need-blind and once you get in, all of your financial need would be taken care of? I guess a lot of ivies follow this system. Do go through this link- college.harvard.edu/financial-aid/how-aid-works And scholarships and bursaries/financial aid are different. You qualify for the former based on merit and for the latter based on financial need/ income cohort.

Just came here randomly and saw your comment, "gyan nahi ch*d raha bro", but to say something is out of your reach is a way to self-sabotage. And trust me from psychological perspective you are telling your subconscious brain that you are worth nothing, getting into ivy league is easier than getting into IITS, ask yourself how can you make it happen and then work on it. I think its just not "Being born in a rich indian family". That is just an advantage you get. "Luck favours the prepared". She herself was prepared for the challenges of getting into a good college, she kept her scores intact and that is something she prepared for. The fact that she had the money to go through with it was her luck and if you work a part time job during your 11th and 12th, you can also help pay for your college. Not every person who goes to Harvard is rich. It is because they were ready to work hard enough for their goal. Love you Avanti ❤️

Getting in Harvard is not that hard for other courses, it is really hard to get in Harvard Business school and Medical school. Core computer science is decent. Basically 1. Have really good mentors (parents help) who will help you build your resume right from the start. 2. Take interest in things that parents make you do, and maybe excel at them? Even if not, the world should know you excelled at it. 3. Be rich You might say that there are people who make it without these 3 factors. But those are rare exceptions. It's fine to watch these videos, but only when you're maybe like 11 years old and you can turn your life around. Otherwise, trust me it won't help you anyhow.
Yea being rich is important. Financial aids for ug courses is very very less. The whole course will cost around 1 crore. Even if you get let’s say 50% (which no one does) you’re left w 50 lakhs. + cost of living in usa ?? Per month 1 lakh or so. Unless it’s a pg course, scholarships don’t even exist
I want to become a Psycologist because I love study about human behaviour and there is a best friend of mine who is suffering from DID and I want to help her. But my all friends and cousins and relatives say that, "Pagalo ki doctor banane sai phale tu khud pagal na ho jayegi, Choose some other field of doctor." I want to study in Harvard University because I want to show them what I can do. Everytime when I tell people about my ambition I only got demotivation from them.😞😞😞 *But thanks to your video I will do my best and soon I will also study in Harvard University and do my best to become a Psychologist* Thanks you didi Love from India...🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 😊😊
I think you should follow your dreams, and not listen to what other people say! If you're willing to commit to Psychology, then put your feet on the ground and tell them that this is what you want to do :)

Don't let that discourage you, getting into psychology is a very rewarding field as it can open your eyes to alot of things. If you want to become a therapist or psychologist ask yourself if you're willing to put in the patience, knowledge, calmness and strength that is required for your work, if yes, then go for it! You can always make sure to keep a healthy balance to not "go pagal", I've heard even therapists go to other therapists for help and that's normal, you'll learn how to cope and remove yourself from not internalizing your patient's mindset into your own. If once you start and realize that's not for you, I suggest you also can look into specializing in child psychology ( remember once people become adults they are harder to rewire but children are at a better age to absorb healthy psychological habits) OR you can get into teaching psychology at a college instead so you still get to put your interest and knowledge to use.

