I am careful about the hype, but BOTW always felt like a trial run to me. It's an amazing game, not going to deny that. But it had big flaws and felt empty at times. The open-world aspect was amazing, the quests/temples were absolutely horrid. And whilst that may sound harsh, I say it because I can see that the world, systems and engine they created for BOTW could do so much more. I would love a mid-game "twist" where the world changes, just like OOT or ALTTP. And you get to explore the same world in a whole new light. In a way this game combined with BOTW might just be that.
That soundtrack was too much to handle for me, I cried. I took 2 weeks off from work to play this, my body is ready, my mind is ready. I'M READY. Can it just be May 12th already please?
I’ve been obviously excited for the game since its announcement because, well, it’s Zelda. But that’s kind of been the extent of my excitement just “new Zelda game coming out.” Watching this trailer actually set in the real anticipation I now have.
I'm right there with you, Falcon. I choked up the longer the trailer went on. THe Zelda theme in the opening of the trailer filled me with so much happiness. The story looks so much stronger this time, too. Seeing the champions there with Link, ready fight - YES. And are those dungeons?!?! And Bosses?!?! I was lukewarm to a sequel, like 'More Zelda, sweet.' but this trailer is more like 'NEW ZELDA!! LET'S GOOOO!' The fact that this might be demise (maybe why they put out Skyward HD instead of giving us TW/WW) is so damn cool. I am officially on the hype train.
This is basically how I was. I _was_ excited for the game like I am for GTA6. I legitimately wanted it, and I knew I will spend a lot of time with it. But this trailer made it into something way bigger. Genuinely haven't been this excited after a game trailer since I can remember.
@@gameranxTV here’s an idea! If you all arent tooooo busy to do so, each of you at gameranx do your own before you buy :) a special occasion for a special game.
Falcon, it feels like you don't watch that gameplay demonstration because this trailer is good but it wouldn't be as interesting as it is without that gameplay demonstration. This trailer great for story and more cool stuffs but gameplay demonstration actually make us more hyped than this trailer alone. your weapon durability problem is literally answered by fuse ability which increase your new fused weapons durability from the weak one it was. That rewind ability is recall and it is shown multiple times where link rewind a felled rock from sky island and also a spiked ball to attack enemy in it's path.
The only system I don't currently have is an Xbox...which I hope to get to play Starfield.....I'm so looking forward to this next installment of Zelda! Problems and all 😂....it's the entire reason I got a Switch in the first place (for Breath of the Wild).....so, I'm hyped....Zelda has always been awesome and has been around since the NES.....it's great to see it constantly expanding
i love your theory Falcon. i say "your" theory because i haven't heard it before and i absolutely love it. it makes sense there's an ouroboros sign in game if Tears of the Kingdom story is the actual war from Skyward Sword, a war that started it all, that "created" Demise and sent Hyrulians into the sky to build Skyloft. the only thing that could make the game better would be having actual Epona in game and not just as an Amiibo. the horse Link rides looks like her but in Breath of the Wild they were just homages to the real thing. hopefully in Tears of the Kingdom it really is her because in every shot in this trailer the horse has Epona's colours and it couldn't have been an accident they made Link ride this particular Epona-looking horse. fingers crossed.
I’m so hyped for this but it breaks my heart. My girlfriend who grew up on the original Legend of Zelda passed away 6 months ago. And I hate that she’s not hear to enjoy it with me.
There's one problem with this game, it's only on Nintendo so it means I will never get to play it because I would never purchase a console just to play one game.... Shame I would love to give it a go!
I played Breath of the Wild for the first time a few years after it was released, and I lived it for a couple of months straight. Got the map hanging on the wall next to me still so I could find all the shrines and korok seeds (~700 was all I could take) and have read the official guide like a book (who does that?). I'm more than excited for this release and haven't been more excited about a release since The Witcher 3 Next Gen. First playthough is no internet help. I have a feeling my second playthrough will take a really, really long time. Can't wait for more coverage from you guys once it's here. You guys rock as always!
Totally agree. Before, I thought ToTK would just be a nice rehash of BoTW. But this new trailer makes feel like it could actually be a contender for game of the year, amongst a year of incredible games. And I really havent felt hyped like this for another trailer. I did get a lil hyped for Starfield, but not like this.
