After the video was posted, it came to my attention that you can't activate both of Lamia's Effects in the same turn, so the combo I talk about where you get to Destroy 3, Draw 3 isn't possible the way I described it. I'm sure I COULD have read this correctly any number of times, but I was too blinded by a play sequence that was too good to be true.

Very sorry for the misinformation, I hope this helped to correct it. Despite the mistake, I still think it's a good card for the deck. Thank you for understanding, and I'll try not to flub effects like that again!
Hey, Speaking of venoms earlier, you can use Venom King & Venom Deity, another royal couple, for a fun unkillable, instant win boss monster.
That is certainly a way you can take the deck! Vennominaga is not a goddess to be trifled with!
@@GoldenNovaYugioh I thought about it cuz of Null discard effect, which Venom king is a Dark, and the fact that the deck dumps alot of reptiles to the GY, since Viper's Rebirth, and Offerings triggers Snake Deity Rise, it makes sense.
Why not call it a the ahyss family reunion deck
The TCG name is Ogdoadic, which is what set off the Ogdoad theme flag in my mind, but I like that you were able to point it out.
Really like the designs of the monsters of this archetype

I can see that, they do seem like the same stereotype on every card.
This archetype feels like a deck designed for an antagonist or villain for the final arc of o.g. yugioh, not quite broken or overpowered in the current format but in original DM wouldve set up free Chaos emperors and BLSs really giving Atem/Yugi an actual good final opponent before their final game.
I’m actually pretty interested in this deck. Not just because of their playstyle, but I am in LOVE with their designs. Black and gold go very well together.
Also quick rambling side note, I love Ogdoabyss’ design in particular because last year, I came up with a line of Pokémon based on Fetterlings (basically snakes composed of chains), and the final stage was a winged serpent. So seeing another winged serpent with Egyptian inspirations kind of made my day.
Putting that aside, though, one card suggestion I have for this deck is Imperial Iron Wall. Sure, Aleth can potentially retrieve some banished monsters, but aside from chaos variants, it would be pretty nice to have a way to prevent your monsters from being banished in the first place, whether from their own effects or by your opponent. At the very least I feel like it’s a good side deck option, but you never know. Also if you made it this far, thank you, and have a good day/night.
I can see the Imperial Iron Wall argument. If it's effective enough, I would say it would make a good side deck card against Dinos? Keep them off of Misc and UTC.
So far my favourite Abhyss decks are the lair version (as it is works the best, by allowing for you to use your opponent’s monster as tributes and it allows you to go into rank 8 plays a lot easier) and the just spam Ogdoabyss at nuke field and control with a lot of traps deck.
I've gotta say, after the stream with them, I've gotta agree! Lair is such a crazy out to just about everything!
Finally a good reptile deck.
Ive been aching for this ever since Ive seen the card "Venom Splash" as a kid and thought it was so cool. "I can deal 2100 damage! How amazing is that!!!" This deck really fuels my Nossstalgic ssside.
It'ssssss good to ssssssee another player who apreciatesssssss thesssssse sssssnakesssss!
I've tested this deck for like a month straight in my free time, and while it has lots of flaws, it's not as bad as many originally thought. It's a decent/good deck that has a surprisingly good grind game and consistency, and it's pretty versatile in the builds you can make with it, like invoked, chaos, etc. Giving back your opponent cards is a huge flaw I do hate, but at least in context of what the other cards do, they make sense. Plus, they do a better job at punishing the opponent for doing stuff, even in moments they get a card back from your abhyss effects than Generaiders ever did. That's why I think Abhyss is the best of the 3 new ancient guardian archetypes.
Those are some good insights, and while I don't want to go into it TOO deeply here...

In all seriousness, I'm *super* excited to try out Abhyss and see what I can do with them. I love their art, their effects seem super interesting and different from what I usually play, and there's just a ton of room to mess around with different combos.
Oh yeah, the room for creative deckbuilding here is massive, I can't wait!

I love this deck and it was really cool seeing you playtest it. I cant believe lair of darkness and snake rain are relevant in the year of our lord 2021. Now we only have to wait for a reptilianne hydra reprint lol.

