    Maduro is my favorite wrapper. I tend to gravitate more toward sweet tasting notes like chocolate and creaminess and that's what I get from maduro-wrapped cigars.

      As my top choice I very much agree with you. If you haven’t tried the EP Carrillo La Historia, you’re in for a treat. One of the most unique cigars I’ve ever had, the Mexican wrapper is next level. Cheers!

    Great video.
    I agree 100%. Been enjoying cigars for decades now and can say wrapper leaf is where most of the flavours come from, but also to your point, you do need the binder and filler leaves to round it out and aid in flavour and aroma transitions.
    My fav wrapper leaf is the Aromatica Doninicana, which is a proprietary wrapper leaf Davidoff uses exclusively on the Royal Release. By the way, would LOVE to see you review my fav cigar. The Royal Release Robusto.
    I’m also a big fan of West African used on the Don Carlos No. 2.

    My favorite full body cigar is the La Aroma de Cuba Reserva Maximo. Box pressed with a Mexican Cuban seed obscuro wrapper.
    The only problem is I enjoy it so much that I tend to smoke it too quickly and make myself feel sick.

    I only just started last year. I kept trying things, but I noticed two cigars (infused) that I like a lot: Sweet Jane and Isla Del Sol Maduro. I took off on regular flavors from there, and if it says Maduro, I gravitate towards it. I have a palette that is not very sensitive, so I need a punch in the mouth to taste. Like a London Club Punch Clasico Maduro, one of my favorites (when the draw and wrap aren’t screwed up).

    Ashtons aren't my favorite, and I rarely buy them, but I recommend both as good starting points for beginners who maybe aren't sure if they like cigars and/or people wary of maduros. Aside from being approachable, they are amazingly consistent. I would pick a Padron for myself any day, and people have different tastes, but I can't imagine anyone who likes cigars not liking at least one if not both of those Ashton standards.

  • @tayday424
    @tayday424 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hemmingway is excellent. So easy to light and i find it can be smoked down further than most others; it never accumulates too much tar.
    Also, others cigar smokers, do you find your pallet evolves without converging onto a final favorite, or does it converge into a flavor profile represented by a relatively narrow range of cigars?
    Ive only been smoking for a few months and for a while i swore on Olive serie O, then i found the La arome di Cuba Mi Amore irresistible, then the Hemmingways and now i can hardly smoke anything except a padron, preferably 1926 but most acceptaby a 1964 or more regularly Oliva serie V melanio maduro.
    Cheers ladies and gents.

    Hey HOLTS ! What happened to the 6packs ?! Seems like a crappy business decision on your end.

    Here's an idea no one has tried: package those same cigars that have the different wrappers together, so the customers can see that. Yes doing this is easy for you, you own a cigar store, but that's not realistic for the customers who 1- can't know which cigars are sibling cigars, 2- don't wish to buy 40 or 50 cigars just to try something on a whim, BUT bundled paired cigars together... would be great.

    I think you vastly overrate the effect of the wrapper on flavour. It's but 1% of the overalll cigar's volume. IMHO, its mostly just optics.