She explained very well and ofc we r grateful for her making such content... But the reality is still that for such a dream, you need to be raised in higher class families... Coz 1) finances - although Harvard waives it's tuition fees for low income students, it comes after we get the admission... On the way to admission, there are hell lot of expenses... For example, the exams themselves are damn expensive, and it's not over after taking the exam..we need to report those scores to all the universities we are applying... score reporting to single University takes thousands of rupees , like 6-8k minimum....also their centres are in big cities, so the travel and accommodation for going to the city for exam... And so many other expenses 2) proper guidance - these kinda dreams and their roadmaps and the steps to take, all this guidance is easily accessible to only higher class people...and the facilities to attain those steps, those are also accessible to only higher class... How many students you see in Harvard coming from middle or lower middle class? Or from small towns of India? Then whom do we ask the answers to problems that arrive only to middle, lower middle class students while getting admission to Harvard and such universities? 3) extra curricular - It's well known that exam scores are only one part of this admission process... These universities prefer people who have an almost all rounding personality.. that means things other than exams, like sports, activities, events, projects, seminars, arts... Now we come from schools where in the name of extra curricular, we have only one PT class per week.. that too, our science or maths teacher takes extra classes in those PT hours... We come from schools where there isn't proper ground to play... The ground are not even able to accommodate all the students standing for national anthem at the beginning of day....As of events, there's only one annual cultural event, where there are only dances by few students, that's it.... In our exam oriented educational system, no one gives a damn about extra curricular activities or events...hell, even i got to know what extra curricular means when I got into my undergrad.... If you want to build your personality or resume with extra curricular, either you pay extra for tuitions that teach you sports or arts etc, join academy businesses that carry extra curricular activities, events.. or you join a high class, elite, luxurious, big city schools.... 4) well educated and alert parents- Building up extra curricular activities and all rounder personality takes years.... This prep starts years before starting application for universities... Almost when we're kids or young teens... At that age, we can't think of these things or know these things ... It's upto parents to take efforts in this route... For that parents need to know these things, they need to be educated enough to know things... First, There's no way parents of middle or lower middle class students know these things, hell they can't even understand such big things... To this day, they (including my parents) can't even pronounce names of these universities nor do they know which country they are in, what's the process... My parents don't even know what's a visa!! Secondly, all of these parents time goes into working to earn wages enough to feed family... Every day, every month, the sword of lack of money is hanging on their necks... All their time goes into worrying and working for earning enough to make up for food, clothes and shelter.... How are they gonna make time to learn about these things and how are they gonna make them happen??? Other than this, there are many things.... For example, for undergrad, Harvard (or Cambridge maybe, i think most of the universities) ask for letters from school counselor.... Now how many of our middle class schools even have something like a school counselor???? Moreover these people don't know what these admission things are... They don't know what to write in these letters... Similarly, for masters recommendation letters are required from academic professors... Again These professors too, need to be PhD holders and should be credible enough with their works... How many such professors are their in our colleges? How many of them know about these things??? There are so so so many other such things man..... Bottom line is - There are some dreams that we wish, that we might even deserve but they just don't come true because of our backgrounds... But know that this doesn't make you any less worthy... Just because you're not a Harvard grad doesn't make you any less.... Many people who have not even been to college, have lived legendary lives.... Build your own life, build your own happiness... And those who shame you for not being as elitely studied, worked as them, just tell them off in your mind, give them a smile and kill them with kindness....and throw that person out of your life, you don't need such people around you.... And the very last thing - know that success isn't happiness.... Just like a successful person doesn't necessarily mean a GOOD person, A successful person doesn't necessarily mean a HAPPY person..... Happiness is different for different people.. A high class person's happiness might be going to Harvard, a simple person's happiness might be earning enough for family, saving enough for future and having happy weekends spent with family.... Build your own happy life, and as said above, throw out people who belittle you....

For going into Harvard for a normal middle class student is not easy. First you have to have enough money to afford it apart from scholarships and a good support from your family. She is rich, she made songs. She had the resources. It's not that easy for everyone as she is saying in that video as great universities like Howard, MIT etc - you don't choose them, they choose you.
Yes. Background does really matter. Having a sound background is a privilege. Apart from that everything is upon one's ability to make something out of it, but being born into a qualified family actually gives a head-start in planning bigger ambitions. If you get to aim high, you score high.