Missed the premiere. But I know one thing, Snake Rain is going to clear from the sky.
Fr though Riki is the goat. He can be splashed in every possible team and take any role.
I have figure out two simple 2 cards combos, with Null and Nilhill, or snake rain and one discard. The goal of the combos is to turbo out the Anhyss deity as fast as. With the first combo you send Dawn to GY with Nihil, and send Sunset to GY with Null. After that speacial summon Null from GY by its own effect, then use Dawn eff to tribute Null to summon itself and Nilhill from the GY. Nilhill speacial summon eff now activate, allow you to grap the lotus spell from deck. After that, use Dusk eff to tribute Nihil and summon itself from GY while return your bannished Null and Nilhill back to the GY. Atlast, you link summon both Dawn and Sunset into a Link 2, then use the Lotus spell you graped to send Deity from deck and speacial it back to the field because you now have 5 reptile monsters in the GY. Alternatively, this Combo also works with an Aliester and Null if you play the Invoked variant, by using Null effects like the first combo, after that normal summon Aliester-search Invocation, then overlay Null and Aliester to King of the Feral Imps to search Nilhill and continue the combo.

I've been combining this deck with Vennominon/Venominaga as well as Lair of Darkness. It works nicely. I've always wanted a deck that could use Vennominon/Venominaga. This deck fills that void.

Well I just ordered mask change 2 because of this video. My version is invoked but I'm looking at uses for earthbound immortal Ccrrayhua and wicked acolyte chilam sabak. They both seem useful to me potentially.

Ok this archtype is pretty cool wish there was a character in the shows that used more of the not so well known types like this or the Suship one. Oh yeah Gold thanks to you Ive made a idea of using draitron ritual plus Meklords combo considering that Skell has 1 level and 2200 ATK that can help with the summoning

hi where do you get the names I have noticed that some of the cards I have are one in the same but the name is different just wondering.
Yo you can use reptilianne lamia's special summon effect and it's synchro material effect in 1 turn because it's a "one effect per turn and only once that turn" clause, god it'd be so nice if that wasn't the case tho, even still her plus a lvl 4 is a pop 2 and draw 2

My favorite deck in Master Duel hands down it breaks combo chains and if I run 3 alien brains I cause people to surrender especially blue eyes players

He kinda suicided with Lamia during the last round....which I don't think he expected to cause we were having a good convo. Yo dude, this is the Gishki-Synchro player! Love reptiles especially snakes. And while this does seem fun i can see making use of some of the cards and who knows like dinos, koonami will make more support and maybe release a few really good monsters that make this or any future reptile decks a power house.

@@GoldenNovaYugioh I decided to go for a turbo Vennominaga. I can easily summon vennominon from the grave after using snake rain. Or even damage=reptile let’s me summon him. And I have Trap Trick for more Rise of the Snake Diety. And even if I don’t draw any of those pieces I still have my extra deck monsters to choose from. It’s pretty fun.
And you can get a free summon for Dark Diabolos by tributing any one dark monster. No matter it's rank or level.
That's very nice.

My current two hang ups, if it would interest you to know them, is
1) Explained Videos have a easy to follow structure, and considering the turn around time, it's much easier to justify putting time into them then trying to figure out Lore stuff. I hope it doesn't sound too lazy, but I don't wanna lie about the production end of things.
2) I honestly want to do a lot of this Lore stuff as Audio Dramas. I think it would be interesting to tell these stories with actual characters, rather just recount events, but that requires getting a crew together.
Hopefully I can get some good quality Lore Projects done soon, and hopefully if I can ever cut out my 40 hour work week and do this full time, I can commit to making them as good as they can be! Thank you for reading and supporting me!

