I get what they were going for with the maintenance cost. Tributing pendulum monsters during your standby phase meant you were getting rid of their floodgates to start your main phase, and you could just pendulum summon all of them right back when you were ready for them... it's just a pity the monster levels were all over the place, and the scales were way too stingy for a deck that doesn't let you special summon non-archetype things anyway.

The amorphages worst downfall came with the link era. Now they can't even summon a link monster, which means they can only pendulum summon 1 monster from the extra deck. So they will never be able to fully pay their maintenance cost without outside support.
the most likely ran out of mechanics to block also the sins were combined turning the 9 sins into 7 sins. according to the wiki, goliath is vanity (fitting lol) that was combined with envy and depending on which sin youre talking about are ether combined with another sin, used a different word/name, or was just outright dropped.
@@Bezaliel13Minor history lesson, apologies. There never was 9 at the same time, but the Amorphages' origins per the OCG are the Greek/Latin *eight evil thoughts,* the seven deadly sins' precursors, the list itself being almost about the same as what we got today, except for namely Vainglory (which Goliath is named after) and Sorrow. The latter I assume is what he's referring to as the "ninth sin," which nowadays has rolled in with the older definition of Acedia in Apathy to make modern day form of Acedia as Sloth, and Vainglory as an extension of Pride, making Envy a new addition altogether.

Ways I would make the archetype better. 1. New monsters with effects that activate upon leaving the field by a card effect, and a better version of that effect if it was from an Amorphage card's effect. Also, give them pendulum scales of 1 and 9. 2. Swarming and more searching that ignore the Amorphage floodgates. Like, seriously, why does this deck have no swarming? 3. Some form of negation protection that's not obnoxiously overpowered, but still reliable. 4. A Link monster that's either an extender or helps with swarming. With how slow this deck is, maybe it could get away with a Link-1, but it should probably be restricted to only being summonable once per turn, depending on how good it is.
Honestly I feel like what this deck really could have benefited from (besides just better scales to work with) was either an archtype-specific means of influencing scales like Yosenju Shinchu R or the Star-Timegazer magicians where you get better scales for sticking to the Archetype... or a card that allowed you do something else besides tribute to keep monsters on the field. Something in the vein of the Kokai Meiru cards. Also possibly either a boss monster or something to that effect that added an extra wrinkle towards the floodgates. Either making them go from Vanity to Majesty monsters (read: only locking your opponent out of them) or making it so that the pendulum effects become their monster effects, increasing the range of flood-gates you can have out.
"They're like the Dallas Cowboys of the Yu-Gi-Oh world!" Mmmm nah, at least the Cowboys have SOME success in their history. This is more like the Cleveland Browns

Can make additional attacks per battle phase, and gains 250 ATK/DEF, equal to the number of face-up “Amorphage” cards you control. If this card is destroyed by an opponent’s monster (by battle or card effect); You can equip this card to that monster, and if you do, you take control of it while this card is equipped to it._ ATK/250 DEF/250
I have been cooking with this pure occasionally for years, MR 4/4.5 absolutely destorys this deck's longevity. Basically either play Dragon Gate or ignore them entirely.
Ok, so Amorphage monsters are supposed to be corrupted versions of pre-existing creatures, right? One way the archetype can be fixed is by leaning into that, with a new Amorphage monster of each main monster type, symbolizing a monster of that type being infected and mutated after being defeated… We could have names like: Amorphage Pyre (Pyro) Amorphage Torrent (Aqua) Amorphage Heresy (Divine-Beast) And so on and so fourth…
they would need to be able to fix the scale issues as well as allowing for copying the effect for the desired lock downs as to fix the scale needs to remove one of the lock down effects. as well as some protection or hell some work arounds for more flexibility
I love playing dragon decks, especially Lvl 7/8 dragon spam. My favorite combo I was able to do pretty constantly was send Goliath to the GY with Trade-in, Shrine, Dragon Ravine, or as XYZ materials (if it was summoned with Nebula dragons effect) and bring it back with Arkbrave or Return of the dragon Lords. Dragon Decks aren't the best but being able to finish off a board with Number 38, Goliath, Ruins of the dragon lord, and a Return in the GY was a pretty good turn 1 stun that didnt take 5 minutes to combo.
Goddamn, the Cowboys are even getting roasted on a Yugioh channel.🤣 Starry Knights could probably qualify for one of these. They're a neat idea, but it'd be great if the archetype didn't revolve entirely around special summoning their boss monster from the hand and not anywhere else.