I really loved the way you explained this. Your voice was so full of calmness and it was amazing. I'm feeling more confident in preparing for this now.
You know what?? This was the best "how to get into Harvard" vid I've seen so far. She LITERALLY said just be yourself and don't have to act what they expect us to be. JUST BE YOURSELF... I was struggling on my essays and HECK I know what to write now!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH sista....❤️❤️
I completely agree about converting your passions into your personal "brand." And yes, everyone, college is just the first step! You will continue creating your brand as a professional. I loved Biology and English in high school. Now, I work in public health nutrition and Bollywood media analysis. To summarize, there were clues as to my passions early on but they evolved over time. I thought going to medical school was my path, but I found my passion for public health when I was in college. I graduated with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry with Honors from Rutgers University. I then obtained a Master's degree from Johns Hopkins in 2017 and I loved it! I crafted my career like an artist. Don't be afraid to start taking notes on what you love and WHY (e.g. cooking, art, graphic design, biology, computer science). What moves you? What type of difference might you want to make in the world? These answers don't have to be final--just start writing things down.
i have the same interest as yours!!! do you have some tips on how I can further them? (I am still a freshman in an Indian HS, with a near 3.9 GPA Average)
my parents told me while i was in school that, don't join any thing in school which cost them money.still regret. No extracurricular activity, average in studies. Endup as a human being who has no passion in anything. Still didn't figure what i want in life.
Benefits of getting born in Privileged family.....Just by seeing the cost of exam application fees it is the monthly salary of fresher engineer in India
The extracurricular point got my attention and I'm currently in 9th. I think I could include that as one of my plus points. Could you please list out the 10 you wrote as reference please? Also.. Thank you for the video!
@Vaibhav Singh i havent really thought of what college i want to go to or in fact what i want to do in my life, but now ec's seem like a necessity if you wanna study abroad
A more simpler explanation or a different experience that i can give as Avanti has also touched great topics, to consider studying in Harvard's they look at you as a person you meet for the first time tell them all the real(tangible/outcome oriented/non fictional) stories about yourself share the inner yourself with so that they can form a perception to how focused are you in the goals you would wonna engage. marks tell the story of how serious you take learning as a task, tough you don't have marks but if you could explain a specific topic as deep as you heart would like to take it, you are golden take majority time is creating the essays as close to your heart because the reader is not looking for a story but a character development in a story. This has been my short take on getting into any top colleges outside India.
If anyone is planning to go to Harvard Trust me if you get past their required score criteria, interview,TOEFL Then their fee's is gonna get you it's about 40 lakh rupees per year and that's just for their basic courses I guess getting into iit requires only half the work and quarter of the fees
You need to be already pretty rich 💰 to get into these Rich Universities 🌎 1. Spend a lot on expensive SAT exams 🏅 2. Get into expensive activities and sports like Golf, Swimming, Academy Tennis ⛳ 3. Try to build a new app/start-up - which all cost quite a lot 🎟 4. Enroll with an expensive boutique consultancy like Eduhaven which will easily cost a few lakhs 🪄 5. Live in a posh society in Delhi/Mumbai so that you already have the "US Accent" 😆
very much... quite true what you said only two ways to get into harvard ... (1) extraordinarily skilled into some kind of subject./ super intelligent, with achievements. (2) even if your dad/ family is rich AF and can donate money to the harvard school, then also you will get admission easily without any achievements or so... (3) there is a third way as well, i.e, if you are an american student and have scored 1550+ marks on the SAT, ASC then also you might get admission but the chances are quite low ...
Yes. The school has been under heavy scrutiny for legacy admissions, quotas for minorities, Affirmative action, asian-americans getting the shaft. Its still a good school for business, but definitely on decline.
You may feel like its business oriented as it has class of 1600 students. But think of it, all 1600 students demonstrate high level of merit and if you conduct a exam for merit scholarship, all 1600 qualify so there cant be merit scholarship. And where there is competition.......definitely its not Overrated
@@samibichumani1176 So when it comes to 'quick meals', folks here in India would still prefer a McDonalds - where approximately there are "1600" folks who walk in daily and order.. Now there might a small time fast food counter in the neighborhood that serves the same kind of meal in a much cheaper price but they wont have 160 orders per day. Most people are driven by herd mentality and are brand driven (mostly "American"). Harvard is a brand which is certainly overrated. If its "competition" always then I am sure true geniuses would be graduating from Harvard than dropping out midway? But then I guess true "academic achievement" for most middle class and elite class Indians is when they get through into the likes of Harvard and Oxford. My friend studied Software in Jondhale Engineering college which is based in this place called Dombivli (google the college and name of the place since I am sure you wouldnt have heard of it). He worked in a software firm here in Mumbai, was sent to the US for work, got promoted there and today Harvard and MIT folks report to him. His studies cost him hardly anything what one would invest into a course in Harvard. End of the day - its WHAT you learn is what counts and not WHERE you learned it from. I was academically "average" back in school and college. Had low grades in Maths and Physics in High school.. thanks to my love of reading books I decided to pursue Maths and Physics (quantum precisely) again at 35. Where am I learning and practising from - bunch of textbooks, Education websites and apps and ofcourse TH-cam. Lemme repeat Harvard is f**king overrated and nothing else.
The way you explained everything and how you are telling your experience in Harvard it shows that what you have gained from Harvard university. Most importantly your communication skill is on another level, got motivated by watching your content and cannot stop myself to subscribe your channel :)
*Coming from a privileged kid* I'm glad that other privileged kids found this video useful but for my poor folks i have to say, You need to be rich to even pay for half of the fee. If you have nice environment and educated parents it makes it more easier. a child who is born into a lower middle class family of India with uneducated parents, no money to pay for even normal things it's impossible for you to get into any big Universities and even if few people did that's rare. It's a bitter fact that not everyone gets big things in life and not everyone have the platform or privileged enough to be able to become the best version of themselves.
Thank you for being so precise with your content and after hearing the procedure you followed and recommend ....this gave me a different understanding of the purpose behind everything we do! Hello Avanti , I am here to clarify and clear my queries about the Harvard University . I saw your videos and one of them naming "how to get into Harvard from India" was really great and it taught me so much mate. To say frankly , am very desperate to join the Harvard university . I am class eleven right now and I studied SSC board till class 10 and now am in class eleven dealing with MPC. So what do you suggest me , I mean I didn't get the complete information about the examinations which are must to be written and please please please provide me the information about how to prepare for those required examinations and what books are essential for preparation . I had this getting into Harvard since i was 14 so , As you said - do your best in what system you are .. i did my best in 10 board and achieved 10CGPA. now am in class eleven and i want to start my preparation to the required examinations instead of wasting my time . so please provide an information which includes -
1. must required examinations
2.essential books to prepare those examinations.
3. i love to code and even now i code so am on a plan so i need a degree at harvad and what is the required course to take i mean computer science of course . i mean i want to know whether BE or BA.
The way you explain is very understandable and it helped me a lot . i hope you help me with these issues too. please please please please please please please please make a new video providing the information i wanna know ... Hopefully , Thank you.

