I’ve been playing Heresy for ten years, and the only difference this list would have had two months ago is the recon squads; nobody was taking them. I’ve almost never seen a game without contemptors or leviathans, for instance. They’re just too good to leave out.
Great videos, thanks for all your effort and hard work! I’d love to see some list building videos later down the road where you try to make some more competitive lists for each of the legions (especially EC lol)!

I'm building up a dark angels deathwing force and am going to be including a unit of despoilers and two assault squads, I would be interested to get your opinion on whether hand flamers are worth bothering with. I have an assault squad equipped with volkite serpentas already but was thinking of going hand flamers on one of the other squads. Are hand flamers worth bothering with? And would they be better on the assault squad or despoilers?
Hand flamers and volkite both are bad ideas on assault squads. You're basically paying 4 points per model to eat a return fire and make your charges harder.
@@Hearesy I was thinking of doing traitor white scars with allied sons of horus and black reaving rite of war. Thought was using recon squads en masse to slow the opponents advance, before counter punching with Rage 2 Justerain

i wish that the -Deimos- Sold-out pattern rhino was more in stock. i really want one but i dont want to overpay for it, i can wait (but i still really want one :>) And the searchlight is an absolute must for me. Not having much options at the moment (i just started collecting) of where to put one ... and look at it on the rhino, its adorable
@@LoRdInTeRwEbS thats the one i meant. The deimos rhino has had its Plastic model released on the same day the horus heresy 2nd edition launch box came out. And that one is sold out since launch (I think it had one restock that was also sold out after half a day, and my local shop told me they cant even backorder it)
I come from playing a lot of Bolt Action too. I've no idea what people think APCs and tanks are for if not for mobile infantry protection. Protection from entrenched infantry/specialist squads, protection from small arms fire, protection from enemy vehicles, etc. People seem to have a skewed idea of a tank's ability to bring down a building. They aren't great force multipliers either - thats why planes (especially bombers) and naval carriers to deliver those bombers exist. There's a reason these vehicles are collectively referred to as "armor".
Yeh! Its generally considered “gamey” in warhammer to use tanks to block and obstruct and I have no idea why - its the most narrative thing for tanks to do, especially glorified battle taxis!
a friend of me is going to get a leviathan when its out in plastic and i have to say, as a space wolves player, i dont know how to deal with it. Normally i would say "just stay out of its way since its so slow", but that gets trown out the gaping hole in my house that was left behind after alpharius yeeted (deep striked) this thing into my face XD
It hits super hard, but is only going to kill 3-4 marines a turn in melee. A 10-man tactical squad or equivalent will hold it up for 3 turns in melee if they dont run away!
I tbink you either go thunder hammer, hope to live, and murder your opponent at i1, or something like power mace and hope to go first and win. Depends on legion after that, but I’d use the fastest ap2 weapon you can get, generally, or the fastest s8+ weapon. Very hard to say specifically!
@@Hearesy yeah that's the problem :) blood angels, so +1 to wound. With rending 6+ and +2 attacks I really like the claws but u really need some luck to get through 2 wounds of 2+ save. BA weapons do 2 wounds and give +1s more for +5 points but they are 2handed. Really interesting sidegrade and pretty cheap
Im glad someone was enjoying them! I think I might have to give up doing them - Im not well read enough to know lots of quotes, and searching for appropriate good ones takes more time than youd expect :(
I disagree with a few of your choices and you didn't even include regular Catapharctii Terminators, Veterans and Sicaran Arcus, which along with javelins and Dreadnoughts are truly the best Legion units.
Love the update you have done to your format to include text and photos to help with reference when you are explaining something.

What would you recommend to put on a cataphractii sargeant for duels? Not super into the special blood angels weapons but they sound fluffy

What do people think on Despoiler Squads? I was thinking of running EC Despoilers with Sonic Lances to get the Pinning status off as often as possible
Better than tacticals if your legion is that-way inclined. (From memory that would specifically be DA, EC, SW, BL, WE, SoH, WB)
would a terrax pattern assault drill be good to use?