The only support I can think of it could be a couple of Link Monster (Amorphage Link 1, Link 2 and maybe link 3 all pointing Down). A new Field Speel that searches on activation with a similar effect like Dragonic Diagram. Even with that, it still hard to play it soe yea, good luck hoping that
Nephthys are actually fairly decent, even in this modern meta. It's one of my favourite decks to play, only you shouldn't play it pure 😅 a lot of the Pringle level 2 Nephthys cards are slow, so i'll have to agree that it's a failed mechanic (I only play Desciple of Nephthys)
Maybe the best thing for the deck would just be a couple of consistency. Like a spell that said look at your opponent hand or top 5 cards of their deck. Then add of amorphage monster from deck to hand maybe a hard once per turn depending on power level. Then a link 1 or 2 that could revive itself. And summon tokens during the draw or standby phase.
Yeah, we all thought a Flood Gate archetype would be amazing, but for all the reason you mentioned, it flopped super hard. If it wasn't for the maintenance cost, I think the deck would be decent. Maybe you can do Graydle. It's another archetype the community got excited about because it was the "Snatch Steal" archetype. But it ended up sucking too.
What hurt this deck? Besides lack of support 1) Their scales. Half of their monsters are outside of their scales so you cant pendulum summon them back. In order to get the ones outside your scales in play, typically required you to tribute them. Which you wont keep for long since you gotta pay that maintenance cost next turn. So their only useful for 1 turn usually 2) MR4. While the maintenace effect of the scales were fine due to the spamming output of pendulums before MR4, now you are limited to link zones. And hey guess what, they have no links they can make since their monsters lock you into Amorphage essentially just by you taking any action summoning them. This also means the recovery is also extremely diminished. On top of that, the spell/trap utility is very limited. Going from 7 to 5 now, of which 2 is dedicated to your pendulum zone, 2 to your continuous spell/traps so now you have 1 alone to work with 3) Its extremely xenophobic. It hard locks you into just itself. On top of that, it doesnt even work with its lore associated archetypes, being Dracoverlord. Your stat boost and floodgate cards would cripple them from taking full use of them. It also lacks synergy in some areas. Such as the field spell cant be searched in-archetype, nor the Amorphactor it searches. Lysis replacing your pendulum scales, does not stop them from making you pay its cost, because, guess what, its still the standby phase 9/10 times you get to use the effect 4) Recovery...now after MR3 there are little ways to recover your cards outside of cards not searchable within your own archetype...so no consistency. On top of that Lysis, which was suppose to help mitigate your maintenance costs tends to miss timing. Once your monsters are stuck in the ED, they tend to just stay there as you can no longer spam pendulums, nor utilize link monsters zones 5) Interaction...they lack it. Sure they gain advantage with Infection and their field spell, sure, but remember, you essentially have 1 spell/trap zone to work with, so have fun. But really, they have no in-archetype way to get rid of your opponent's cards outside of battle. Truly a floodgate deck and nothing else
the best cards to put in your scales are the ones stopping monster and spells. your opponent will only be able to use traps and a normal summon their first turn and have to pray you cant pay the cost. getting two or three level 4 and/or another to normal summon and you got both guard and a mystic mine/imperial order combo set.

It's a damn shame, I love this arctype and I still use it to this day I even mix them with generaiders, the only difference is the deck usually ends with one amorphage in the pendulum scale while I use the level one pendulum monster that goes back to the deck. While I wish we could get more support but obviously it's never gonna happen so im just finding cards that could help the arctype. All I want is a amorthus persona searcher, and no planet pathfinder is not one of it
It would've been way better if they were "soft" floodgates, only restricting you to 2 cards you can add from the deck to your hand or 2 monster that can be summoned from the extra deck each turn. This would've made them way more interactable, easier to work around, gives them the chance to receive support and build up a medium board without negates to have a good back and forth with way easier upkeep and a few new guidelines to play by
I think the only other playable card was sloth as a tech in for going first in other pendulum decks. To attempt to stop your opponent from ever going off. But it wasn't a popular choice, but I did see it.
So Goliath has the exact same issue as Kirin, a great pendulum boss monster that was purposely neutered by having its own archetype be unable to reliably summon it, even down to it actually being better splashed in other decks. So, along with early Ice Barriers, I'm curious if there are any other archetypes that get shafted this way
Man, imagine making a card that just changes Amorphages' pendulum scales to 1 and 9 respectively. While also making you able to tribute a card your opponent controls for the cost. And making the pendulum cards indestructible.
