This is awesome footage. Led Zeppelin played 5 shows at Earls Court in 1975. Tickets were around £2.50 to see the greatest pure blues-rock band the world has ever known. Can you believe that, £2.50 !! The band played for 2 hours and 30 minutes at each gig and because the shows were so long, the band interspersed songs with these ad-libbed less frenetic pieces to give the musicians a bit of a breather, for example, the acoustic set didn't include Bonham so he could rest, and then Bonham would do a 20 minute drum solo on Moby Dick, to give Page, Plant and JPJ a rest, and No Quarter mostly featured JPJ in a marathon keyboard solo. This particular piece definitely introduces the audience to a yet to be released excerpt from Achilles Last Stand, about a year before it appeared on the Presence album. Two and a half hours high class entertainment featuring Led Zeppelin in their prime for just £2.50, unbelievable. What are tribute bands charging nowadays ????
Plants high notes coming out here is honestly a small miracle. He had had vocal surgery a year prior and during rehearsal he couldn't even hit the highs he hits in this video. The crew were concerned he wouldn't be able to make it through the tour. Somehow he did though.

"If your going to San Francisco " . I'm on to you this is an excerpt from " Dazed and Confused", and that's why it has no proper ending !

Actually, it's not the music to San Francisco, either. It's the progression Plant sung the lyrics over it 73 to early 75, but SF is a completely different piece of music. This fantastic little bit of D&C actually ended up as part of Achilles Last Stand in a different time signature. Plant didn't sing a song from the 60s over that, though. Just some rather awesome ooohhhhs! (Yeah, you're right- it is 'Zep's Rendition' of SF, but just thought I'd clarify)