The tech cards are the same i thought lol, and yeah Mask change II can be really good, or instead you could use super poli, aaannd Chaos space with levianeer White and black dragon can be really usefull to send an abhyss card from your Hand to the GY, and you can even ban the starters of the abhyss for the 2 dragons and then use aleth to recycle them. Now the lair build Is interesting, i tried It and it's good against things like dragoon, Herald ecc... But the thing Is, for now there Is bishbalkia, 5 token to use and cosmic pincer Is too good. I really want to play a lair of abhyss but for now there Is the big boy bishbalkia to use... Still Mask change II it's a really good side card. Thx for the video

Hey u tested the shaddoll archetype
Building an ogdoad deck was my first objective going into master duel. God help me
I suggest Reptilianne lamia (by ogdoadic water lilly) + kurse (just tribute to null then special summon nihil for lilly) and get chaos angel on the field, giving a free banish while also zeroing an opponents attack. Protection is always amazing and the play is super consistent. But note that chaos angel isn't reptile so it's no longer optimal to play ogdoabyss.
If you can't do that bc u didn't get snake rain and don't have enough mons for lilly's effect, I use the zombie vampire (null, kurse, nihil, aleth = two lvl 8s) to flood the graveyard again with up to 4 monsters (usually only 1 or 2 though).
Finally, if you use ogdoadic with lamia, I also suggest nyami bc u can special summon her when u get one chaos angel on the field using lamia and zeroing an opponent monster and if you have enough effects for more lvl 8s (which is what usually happens), you can get another chaos angel and get another free banish. Also consider coatl and melusine
forgot to mention, running chaos angel also prevents playing echidna
They work amazingly well with the new Raika (Ragnaraika in the TCG) cards

I would think that Evil God Ananta COULD be a good addition to the archtype.
Ananta has the ability to get HELLA big, but the destruction effect feels too slow to be worth it. And you banish all your cards, that bites xD

Abhyss definitely needs both a better payoff and searchers/enablers. Ogdoabyss is strong, but pretty lacking.

@@GoldenNovaYugioh if you play a combo version with zombies it can work pretty well. Solitaire can get you into chaos ruler to kill eldlich and Abhyss cards. Zombie world can turn all Abhyss in grave into zombies to revive off of something like sanguine. There are a bunch of neat interactions between Abhyss and zombies. Vampire sucker can trigger queen and let you draw, for example.

@@GoldenNovaYugioh it's pretty awesome. There are multiple cool combos to go to. For example, null+uni-zombie can get you into a ton. Null can send aleth, then special summon itself. You can normal summon uni-zombie and then use it's effect on itself to send mezuki. Then you can xyz for king of the feral imps to search nihil. Nihil can pitch itself to send curse. You can tribute your xyz for curse to summon back nihil to search snake lily. Now you can banish mezuki from grave to special back uni-zombie. You can use it's other effect targeting itself to discard a card and make it four so you can synchro into chaos ruler with uni-zombie and nihil. From here it really depends on what you have access to. You have null, king of the feral imps, and aleth in grave so if you mill any different reptile, lilly is live to summon back something (since it sends then summons). If you can put any other body on board, you can tribute it to summon aleth to put back mezuki and nihil and then go into coach king gigantrainer for a draw three. Sorry for the essay but the deck is super cool to play. Eldlich stuff serves as defense and possible interruption.
I really LOVE this deck especially after getting some new cards. Ive always LOVED snakes and have wanted a good snake deck...However the name they decided on is...very disappointing. Abhyss was a perfect name for the deck...yet they decided to change it to a name thats hard to pronounce and in my opinion kinda stupid...it really hurt me emotionally...just like when they changed Processlayer into Mathmech...sometimes i really do hate Konami...

Hey, no worries, I'm always happy to educate!
So, while they/them/their can be used to talk about a group of people, it can also be used to talk about a singular person if you want to keep things gender neutral.
For example, if you saw someone playing a video game and wanted to know what it was, but you didn't know the gender of the person playing it, you could ask "What are they playing?" You're still only referring to a single person, but it's still conversationally correct.
I strive to use gender neutral language in my videos because the language used by a lot of YGO players, and nerd/geek spaces in general, is dominated by cis male voices and it doesn't usually address/acknowledge anyone outside of that very narrow demographic. But I want to try and make things better and more inclusive for everyone.

This Card really bites me, while I am a fan of these veningly monsters, but snake rain is coming to be poisonous to play against!
