I'm sorry, but i am one of those people who were born in the Zone prior to the catastrophe and i'd like to point some things out, please don't get mad at me, you made a great video for new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. players who are joining the community lately thanks to OperatorDrewski. Thanks to you it's easy for them to follow the complicated timeline of events and what kind of environment they are diving in. But still there are few little mistakes, so here goes: 1) Chernobyl is not a town, but a small village of about 500 inhabitants at its peak. Pripyat is far from being a "village" instead. It housed exactly 100x times more people than Chernobyl - 50 000 and it is a city by all standards. 2) Exclusion Zone is "only" 30 km in diameter(not radius, diameter). 400 km was the theoretical solution that never came to fruition due to how complicated, expensive and impractical that scale of TOTAL evacuation would be. TOTAL evacuation is when even entire factories and farms are being evacuated, not just people. 3) Nuclear(/ˈnjuːklɪə/), not "nukular". I'm sorry, that's just how it is. 4) 4:26 You got the date right! Usually people get very confused when USSR actually fell apart, but you got it right. Thank you! But honestly these are just neat-pickings, i simply want people to understand the scale of the Zone and don't mix up Chernobyl with actual epicenter of disaster. Simply GREAT video. I bought Stalker shadow of Chernobyl and fell in love with the game, always wanted to try it out. Then I seen a streamer named Klean playing Stalker Anomaly and was blown away by how good it looked and couldn't believe it was free. Stalker Anomaly is so good I feel bad for playing it for free so I am going to buy all the Stalker games to give the devs some revenue.... I cant wait for Stalker 2 but it has a lot to live up to because of Anomaly and some other good mods of Stalker. I have been playing the shit out of Stalker Anomaly and I am addicted lol.. cant stop playing and i have like 50 hours already but havent even seen half of the locations 🤣
@@MisterPogman I think the point is OP bought SoC way back in the day, then more recently started playing Anomaly. As Anomaly is freely available and designed by another dev team, a little guilt comes through because there is no support going to GSC, so OP is going to buy the other games in support of GSC. I don't know why I'm replying a month later but I hope this is accurate and helps clear it up for you!

That was an excellent break down. I have played the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games more than any other franchise and found it cool having some of the storyline blanks filled in.
This is very well done. Most of the STALKER summaries I see are badly made, but you actually know your stuff. The section on Duty is a bit too favorable to them IMO but other than that this is good.

the cnpp is the center of the zone though we are only ever on the south side of it, generator map excluded. so there is a whole zone to the west east and what lies to the area to the north of the cnpp? this game has great areas to expand into
Was in the exclusion zone illegally last year, it feels nothing like stalker... Untill you get into the abandoned Pripyat, when you are in this town, the atmosphere is really similar to stalker, when you are playing it first time, at night.

I just played all stalker games. Soc was good, clear sky was not good but not so bad I would say it was frustrating. But CoP was so good that I complete it 3 times
Why Cop is best? Its so eazy, story is realy meh and its waaay to much player friendly ( anomalies only in small zones, not scary envirovment). I think first stalker is best. Its not so much open world but the atmosphere and story is another level. First time i visited Agroprom i almost shiet my pants. When you visit Jupiter in CoP there are only dogs. Thats all. Road to Pripyat could be waaay better, not just few snorks. Same as ending. Cop is just meh

If you don’t wanna buy the older ones check out Stalker Anomoly. It’s a stand alone mod that doesn’t require any of the other stalkers. It has all the maps and a few cut ones, a bunch of game modes. It’s very free form, almost rouge like. It’ll allow you to explore the world of stalker, and included all the context and added content. All of it is lore friendly too don’t worry. Sadly, with the conflict in Ukraine I don’t think we’re getting stalker 2 anytime soon.

In 1986, some liquidators, working in the chernobyl exclusion zone, started to call themselves "Stalkers" due to the similar environment of an exclusion zone full of unknown dangers. It's funny that it gave birth to some kind of paradox, where the real events depicted in the game have had some indirect self reference to the original material the game is derived from. if that isn't a comment about cultural meta, I don't see what is lol !

love the lore but pretty sure your time line is WAY off. if this was all happening in the early 2000's, why is literally all the equipment in the game including vehicles, armor and weapons in the zone, 1980's models? i always got the impression the events in the games were all within 5 years of the initial meltdown, and never saw any evidence in the games to suggest otherwise.

Ukraine had nukes until the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, where they gave up on them in exchange being guaranteed territorial cohesion and soveregnity.. Msot likely that never happened in the STALKER universe. Well, i'm sure, they would like to change it now.

love the lore but pretty sure your time line is WAY off. if this was all happening in the early 2000's, why is literally all the equipment in the game including vehicles, armor and weapons in the zone, 1980's models? i always got the impression the events in the games were all within 5 years of the initial meltdown, and never saw any evidence in the games to suggest otherwise.
The "Second Incident" or the creation of the zone happened in 2006 according to the Shadow of Chernobyl manual.
