    We stock these blocks as well as the Crossbow rated Blocks
    When it comes to the cost vs longevity, they are the best option.
    The Crossbow Rated block costs more but holds up longer.
    The key to making these targets last is rotating each side before it get worn out.
    Use broadhead on only one side.

    If you read the top. It says to shoot broadheads in the top or bottom only. Great target reviews

    Thanks for the great target review. I have the same target and what I noticed with broadhead is the ones that turns upon impact (Deepower, or single bevel) will pull out the outer foam when you pulled them out. The one ones that don't spin on impact- like my QAD Exodus, don't pull out anything when you pull them out. I'm no where near the 500 shots though.

    I like the dice target from Morrell. It’s pricey but works really good with my compound and my bare bone bow. It hold up well with broadheads.

    Great video. I have that target. As I understand from reading the target the top and bottom are for broadheads. Says only field point on the sides

    On my 3rd one and still use all 3. #1 for field points. Great target all around. I’m following along for a comparable or better target. Thanks for this 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    I think there just may be NO training target besides maybe bound straw parallel to the arrows direction (like kyudo-makiwara) that can withstand hunting broadheads for a significant amount of time. They're designed to cause damage and be kinda hard to pull out, so that's what they do. Really waiting for the "filled cloth bag"-type of targets :)

    I have what appears to be the Cabelas version of the block. It has stood up bery well, except that it is a bit awkward to set down. I rigged a harness to support it against a styrofoam back stop. I think it is still about the best value for money followed by the hurricane bag target, that apart from the covering being wrecked still traps arrows.

    I’ve had two of those targets. After I wear all the dots off I use golf tees as aiming points on the in between areas. I also rotate the target each session. So far I get about a year out of one. I shoot about 100 field points a day out of a 46 pound recurve at garage distances.

    High roller! I’ve had mine for 1&1/2 years and I shoot a lot. And it finally gave up the ghost. I filled it with expanding foam now it’s back in the game! I got the hunt 365 I like that 1 too!

    Shooting traditional broadhead with sloped back like a Zwicky Eskimo, you can use straw bales for targets. Local bale costs 6 bucks. Sloped back broadhead allows arrow to be withdrawn without pulling big chunks of the straw out. The bale actually mimics the torso of a deer sized animal with no bullseye to aim at, similar to hunting.

    • @MrMann703
      @MrMann703 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Which is fine and good but not everyone has access to a straw bale and then there's the mice who love straw also so not very practical

    For field points, I really like the Bigshot ironman target I must of put thousands of arrows into that target by now, and it's still hasn't had a single arrow pass through, but can't use broadheads on it.

    Try the Morrell High Roller. I’ve had that target all summer, and probably put between 5000-10,000 myself. Not including my dad. It’s still holding up plenty strong.

    I’ve found that a high density 6 inch thick piece of rubber that’s used for weight lifting is one of the best things you can shoot broad heads at , you can buy it in 2 & a half foot squares , it’s specifically made for dropping weights on when you dead lift so this stuff is very tough . I’ve bought 6 squares of it & managed to seal it together having a penetration up to 10 & 1/2 inches & it doesn’t damage your broad heads & you can leave it out side rain or shine without any problems , just make a stencil , paint it & your good to go .

    Sure, it takes a lot of superficial damage, but it stops the arrows without being crazy difficult to pull them out again. That's a winner in my book.

    I wonder if the maker ever tested these targets out first or they just do a quick make and sale .
    I use field point for target so it’ll work for me , but probable have a dedicated cheap target just for a couple of shots before going to the field
    Don’t forget to show the stats like how much these weight , price, total shooting surface area .
    I’m using the $30 target from Walmart and it’s still doing good , but not sure about 500 shots n Broadheads

      I use them. Same material as the 18-1. They work awesome. I prime and paint them orange and they are awesome for long range that way. Nice orange ball.

      @@pennyontrack Thanks. I've never tried them, but their actual portability (it's basically a 9 inch round ball) really interests me. Have a nice weekend and take care.

    • @pennyontrack
      @pennyontrack 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@sebastienraymond3648 the only thing that is a little weird about them is they are weighted (bottom of target has a layer of small gravel inside it) so when you throw the ball it always lands with the target right side up and when you hit low on the target your arrow will hit the rocks. It’s only the very bottom inch or so of the target and if you hit that low you would likely be hitting the ground anyway.

    • @sebastienraymond3648
      @sebastienraymond3648 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Foam targets and broadheads just don't go together. Makes me sick each time I need to sight mine in.
    There needs to be a broadhead-only target, maybe gel of some kind or a target with a gel core that can be easily replaced so the foam is intact.
    Or just buy a cheap target for broadheads since you don't need to do a lot of repetitions.

  • @logantyson1450

    Don’t get this target if you shoot micro diameters out of 60lb+ bow. I shoot 72lbs and it punches through a lot and pops the foam out of back. Also don’t get it if you shoot single bevels. As you pull them out it takes out a lot big hunks of foam as well.

  • @frankiebob7345

    Your low tech arrow pulling modeling does not reproduce what happens when arrows are actually pulled. everyone twists the arrow first to break the surface tension. Even the 18:1 after it is twisted is not difficult to pull out. experience judgement which you do comment on might be best. An old lever arm torque wrench to measure torque to break free not pulling lbs to break free might be best. Yeiks! 500 shots is absolutely nothing.
