    This game is way better than I thought it would be. This is the traditional Zelda formula we all wanted with a twist, it’s very damn good. I feel like a lot of the fans will love this game, and playing as Zelda feels so natural it’s like it’s already been done that’s how good it is (don’t count the CDI games)

    If I'm being honest I'm concerned about the direction the Zelda Team is going. Freedom is all well and good for just messing around in a sandbox, but if there's too much freedom it becomes a serious detriment to the rest of the experience. I don't want EOW to fall into the same trap that TOTK did and introduce so many mechanics that they inevitably trivialize all puzzle solving and exploration. Even if a puzzle has multiple ways to be solved if the same general strategies solve every puzzle then puzzles cease to become engaging, and instead become tedious and boring. I'm worried the Zelda team is going overboard on this idea of player freedom instead of focusing on what i think made BOTW such a smash hit, and that was the amazing sense of Exploration and discovery.

      It's not a new engine, it's not new art, it's not new assets... Have you seen what real remakes look like? Crazy N'Sane Trilogy, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy 7, Dead Space, etc?
      OoT is more in line with Xenoblade Chronicles DE (only Xenoblade DE looks way better than OoT 3D) & Luigi's Mansion HD.

If you see the assets from both games and tell me with a straight face that they were just ported and just "improved geometry", you either haven't really seen them, you don't know how 3D modelling works or you are just trolling.

    Did they really say that the theory behind games was to gradually remove restrictions and make things more free? Because if so, that's a little disappointing to hear, personally. I believe that restrictions can lead to creativity. Like having one problem with five different solutions versus one problem that you need to think about the sequence of events given your current items in order to find the one solution for. Personally, I think the second option is more fun.

    Too much freedom can lead to boring bland generic puzzles that are super easy. Part of what makes zelda zelda is having fun puzzles that really make you think. A link between worlds is a perfect example of having some freedom in the order of dungeons and stuff but the puzzles within the dungeons were complex ans wonderful. I'm hoping that this balance they speak of doesn't diminish the complexity of the dungeon puzzles. A link between worlds had some serious head scratchers that felt super rewarding to solve. I'm playing a game callef phoenotopia awakens right now and it has puzzles and dungeons that rival my favorite zelda games. Highly recommend to every zelda fan. It's an absolutely massive game. You can sink dozens of hours doing side quests and mini games and exploring and that's just the optional stuff!

    • @envytee9659
      @envytee9659 10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +6

      See, that's the issue. I never once felt that I had to stop and think with any puzzle in Link Between Worlds. Nor did I ever feel like 99% of the puzzles in any pre-BotW ever made me stop and think. The reason why is because all those games were so limited in scope and possibilities that the solution was always right there.
      With BotW, TotK and EoW (which I just finished) I found myself stopping and thinking through what I was going to do multiple times. It wasn't because the puzzle was necessarily "hard" (because no Zelda puzzle has ever been) but because you have so many options in these new three games that you have an entire list of possibilities you can run through for each task.

    • @EmeraldMan25
      @EmeraldMan25 10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +3

      A puzzle is something that only has 1 solution. If it has more than that, it's not a puzzle, it's just problem solving.
      I personally love puzzles. Problem solving is great too, but it can get a little exhausting sometimes keeping up with a ton of variables. I'm happy for the people who love problem solving, but I can't help but feel a little disappointed in hearing them potentially abandon traditional puzzles

      Echoes of Wisdom is structured exactly like Link Between Worlds. You complete a few dungeons in any order of your choice, then you get a second set of dungeons you complete in any order, then a final boss.
      This is honestly vastly superior to other 2d Zelda games which forced you to do the first three dungeons in one specific order when that order really didn't even matter in those games.
      The 3d Zelda games could have also been change into a similar format without messing up the story.
      Look at Ocarina of Time. Once you leave the Deku Tree and meet Zelda... did it really matter whether you did Jabu Jabu or Dodongo's Cavern first? No. Doing either of them in any order wouldn't have changed the story. Same goes for the medallion dungeons. Doing them in any order wouldn't have changed the story.
      Echoes of Wisdom and Link Between Worlds were also considered to be open designs, and that design was much better than a strictly linear approach. If the future games follow this approach, that's the best of all worlds.

      @@envytee9659Back in the day when we got a new item in each dungeon which were also needed in the dungeons that followed the order did matter.
      I have an example where the order in which you beat 3 dungeons didn't matter and what it did to the dungeon items?
      In Phantom Hourglass (Which despite this one problem is still a great game.) the order in which you beat the last 3 dungeons doesn't matter. Usually you'd beat the goron temple first where you'd get the bomb chus (don't know if this is the right name in english. I mean the bombs that crawl around.) The whole temple is built around them. Outside this one tmeple though, you barely use them. Neither of the 2 other dungeons can use them because then it'd be impossible to beat them out of order. I basically forgot about them all together.
      The same thing happened to the hammer.
      The only item I did use regularly was the grappling hook and this only during back tracking.
      Basically the only time you used the hammer and the bomb chus were in their respective dungeons and at the very end in the temple of the oncean king.
      Personally I preferr when there is a given order in which you beat the dungeons in so that every dungeon can make use of your entire arsenal of tools and therefore elevate it's puzzles and items.

      @XanderVJ 3 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@envytee9659"Vastly superior" my ass. ALBW still suffered a lot from its non-linearity, having one of the weakest dungeon rosters in the series. They were better than the dungeons in BotW and TotK, sure, but that bar is underground, so there's no merit there whatsoever.
      The story is far from the only thing that's been diminished by the non-linear structure. As a matter of fact, that's not even on the top of the list.
      We'll see if "Echoes of Wisdom" somehow does something to remedy this, but I'm not holding my breath.