IMO amorphages aren't that bad...in the context of MR3 when you can pendulum summon as much as you want from the ED. The problem is, and is frankly the case with 90% of the pendulum archetypes released pre MR4, that they rely on the sole mechanic of tribute/destroy your own cards and bring them back. For what they were at the time, they were balanced. Yes you have bonkers floodgates but in order rto maintain them you have steep costs. But when you take away the ability to pendulum summon as much as you want, the the deck kind of just dies. And it's not the only deck that was like this. Ignights, Magispectors, performapal pendulum, Metalfoes, Qli, zefra, and amorphages all kind of died immediately upon rule change, and if they became playable at all depended on future support working around the new limitations. Basically, without new stuff to make them payable, the only coherant pendulum deck was THE pendulum deck, the pendulum magician good stuff deck. Every other deck that actually cared about pendulum summoning (as opposed to just having pendulum monsters like lunalights and D/D/D) got killed by the fact you couldn't freely pendulum summon from the extra deck, because they were so poorly future proofed for the next immediate rule change that the only thing that most pendulum decks did at the time was now something they could not do easily. It took specifically made link monster training wheels to have individual pend decks again
"whose levels are equal to or exceed 8" ⭐≥ 8 This is probably what I hate most about Yu-Gi-Oh. They use a mountain of text for simple concepts and write everything out instead of just making ability names like in magic. A single yugioh deck has more text than a college textbook.
The scales in this deck really is it's biggest issue. I tried playing this deck a few times back in the day but not being able to pendulum summon more than half the deck makes it super hard to build any sort of board.
I am not a ygo player, I just love collecting the cards. I remember when I opened shining victories packs and saw these cards I felt so bad when they had a cool thing going for them with a bad execution
I loved this archetype. It was never a meta threat, but I think when it was new, it was very much playable. What really killed this deck was the link format. Now it is literally unplayable because you can never summon enough to maintain the scales.
Can you do pure Subterror next? It would actually be very interesting hearing how Subterror evolved from a terrible deck to meta by adjusting how it was played.
I've been working on a water dragon cluster deck for like the past week, specifically for the fireking and snakeyes. Ive tried labrynth with rollback and bonding-dho to summon water dragon cluster. Ive tried pure water dragon with trade-in and sacred sword of seven stars with a small dino pack. Kairyu-shin & water dragons, but i think the most consistent so far has been water dragon/icejade. Mermails are good too. The bonding/chemical archetype needs support so badly. 😅 I'd appreciate any help if anyone more well-versed in ice jade than i am could help me out. I know theres better anti-pyro/fire decks, but water dragon and water dragon clusters effects are really good... water dragon/bonding needs support asap to combat fireking snake eyes
I use an odd-eyes engine with odd-eyes revolution dragon as a dragon pendulum searcher along with sky iris and skullcrobat joker to search revolution, and around 4-6 of the spirit pendulum monsters for pendulum summoning since they have a scale of 9, allowing for pendulum summons of Goliath and sloth. Ahriman also fits well since you can use infections effect to search another amorphage as well as drawing. So my ideal combo is to either sky iris into revolution by sacrificing one of either Goliath or sloth to search, or use skullcrobat to do so. If you already have a revolution or one of the spirit pendulums, use revolution to add the missing piece/pieces for your combo, scale gluttony and a spirit pendulum(if available) pendulum summon, return the spirit pendulum, then scale lechery in it's place. This combo locks down extra deck summons, monster effects, and spell cards, literally 90-95% of your opponents deck considering they're not using labrynth or traptrix and ends with lots of scoops on master duel lol.
@@joshuashaffer3820 Labrynth, too, needs monster effects to assemble the engine. Swapping Lechery for Greed on turn three (or going for that immediately when you go second and see your opponent passing on set cards) should be feasible.

I remember when these were announced. Around my locals people acted like they were the strongest stuff ever and would conquer the meta. And then they were absolutely useless filth.
If they wanted this deck to work they should have made all the pendulum scales 1 and 9 or make all the monsters level 4. Then make a consistent way to get them back from the extra deck back into your hand so you could cycle the floodgates pendulum effects. The maintenance cost isn't really the issues as they allow you a free and easy way to change out for a different floodgates of you wanted to. But it's for the best it failed, every floodgate easily accessible and constantly able to change. And not giving them a link monster to make them work once links hit the game means even Konami doesn't think they are worth saving
Honestly, the archetype probably could have been playable if only their Pendulum scales had been better. Definitely feels like a case of a deck where the game designers overbalanced it, although that was probably for the best in terms of the long term health of the game given it's also an archetype full of floodgates. As an aside, back when I was playing Endymion in Master Duel, I occasionally used Amorphage Sloth as an end board piece/tech card.
