Mr Cousins is right, Syd Bucknor couldn’t handle the mixing board at Channel One, Ernest Hookim took time to learn the board and all of the outboard equipment & discovered Syd Bucknor didn’t touch certain parts of the equipment. Channel One had the best equipment on the island at the time, also the best sound system with Mcintosh amplifiers.
It’s a shame what happened to Channel One with it being just an empty shell of a building with people breaking in & stealing what they could take. Roy Cousins is a legend.
These stories from Roy are so historical, I could listen to him all day.

JoJo regretted doing so much Studio 1 covers, I told him that it was a good thing because people started looking for the original Studio 1 piece so both Channel 1 & Studio 1 records sold well in the 80s.
Channel 1 went to USA because of the Computer Rythms JoJo preferred real musicians this is why Channel One went to the USA.

Its true what you said about sid bucknor every recording he did at Channel one always come out distorted I know he tried his best but wasn't good enough. 😉

You see this man Roy big champion its true what Roy is saying about coxsone how he thump Ernest hooking because bunny striker Lee tell me anyway after coxsone thump mr hooking him leave and go all the way to joe gibbs studio and beat up mr gibbs .joe never made anymore that belong to studio one I said to bunny Lee what a situation to be in but I said to striker you used studio one riddem as well bunny said yes but me have the right singers to sing the ridding I said to myself it make sense because bunny had Cornelly Campbell delroy Wilson slim Smith bob marley horace Andy Dennis brown etc these singers come from studio one so them have the right to sing them songs over again that's why coxsone could not trouble striker that make sense..one love mikey