I will be owner of Harvard that day
She explained very well and ofc we r grateful for her making such content...
But the reality is still that for such a dream, you need to be raised in higher class families... Coz
1) finances -
although Harvard waives it's tuition fees for low income students, it comes after we get the admission... And so many other expenses
2) proper guidance -
these kinda dreams and their roadmaps and the steps to take, all this guidance is easily accessible to only higher class people...and the facilities to attain those steps, those are also accessible to only higher class... How many students you see in Harvard coming from middle or lower middle class? Or from small towns of India? Then whom do we ask the answers to problems that arrive only to middle, lower middle class students while getting admission to Harvard and such universities?
3) extra curricular -
It's well known that exam scores are only one part of this admission process...
4) well educated and alert parents-
Building up extra curricular activities and all rounder personality takes years....
Bottom line is -
There are some dreams that we wish, that we might even deserve but they just don't come true because of our backgrounds...
Thankyou for writing this 😢

For going into Harvard for a normal middle class student is not easy. First you have to have enough money to afford it apart from scholarships and a good support from your family. She is rich, she made songs. She had the resources.
It's not that easy for everyone as she is saying in that video as great universities like Howard, MIT etc - you don't choose them, they choose you.
Yes. Background does really matter. Having a sound background is a privilege. Apart from that everything is upon one's ability to make something out of it, but being born into a qualified family actually gives a head-start in planning bigger ambitions.
If you get to aim high, you score high.
Vese what is the need to get in these ib league colleges we have best colleges here like the iit or sub college are too good i dont think there is any need to study in Harvard for better money you can earn a lot from other colleges it's just a hype i guess

So how did it go?
Seems unlikely.

I still have four years to apply to schools, but this was so clear and helpful. Thank you so much
I completely agree about converting your passions into your personal "brand." And yes, everyone, college is just the first step!
How much that all costs??👀
i have the same interest as yours!!! do you have some tips on how I can further them? (I am still a freshman in an Indian HS, with a near 3.9 GPA Average)

Kindly watch on TH-cam this video -(3 huge tips to pass any exam by ILovUAllah)
If anyone is planning to go to Harvard
Trust me if you get past their required score criteria, interview,TOEFL
Then their fee's is gonna get you it's about 40 lakh rupees per year and that's just for their basic courses
I guess getting into iit requires only half the work and quarter of the fees
For undergraduate studies financial stability is also becoming important as universities don't want students to drop out in the middle.
Even though she was from Harvard but she followed her passion respect.👍
I feel like she is doing my counciling
her accent wasn't fake
You need to be already pretty rich 💰 to get into these Rich Universities 🌎
1. Spend a lot on expensive SAT exams 🏅
2. Get into expensive activities and sports like Golf, Swimming, Academy Tennis ⛳
3. Try to build a new app/start-up - which all cost quite a lot 🎟
4. Enroll with an expensive boutique consultancy like Eduhaven which will easily cost a few lakhs 🪄
5. Live in a posh society in Delhi/Mumbai so that you already have the "US Accent" 😆
Hey pls make a video on extracurricular activities of Harvard .....
Quick question - Isnt too much of international attention getting Harvard overrated?
very much... quite true what you said
only two ways to get into harvard ...
@Bani Satsangee good luck running the rat race.
The way you say “karna hi padega” melts my heart🙃🙃
That accent is a thing of beauty ♥️
Why?
@@ayushshankar2744 um because it's nice to hear? What other reason do you want?
Yeah what accent is that though? It doesn't sound that american nor indian. It's somewhere else completely! It sounds lovely.
@@Sudha0112 it's just Indian version of american.. that's a thing too these days..
Its close to american! I mean ofcrs you have to spend ages there if you want that 'sass'!
