Question on the factory TCM for the 68, you mentioned it being tuned separately from the engine. Is that a 6.7 ECM/TCM working in unison or is that 68 controlled completely "stand-alone". I'm following your content in hopes you get a 68RFE behind a 5.9 so all of us 4 speed geeks can add a few gears.
We are using the factory ECM (CM2100) and factory TCM from a 07.5-09 truck for the race and dyno trucks. These are the only 68 equipped trucks with a separate TCM. The later trucks have the TCM integrated into the ECM. With the separate TCM here we can flash it by itself to make transmission changes and not have to worry about reaching out to our engine tuner for trans revisions we want to be able to make on the fly.
Maintenance is the KEY. I do partial flush every 20k-25K and a full flush 100K only with synthetic oil and trans additive. Maintain clean anti-freeze fluid that helps to keep engine and trans run cool. I never had any problem with my auto trans.
I have no reason to question your claim IF you’re using the truck as a daily driver, but if you’re putting the truck to work and pulling over 8K and as heavy as 17-20K once in a while, along with hills/mountains, I’d have to say that you’re lucky beyond measure or full of it…I’ve been doing everything above for years now. A manual transmission (G56) is the only thing to hold up outside of an Allison swap.

I would never install them dry ... I know its a bit messy on installs .. but I know they are pre-lubed and less chance to wear quick. Let's put it this way .. This company may do it .. but I will never install without soaking my clutches. The manufacturer of the clutches even say soak them .. I dont like them exposed to the elements either hanging on a rack .. I like my stuff covered and protected till they are ready to use
My 68rfe got to 322,000 miles before it lost 4,5,6 and it was so loyal it still got me home with no converter lock and 1-3, I wasn’t even mad
How often did you service it?

You can convert it to an Allison transmission. All problems solved.
Want to make an RFE last? Simple, dont use it.
Want to know what works? Ask people that use the truck as it was intended to be used, for WORK@
Well, what works??
Couldn’t make it ten seconds into the video with the air blasting.

Do trans builders no longer soak clutches in atf for a little while prior to final assembly?

Its good to do it but it really dont make a difference. Once your pour fluid in it soaks up like a sponge.
so the clearances will change afterthe clutches adsorb fluid. hmmmm