So sad this archetype didn't end up being good. The theme is a really cool idea being a nice spiritual successor to Evilswarm and the artworks are really cool.

Honestly whether it would be fun or not it also is weird they never got a Link monster because they're based on the 9 Deadly Sins but stopped at 8.
No wonder I didn't find pendulums interesting
the most likely ran out of mechanics to block also the sins were combined turning the 9 sins into 7 sins. according to the wiki, goliath is vanity (fitting lol) that was combined with envy and depending on which sin youre talking about are ether combined with another sin, used a different word/name, or was just outright dropped.
@@Zetact_
... Nine?
Even i liked the grotesque aesthetics of it, i'm really glad this one failed and will never be fixed because we already have enough floodgates in modern YGO and it's for the better.....
Yeah, funny how many people in the comments section want this Archetype to be good. Playing against floodgate turbo is fun, innit? S
Even with the bad maintenance costs, if the pendulum scales weren't so bad maybe they would have been decent. You can play copies of Pendulum Switch to help bypass the maintenance cost though.
When you can't even enable the summon your own boss monster, you're a bad archetype.
@@azuredragoon2054 That's why Majespecter Unicorn was used way more outside of Majespecter decks.
Damn dallas even catching strays in a yugioh vids it seems to be the only thing they can catch
Never noticed how kickass their artwork is. Each dragon has a virus clamped to its back.
Not a simple virus, it's a bacteriophage or simply a phage!
kind of the virus is making regular monsters into dragons like the artwork in the spell amorphage infection greed is and lechery were the scorpion and hedgehog only small parts of what they used to be is left
@@azurephantom100 Yep, the artworks are showing the creatures MID TRANSFORMATION.
Eugh.....
Make one about Ojamas please?
Dallas cowboys reference in a YGO video was unexpectedly hilarious.
to be fair, spheres tribute for goliath was one of the most annoying things to deal with when you were playing against dragon link back then.
Oh my god. TH-cam's bot problem is only getting worse.
This is the first time I caught one of your videos when you just posted. Just wanted to save I love your channel man, gives me nostalgia and also I’m just a nerd and I love all the logic behind these cards even though I don’t play I watch your mtg one too and sometimes your wow channel they’re all good man keep it up
Ways I would make the archetype better.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the relation to their names and the 7 deadly sins.
Guess it was a low hanging fruit
@@jeremybrown9611 it's the kind of thing he likes to usually mention. Lore and stuff.
That's for the unknown side series to discuss
That cowboys stray..and I’m an Eagles fan like woah a football reference in a yugioh channel 😂😂😂
When I heard the cowboys joke the only thing I could do was sigh and say to myself “yea…yea”
“Dallas Cowboys of Yugioh” is a fantastic analogy 😆
"They're like the Dallas Cowboys of the Yu-Gi-Oh world!"
Mmmm nah, at least the Cowboys have SOME success in their history. This is more like the Cleveland Browns
Nahh he's right, the Browns are just... Bad. No one expects them to be good (Sans this year of course!)
I was not expecting Cowboys slander in my yugioh video but i'm all for it.
I really wanted this deck to be sooo good. I love the concept of the deadly sins. I hope it gets more support or some sort of change to the archetype to make it viable
“Being hyped… that you’re good, then realizing you’re a failure.”
Damn, DuelLogs getting personal out here. Hit me right in the feels.
0:07 When are we getting videos for Ignknights, Magical Musketeer or Subterror?
we migt not get the ighknights for 2 reasons
they were a force to be reconed with at mr3
infernoble uses 2 of their scale they have searchers for lv4 fires
usually i don't accept 2 card as a save from failed but when they are the worst cards in the archetype "the freaking vanilas that seach a fire warrior at a -1"
@@some2043 I mean, either DuelLogs' criteria is REALLY harsh (to the point i can see him putting the Hands as part of Failed archetype, and say "they were only good thanks to Traptrix and Artifacts".... heck I can see DuelLogs put artifacts in the failed mechanic too).