In the Sega Master System game, Miracle Warriors: Seal of the Dark Lord, weapons and armor could be damaged, and you could pay smiths in villages to fix them. Eventually, you could find a smith who would travel with you, keeping your equipment in top condition.
I think the mushroom structures in town are open / closed depending on night / day (whatever they do). During the day the red one is open and the night one is closed as it appears in the trailer 7:52
I never bought a Switch and hence never played the first BotW. Is this an expansion DLC sold as a standalone like Spider-Man: Miles Morales or a true sequel?
I really really hope we get more shrines don’t get me wrong a normal dungeon would be amazing but I just hope it isn’t at the cost of shrines cause I loved the shrines
At 3:46 this ability shown in the gameplay trailer already, just not in this way. This is the same rewind-time ability shown at 3:10 where link is rewinding a boulder being thrown to go back to it’s thrower.
this trailer feels like its fixed EVERYTHING from botw and im not even joking. AND THEN FLAUNTING IT OFF😭 botw is amazing, but it always felt a bit incomplete?? like the whole game was us learning the past 100 years, from story to lackluster shrines, even combat where u couldnt customize or upgrade weapons. Intentional or not, totk MAKES IT feel intentional. Like it shows us WHY we always felt that sense of “theres somethjng more… this cant be it”. It shows us how little this world’s understanding of this cycle is. how all of these ENORMOUS threats were hiding in PLAIN SIGHT, just beyond our reach. if we purely relied on other people’s *WISDOM* and prophecies/ideologies to guide us like in botw, we would’ve been completely overpowered/dumbstruck about this new evil. Only with link and zelda’s *COURAGE* to jump straight to danger and find out the truth abt the world themselves, with no sheikah able to help them, makes it feel so epic. It feels like YOURE involved, rather than living in what feels like a “past world”. If it took us 100+ hours to learn ONLY what happened within the oast 100 years and barely ANYTHING from farther, this game is going to be INSANE
I will wait for the emulation on pc. I can't play another nintendo game between 15 and 30 frames. This will be the first ever mainline of the game I am skipping. Maybe one day nintendo will give us a console worthy of playing games on again. And if there are no dungeons I might just be done with the franchise. Breath of the wild was the biggest let down in the world for me. I'm glad people enjoyed it, but it wasn't my jam.
Agreed. The switch successor needs to be a framerate powerhouse. Granted most Nintendo IP on Switch does run at 60fps, I don't see any reason this IP shouldn't be capable of doing so. But I can live with it. I will be picking up TOTK cause it already looks to be a better game than the tech demo known as BOTW.
I didn't see the trailer til I clicked this, heard your excitement and paused it to go watch. Came back equally excited. Every time I was like "wow this looks great, another thing would happen and my jaw got a little lower and lower and lower. This game looks absolutely fire.
What it needs is difficulty settings for veteran players that found the first one to be extremely easy to the point where we had to handicap ourselves to feel it any sort of challenge
I might be the only person who thinks breath of the wild was boring and not interesting. This looks somewhat more interesting but not close enough to make me buy a switch again
@@francescocangialosi5199 get help for thinking your opinion is fact, TOTK looks mid so far IMO, nothing mind-blowing here. Calling this trailer the greatest video game trailer ever made, like Falcon did, is an immense exaggeration.
Have you ever thought about the 4th untold timeline ? Link in oot stays as a adult and keeps the ocarina of time and uses his part of the triforce and sealed ganondorf himself. When it shows zelda falling and the light starts to glow that's her part of the triforce activating . When you see ganondorf face reveal you can see his part of the triforce activating also . In the previous trailer you can see link look at his arm when its glowing that's his part of the triforce activating. and then shows the broken master sword . When you see the next scene where zelda is standing there and the hero of time is walking torwards her you can see the same gauntlet that is also used to links destroyed arm. The male talking in the ending stating that " link is our last line of defense " that is him . The hero who stayed and tried to end the cycle of demises curse. I've been sticking with this theory since I've seen the first reveal back in 2019 .
