Before I discovered your project here o TH-cam, literally 2 days ago, I was working on a similarly styled 2d mmo but coding everything from scratch and doing most of the art , I am a professional game dev with a studio but I like to make hobby games in my spare time. I’ve already learned a lot of great ideas from the way your handling things..

i think the dungeon area specifically could benefit from a fog effect or darkness effect so the player needs to explore the darkness, gives it a creepier vibe, could also do that in the forest map with fog
I love the name. In Brazil, it's funny to use this because we use it for someone who is on drugs. It's from the word 'para(noia),' and it's the same in Portuguese.
I don't know why? I keep on getting feelings nostalgia when watching the game play of your game. Reminds me of EverQuest. IDEA?: For you game if you choose to use it. Similar to EverQuest. Once in a rare blue you can run into a rare monster which would spawn randomly within certain zones or area's within the game. Not certain but people would hunt these rare monsters because it involved an "EPIC" quest. The purpose of this quest was to allow the player once they hit a high enough level to Quest for rare items in order to fashion an epic weapon for their class. For example if you were a Shadow Knight you would go to certain parts of the world and "CAMP" certain locations based upon hints in order to find these rare drops. Once you collected all pieces you would go to the NPC which started your class EPIC quest and turn in all items in order to receive your epic Shadow Knight weapon. All classes in the game had the option to quest for an epic weapon and an epic story line would follow, making the journey very interesting and felt epic. Just an idea....
EQII originally had 1 per world items called "Mythic" items, I believe. They relaxed that item rarity to mean something else now, but back in the day it was rewarded for a first world kill of a boss, or something along those lines. I don't think I would ever do something like that. I knew that the one time drop items existed, I knew I would never get one, but even worse, I never even got to see one. The people who had gotten those drops quit well before I even got to play. So it seemed like a waste. If a player wants to skip a dungeon and never go in, that is fine. That isn't development time wasted. But if I prevent a player from experiencing content for some arbitrary reason the player can't control, that is not smart.
This is epic, although I can't seem to be able to rotate the game on my phone. I like tilting my phone to the right when I play but the game is locked on left tilt, even when I turn screen rotation on. Is this a fixed thing?
You should take inspiration from diablo 2 and I think you should go a little darker artstyle and storyline, skill and gameplay machenics like diablo means your game will blow up. Just found your channel and I can see a bright future. Subscribed!
on your mobile front i wish controller support was better. while an android version sounds nice, some of us have steam decks, and noia does play on them, except that without a mouse/keyboard attached the experience isn't great. what you just did for mobile is right in line with what controller support would need, and weirdo's like me can play this game handheld on their steam deck(or other handheld device)
The wording in the new terms is still very ambiguous when it comes to what counts as an "Initial Engagement", even if it is self reported. here is also no assurance that Unity will not simply change the terms again in the future. Without those clarifications and assurances, Noia will still be the last project where I use Unity. Thankfully any future project ideas I have are simple enough that they could be made in any engine.
@@noiadev I can definitly get ur point. Im glad they did something for now. Unity messed up real bad with their changes last week. For me personally, I will stick with Unity but I WILL learn a new engine aswell,incase the scenario happens that u just mentioned. But I have not lost my trust completely.

started playing today and I really enjoyed it. Its cool to see these dev update vids. I'll be playing from time to time and keeping an eye on this!

Oh yes. I played a lot of EQ2 back in the day. Open world group content, "ring events", world bosses, class quests....it is all coming back baby!