Or at this point it feels like this category is just "excuse to talk about any deck that wasn't Minimum tier 1 at their prime"
So we could get Igknight sooner or later
Idea for a new “Amorphage Infector” monster that’s based off of the little virus looking things that turn other monsters into Amorphage ones:
_Amorphage Infector_ (EARTH)
Level 1
Pendulum Scales: 0⬅️➡️0
_Once per turn, you can declare the name of 1 “Amorphage” Pendulum monster from your hand or that you control: Until the draw phase of your next turn, this card gains that declared monster’s Pendulum Effects and Scales. If a monster(s) in your hand or you control is Tributed, or destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon this card from your Pendulum Zones._
Machine/Pendulum/Effect
_If an “Amorphage” card you control is tributed or destroyed by battle or card effect: You can special summon this card from your hand or face-up from your extra deck. Can make additional attacks per battle phase, and gains 250 ATK/DEF, equal to the number of face-up “Amorphage” cards you control. If this card is destroyed by an opponent’s monster (by battle or card effect); You can equip this card to that monster, and if you do, you take control of it while this card is equipped to it._
ATK/250 DEF/250
Nothing like special summon Goliath with the hieratic sphere link after bouncing your opponent normal summon. 🤙🏻
The design of the monsters are so unique but...the man.
One way the archetype can be fixed is by leaning into that, with a new Amorphage monster of each main monster type, symbolizing a monster of that type being infected and mutated after being defeated…
We could have names like:
Amorphage Pyre (Pyro)
Amorphage Torrent (Aqua)
Amorphage Heresy (Divine-Beast)
And so on and so fourth…
they would need to be able to fix the scale issues as well as allowing for copying the effect for the desired lock downs as to fix the scale needs to remove one of the lock down effects. as well as some protection or hell some work arounds for more flexibility
That random cowboys stray made my day.
Goddamn, the Cowboys are even getting roasted on a Yugioh channel.🤣
Starry Knights could probably qualify for one of these. They're a neat idea, but it'd be great if the archetype didn't revolve entirely around special summoning their boss monster from the hand and not anywhere else.
Bro had to make this video after getting floodgated by this archetype 💀
I was not ready for that sponsored segment 🤣
I can't get away from Jerry's shenaningans even when I step entirely out of the realm of football. I really had to listen to that bit again😂
The only support I can think of it could be a couple of Link Monster (Amorphage Link 1, Link 2 and maybe link 3 all pointing Down). A new Field Speel that searches on activation with a similar effect like Dragonic Diagram. Even with that, it still hard to play it soe yea, good luck hoping that
Next archtype Nephthys, even if it has been my pet deck for yearS i still think 1 on nephthys would be cool
Amorphactor pain goes hard in Drytron though
Honestly I'm fine with this archetype staying bad. We've already got enough oppressive floodgate effects running around as is
Maybe the best thing for the deck would just be a couple of consistency. Like a spell that said look at your opponent hand or top 5 cards of their deck. Then add of amorphage monster from deck to hand maybe a hard once per turn depending on power level. Then a link 1 or 2 that could revive itself. And summon tokens during the draw or standby phase.
Igknights are giga chads favorite deck though 🗿
Yeah, we all thought a Flood Gate archetype would be amazing, but for all the reason you mentioned, it flopped super hard. If it wasn't for the maintenance cost, I think the deck would be decent.
Maybe you can do Graydle. It's another archetype the community got excited about because it was the "Snatch Steal" archetype. But it ended up sucking too.
Amorphactor Pain actually does see play in a gimmicky Drytron deck paired with Terminal World to skip your opponent's turn
What hurt this deck? Besides lack of support
1) Their scales. Half of their monsters are outside of their scales so you cant pendulum summon them back. In order to get the ones outside your scales in play, typically required you to tribute them. Which you wont keep for long since you gotta pay that maintenance cost next turn. So their only useful for 1 turn usually
2) MR4. Going from 7 to 5 now, of which 2 is dedicated to your pendulum zone, 2 to your continuous spell/traps so now you have 1 alone to work with
3) Its extremely xenophobic. Lysis replacing your pendulum scales, does not stop them from making you pay its cost, because, guess what, its still the standby phase 9/10 times you get to use the effect
4) Recovery...now after MR3 there are little ways to recover your cards outside of cards not searchable within your own archetype...so no consistency. On top of that Lysis, which was suppose to help mitigate your maintenance costs tends to miss timing. Once your monsters are stuck in the ED, they tend to just stay there as you can no longer spam pendulums, nor utilize link monsters zones
5) Interaction...they lack it. Sure they gain advantage with Infection and their field spell, sure, but remember, you essentially have 1 spell/trap zone to work with, so have fun. But really, they have no in-archetype way to get rid of your opponent's cards outside of battle. Truly a floodgate deck and nothing else
Sloth also saw competitive play in Billy Brake's 1st place 2016 YCS Bochum Metalfoe side deck.
the best cards to put in your scales are the ones stopping monster and spells. your opponent will only be able to use traps and a normal summon their first turn and have to pray you cant pay the cost. getting two or three level 4 and/or another to normal summon and you got both guard and a mystic mine/imperial order combo set.