I really hope I can get into this one. I never could get too far in Breath of the Wild because of some of the gameplay loop. Specifically going against the centaur guy, couldn’t get passed that guy and never finished it
How does it look good in any way? It looks like exactly like BOTW. But in 2023 back when botw was released it was fantastic but you can’t rerelease the same game and expect it to stand up to true modern games. The trailer was shit.
True tbh, trailer was ok, nothing incredible. BOTW is a good game, but you'd expect sequels to be set in significantly different locations, and this looks like more of a DLC than anything. TOTK's open world is pretty much the exact same as BOTW and people are like, wow, this is incredible!!! But anything Nintendo does is a perfect masterpiece in the eyes of biased fans and media, so they get a pass lol.
@JimmyTheGamer Question have you seen the map? Yeah the art style and graphics are going to be the same obviously but how do you know the locations aren't going to be different
@@jimmythegamer2231 Yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking. BOTW was great when it was released 5 year’s ago but TOTK looks like the same game. More of a DLC like you said. I just don’t see how people are so excited for this compared to more modern far better games.
@@alexandertaylor2761 Because in the trailer you see the same locations. And in interviews the devs said that the map is expanded by the “sky islands”. Which sounds like copout bullshit.
Never fully played a legend of Zelda game may try this out
That soundtrack was too much to handle for me, I cried. I took 2 weeks off from work to play this, my body is ready, my mind is ready. I'M READY. Can it just be May 12th already please?
2 weeks? Holy crap, I'd get fired if I ask 2 weeks off 😂

I’ve been obviously excited for the game since its announcement because, well, it’s Zelda. But that’s kind of been the extent of my excitement just “new Zelda game coming out.” Watching this trailer actually set in the real anticipation I now have.
👍🏼
nah. its nice but open world sandbox games get boring so Quick...
Falcon being the only one on TH-cam to understand the logo is the story loop just goes to show why I never miss an upload
Also the mushrooms I think are the minish, we should see every Zelda game in one, including the moon
So exited about this game
👍🏼
They showed the rewind time ability before, it's not new, just never on a rock thrown by an enemy :)
Can't wait for this game!!
👆🏻
the hype is real, great trailer
Yep
Epic af video Falcon thanks for the great content🔥
🤝
Hey, I like all the lore speculation. Except the ones connecting Link to Doom Guy.
Thank for covering this my man. This trailer showed some crazy stuff.
What are you most looking forward to?
The before you buy
@@gameranxTV lmao best response ever. Love ya falcon
@@gameranxTV here’s an idea! If you all arent tooooo busy to do so, each of you at gameranx do your own before you buy :) a special occasion for a special game.
Ok that was too good😆 Thanks Falcon!
This was a gold reply
Falcon, it feels like you don't watch that gameplay demonstration because this trailer is good but it wouldn't be as interesting as it is without that gameplay demonstration.
This trailer great for story and more cool stuffs but gameplay demonstration actually make us more hyped than this trailer alone. your weapon durability problem is literally answered by fuse ability which increase your new fused weapons durability from the weak one it was.
That rewind ability is recall and it is shown multiple times where link rewind a felled rock from sky island and also a spiked ball to attack enemy in it's path.
I’m still convinced it’s BOTW DLC esp since it’s releasing on such a dated console. I might try it once the new console comes out.
Nintendo has no plans of releasing a New Console anytime soon.
before this trailer i was like "BoTW2 ehh" but now i feel like this is a new zelda game, hyped!
👍🏼
i love your theory Falcon. i say "your" theory because i haven't heard it before and i absolutely love it. it makes sense there's an ouroboros sign in game if Tears of the Kingdom story is the actual war from Skyward Sword, a war that started it all, that "created" Demise and sent Hyrulians into the sky to build Skyloft.
the only thing that could make the game better would be having actual Epona in game and not just as an Amiibo. the horse Link rides looks like her but in Breath of the Wild they were just homages to the real thing. hopefully in Tears of the Kingdom it really is her because in every shot in this trailer the horse has Epona's colours and it couldn't have been an accident they made Link ride this particular Epona-looking horse. fingers crossed.
Ok, how is this game not going to set my Switch on fire? The world looks amazing! How did they do it?
