    Apologies for the watermark on the video - my editing program upgraded recently and now places a watermark unless I upgrade to the pro version. Didn't notice until I came to save the video and to be frank couldn't be bothered to rerecord it using something else.

    One more time thanks a lot
    you made me enter in new world
    I never should discover by myself even if I m quiete sure I shall never find any of these records.
    But it's not too long I spent a very instructive and pleasant hour discovering with you all of these bands.
    I wish you all the best for this new year.

      Thank you again for watching Gerard. The great thing about the VC is being able to show music to fellow fans that they don't know about, and in return discover new music myself. All the very best for 2024 to you too.

    Hi there Pete and Merry Christmas. I first got into Tasavallan Presidentti after seeing someone show the Tolonen album in the VC about twelve years ago. I was looking into his bands and I came across TP. The Trad-Gras-Stenar box set sounds like a good one. Moose Loose and Action Fredag I will check out this evening. Thank you Pete. Once again. You never disappoint~

      I hope you had a good Christmas too Rob, and I wish you the very best for the New Year. I'm glad you found something to check out in my video. TP are excellent - especially live. The three TGoS sets are worth investigating if you like that (at time rough) experimental psych jamming. I hope you enjoy the others you check out. Cheers... Pete

    Excellent video as usual Pete! I will look into some of this music you presented. It is impressive how much good music like this (or music that I like) comes out of the Nordic countries. Cheers!

    That Jordsjø sounded great. I really should get that. And that Father Robin records. Wow. I got that Makajo Dama album on CD some time ago. It is fantastic. New Agusa. Nice. It sounds really good. I have some catching up to do. Cheers Pete. I hope Christmas has been nice for you.

      Hi John, great to see you here again. The Jordsjø and Father Robin would be just up your street, as would be the new Agusa. We're always fighting that battle to keep up with all the great new music being released, but I don't think we'd have it any other way. Christmas was quiet but good thank you (but I'm always glad when it's over 😁). All the very best for 2024...Pete

    It's been too long. I was beginning to worry!
    Probably the biggest selection of bands I don't know, but now want that you've ever posted. I think I only know 3 of them!

      Hi Dave, sorry it has taken me quite a while to put this one out - getting lazy in my old age I guess. I'm glad you found quite a bit to interest you. Did you manage to catch the names / titles? I was going to put subtitles on the needle drops, but the upgraded version of my video editing software now has that as a pro version function which you have to pay for - going to have to look for some new software (free of course). I hope you both had a great Christmas, and I wish you both all the very best for 2024... Pete

      @@soundsfromthewestcoast9939 That was an issue, I can't deny. Especially with the ones with no readable text on the sleeves. I think I missed the first Norwegian album, which I particularly liked the sound of.

    Hi Pete - great video , Ring Van Mobius have just come on my radar and I will check out the Lars Frederik solo album as sounds right up my street . I 've just discovered Bootcut which is a Beardfish side project by Rikard Sjoblom mainly Hammond/Drums duo which is fantastic.

      Hi Graham, though it is good check out RVM's first two albums first to hear them at their best. The Lars Frederik is superb, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Hadn't heard of Bootcut - thanks for the heads up, I do love me some Hammond organ! All the best... Pete

    Very entertaining and informative run-through of the voluminous number of your Nordic and Scandinavian purchases!
    I do like Jordsjo for their folkiness but only have one album by them on CD.
    The Lars Fredrik and Action Fredag were the strongest needle drops for me. Those box sets look amazing. I’ve heard Parsons Sound but knew nothing of their later incarnations.
    I wondered did you have to get all these records shipped from their countries of origin?

    • @soundsfromthewestcoast9939
      @soundsfromthewestcoast9939  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks John, glad you found something you liked among these releases. Scandinavia and Finland are hotbed of great prog and psych both in the past and currently. Luckily I didn't have to get the 3 box sets from Sweden. Instead I got them from my friend Dave Cambridge who runs the Cardinal Fuzz label. He brought over a small number of each to sell via the CF site - saving us all a whole lot of P&P. All the very best ... Pete.

    Hi Pete, going backwards a bit your vids. Fantastic episode, couple of totally new to me, somehow have missed that Father Robin too. Jorssjo sounds amazing, heard of them year ago from Richard surprisingly:) Moose Loose I have heard but never streamed, sounded nice jamming on it. I remember the same story about Hills Goat connection, Hills, what a band that was. Homegrown, interesting idea for kind of minirelease, is there a forest upside down on the cover? so it must be proper nordic forest psych, lol. Cheers.

      Apologies Petri, I must have somehow missed the notification that you had commented on the video. I'm glad you enjoyed it. So the Hills Goat connection could very well be true if you've heard the same. Absolutely loved Hills - I really need to reacquaint myself with their albums, not given them a listen in quite a while. All the best...Pete

    Hi Pete, This was certainly a very interesting video. I have not heard the Danish band and only some of the Swedish ones. I only found Makajo Dama on CD. Nice to see it on vinyl. I was not aware of another Tasavallan Presidentti release in the works and appreciatethe heads up on that. The last two releases were very interesting. They had one love release earlier that I found was a bit on the muddy audio quality side. Agusa did it again. Perhaps not my top one of theirs, but it is all great. I agree with you on Ring van Möbius' album. Very enjoyable, but the previous two are a tad stronger. They also had a limited release EP this year. The Moose Loose live album is one of the strongest live albums I have. I also thought it was surprisingly good audio quality on it. I believe it is a heavily remastered mono recording. I have some work to do with Träd, Gräs och Stenar. If you need more Nordic yet: John Lönnmyr (as mentioned earlier), Bushman's Revenge, Saint Karloff, Erland Dahlen, Kanaan.
    A Merry Christmas to you, and Happy New Year!

    • @soundsfromthewestcoast9939
      @soundsfromthewestcoast9939  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Richard, I hope your Christmas proved to be a good one. There's been tons of great music put out by Causa Sui and it's offshoots and friends - you should definitely check out El Paraiso. The Makajo Dama was a nice discovery this year. I'm looking forward to new TP archival release - there can't be much else left though I would think. It'd be nice if Svart could do the same with Wigwam. I'm probably with you on the fact that the Agusa is maybe not their best, but their releases are all so good that it's still better than most other bands output. Need to check out the Moose Loose studio work sometime. TGoS is very different from the others I showed, how much you can enjoy it depends on whether you like that jamming improvisational psych from the late 60s. Will check out the others you mentioned - I do have one Bushman's Revenge album which I enjoyed but I need to check out more. Kanaan - I have heard the name but not their music. The rest I haven't heard of at all. There's always so much! Wishing you all the very best for 2024... Pete

      @@soundsfromthewestcoast9939 I think you would enjoy Kanaan Pete. Some is jazz rock/ prog jazz. Their very latest (The Astral Plane) is wonderful instrumental 70s style Krautrock. They note influences by Ash Ra Tempel and CAN. All the very best for 2024, Richard