Stand proud Amorphage you are strong.
This is the first time I ever heard of amorphage
Amorphage archetype only had one set of support. Which is just another way to say Konomi didn't take the time to improve the deck.

That’s so cool that minnieful is part of his videos now 🙏
It's a damn shame, I love this arctype and I still use it to this day I even mix them with generaiders, the only difference is the deck usually ends with one amorphage in the pendulum scale while I use the level one pendulum monster that goes back to the deck. While I wish we could get more support but obviously it's never gonna happen so im just finding cards that could help the arctype. All I want is a amorthus persona searcher, and no planet pathfinder is not one of it
And True King of All Calamities happened... but I reckon that's a video for another day...
So, along with early Ice Barriers, I'm curious if there are any other archetypes that get shafted this way
I love the Amorphage. I've been messing with them over the past few month.
Good take.
OHHHHHHHHHH as a Philadelphia eagles fan i appreciate that comparison
"whose levels are equal to or exceed 8"
⭐≥ 8
This is probably what I hate most about Yu-Gi-Oh. They use a mountain of text for simple concepts and write everything out instead of just making ability names like in magic. A single yugioh deck has more text than a college textbook.
Cant believe there was a sports reference in my YGO video--that isn't about UA's.
I’m surprised you’re not talking about Earthbound immortal yet.
Hieratic love to be tributed and they're Dragon too but the ED lock makes them hesitant to get along with Amorphage.
Amorphages are the Dallas Cowboys of Yugioh.
Ooof.
The scales in this deck really is it's biggest issue. I tried playing this deck a few times back in the day but not being able to pendulum summon more than half the deck makes it super hard to build any sort of board.
The Dallas cowboys stray literally made me physically react
pendulum soup: allow me to introduce myself
I am not a ygo player, I just love collecting the cards. I remember when I opened shining victories packs and saw these cards I felt so bad when they had a cool thing going for them with a bad execution
They really made a Pendulum deck that's bad at everything that made the Pendulum mechanic strong to begin with
I loved this archetype.
Duel log really called them the Dallas cowboys 😆😆😆
When I played Amorphage I would play Void Expansion to have a regular flow of tokens for tribute
I know theres better anti-pyro/fire decks, but water dragon and water dragon clusters effects are really good... water dragon/bonding needs support asap to combat fireking snake eyes
at least goliath was good in blue-eyes :p
Amorphus
I love the amorphage archetype. I actually use an amorphage deck in master duel lol
I want to give this a try. Does the deck have space for hand traps? Since they’re pretty fragile, any kind of protection would be nice
@@xCorvus7x yes, it does, but you should expect to play them only if you go second or if you play 3 of lechery and one gluttony in case of monster heavy decks

With the changes to the pendulum mechanic, Amorphages were murdered.
terrible scale's and the link monster's killed this deck.

Oh, I get it. You are supposed to use other cards, despite their lockdown, like how they are draconic mutations of nondragons. Pity competitive prefers pure... for some reason.
I remember when these were announced. Around my locals people acted like they were the strongest stuff ever and would conquer the meta.
And then they were absolutely useless filth.
Just what I needed. Love Sloth
And not giving them a link monster to make them work once links hit the game means even Konami doesn't think they are worth saving
i always wanted to play this deck but as you explained it didnt mesh while with its own damn cards. i would love a re-train of the entire archtype.
Sloth/Goliath is pretty strong in Ninjas with Super Transformation lol
Honestly, the archetype probably could have been playable if only their Pendulum scales had been better.
Definitely feels like a case of a deck where the game designers overbalanced it, although that was probably for the best in terms of the long term health of the game given it's also an archetype full of floodgates.
As an aside, back when I was playing Endymion in Master Duel, I occasionally used Amorphage Sloth as an end board piece/tech card.
No way @duellogs made a top tier NFL reference 😂
So sad this archetype didn't end up being good. The theme is a really cool idea being a nice spiritual successor to Evilswarm and the artworks are really cool.