🤷♂️
Nintendo’s main studios are great at taking advantage of underpowered hardware
This game will put other developers to shame
I’m so hyped for this but it breaks my heart. My girlfriend who grew up on the original Legend of Zelda passed away 6 months ago. And I hate that she’s not hear to enjoy it with me.
There's one problem with this game, it's only on Nintendo so it means I will never get to play it because I would never purchase a console just to play one game....
Shame I would love to give it a go!
There's plenty of other games on The Switch.
It kinda looks like Link will be acting as commander to the people of Hyrule.
This game gives me shadow of colossus and banjo kazooie nuts and bolts vibes
👍🏼
I cracked up when the Bowsers high-fived at "YOU'RE WELCOME!" 😄
😆👍🏼
Hopefully the game doesn't have every weapon be breakable again so i can actually enjoy this one

Just like you said, I haven't been this hyped for a game in years! This is the first totk trailer that actually got me going "WHZHHAAATZ?!?!?!??!"
It's a shame it's trapped on the Switch hardware
In the Sega Master System game, Miracle Warriors: Seal of the Dark Lord, weapons and armor could be damaged, and you could pay smiths in villages to fix them. Eventually, you could find a smith who would travel with you, keeping your equipment in top condition.
I'm not supporting a $70 massive DLC of BOTW. I'll just watch the cut scenes on youtube.
I think the mushroom structures in town are open / closed depending on night / day (whatever they do). During the day the red one is open and the night one is closed as it appears in the trailer 7:52
Nice
Very nice
All I want is better side quests stories... That thing was really missing from the first game
I never bought a Switch and hence never played the first BotW. Is this an expansion DLC sold as a standalone like Spider-Man: Miles Morales or a true sequel?
Lmao you really think this is a dlc? Bruh
@@Jbswe Last time I played a direct sequel to a Zelda game was Majora's Mask, which was a mere asset flip of OoT...so yeah.
I really really hope we get more shrines don’t get me wrong a normal dungeon would be amazing but I just hope it isn’t at the cost of shrines cause I loved the shrines
wow
At 3:46 this ability shown in the gameplay trailer already, just not in this way. This is the same rewind-time ability shown at 3:10 where link is rewinding a boulder being thrown to go back to it’s thrower.
Imagine if this game in PS5 with graphics of HFW 😩
this trailer feels like its fixed EVERYTHING from botw and im not even joking. AND THEN FLAUNTING IT OFF😭
botw is amazing, but it always felt a bit incomplete?? like the whole game was us learning the past 100 years, from story to lackluster shrines, even combat where u couldnt
customize or upgrade weapons.
So, you're telling me you'd risk Jail and a possible multimillion Dollar fine just so you can play this game at 60fps?
@@FinalGreymon 😂🤣😂🤣 If you're really asking that question, yes.
I didn't see the trailer til I clicked this, heard your excitement and paused it to go watch. Came back equally excited. Every time I was like "wow this looks great, another thing would happen and my jaw got a little lower and lower and lower. This game looks absolutely fire.
Geeze, it's just a trailer for a game. No need to get all crazy about it.
haha same!!
Where we dropping bois?
12:04 Right here on gameranx… right here? Sounds like some extra audio was included haha. Loved the video! Super hyped for the game 😊

But it was so good
You must like Ubisoft games then.

Not even close, halo odst much better

Would have been way better (looking at least) if they had waitied for the new swich... sooooo old
Nintendo has no plans of releasing a new console anytime soon.
I really hope I can get into this one. I never could get too far in Breath of the Wild because of some of the gameplay loop. Specifically going against the centaur guy, couldn’t get passed that guy and never finished it
no it doesnt. it looks like a mobile game
Even coming from someone who only plays half (story-wise) breath of the wild, the hype is REAL!
And who cares if the map is completely different I just think that in 5 years development time the game should at least look slightly different. It’s not exactly genre redefining as everyone seems to think.
@moo cow The game does look slightly different new mechanics, update expanded map, different game play, looks like dungeons are back possibly. It's a continuation of the story plus a whole new world above the so called same map. Some people just can't be pleased cus this couldn't be a dlc no matter how you look at it.
might be my favorite falcon vid ever lol. so excited for this game.
