An other smart trick would be to have a very valuable skill that everyone will want. If you're a doctor, a mechanic, a cook, etc... Pretty much everyone will want to keep you alive.
Agreed. Everybody knows how to fight, aim, shoot, run, etc... But who knows how to disinfect and clean a wound, or remove a bullet safely, and later stitch that wound up? Who would know the proper fauna to gather in the zone for traditional medicine, or what to scavenge in abandoned houses for actual medicine? Doctors. Who knows how to repair a jacked car battery? A busted fuel pump? Malfunctioning engine pistons? A busted breaker box? Mechanics. Having these qualities will almost guarantee you protection in a camp or faction due to your valuable skill.
@@Psitau Cooks too. Imagine being the only guy capable of making edible stuff out of the worst food you can find in the zone. Never underestimate the power of not wanting to eat the same questionable trash everyday.

The worst part of humanoid mutants is that they are fully conscious of their actions, a hunter does not hate it's prey and vise versa because it's only a beast, an animal, the humanoid mutants though they're a different story.
Yeah it would be interesting to find out how smart the bloodsucker actually is. They seem to be communal in the way they live and they plan attacks. Wouldn't be surprised if they know what they're doing to you
Most humanoid mutants aren't as smart as they seem, but the burrer, on the other hand, is a very interesting case since they were basically humans (bandits ?) that got experimented on. Burrer are still 100% human inside, and could be attack out of vengefullness
I like to think many of these mutants are some ways way smarter or more aware of certain things to the point they see us as beneath them. Would make sense given the nature of the experiments that go o.
I'd probably be extra cautious especially when dealing with anomalies out in the open. Unfortunately this would probably mean catching a bullet, being torned to shreds by mutants or being scorched by an emission. Regardless, great video! 🙂
Yeah, I think the emissions would get most people even if they were prepared in other ways. Sometimes its just the luck of the draw and you have to make a mad dash to get to an old shed, only to find out it won't protect you.
Alot of people ignore the fact that the anomalies when entering new areas will be a enormous hazzle to handle. Its like having invisible mines/IED's that one cant really disable. And Emissions on top of that is like having nukes going of at random occurences.
myb bring your most trusted friend along and have him know one of the skills you mentionned because then you have help when surviving like you can look one way and he looks the other way and if one of you two get captured there's more chances to be kept alive and myb rescued
Each of us would be killed for one reason only. We are not mentally prepared. Fear and panic will kill you. When I was with the border police or the security service, fear was the reason (among other reasons) when a person failed. One evening I checked my colleague via walkie-talkie, he didn't answer me. I was afraid something had happened to him, I took my things and went looking for him. I'll cut it short - he was in a long corridor of a dilapidated building at the time, his flashlight stopped working, some animal made strange noises, he fell to his knees in fear and didn't know what to do - fear, desperation, panic - he was one of the few rational and normal-minded colleagues I met (top 3).
@@SonOfTheDawn515 Even if you have training in combat, weapons or survival in Chernobyl nature, nothing can prepare us for the psychological stress that would await us in the Zone and then who would go there without training. PTSD has soldiers fighting in conflicts with humans. Can you imagine the horror that the zone will prepare for you? I'm saying that fear would kill us there, not lack of training.
As people viewing it from the outside in we would probably have a somewhat better chance of surviving, albeit still bad odds. In universe there are all sorts of tall tales (some of them being true!) and misinfo surrounding the zone, so you wouldn't have good access to reliable info, one of the reasons experienced stalkers and those with comprehensive info on the zone such as Strelok are so highly valued.
That's very true. You'd have no way of knowing what's actually true. The things you'd hear about would be so insane sounding that it would be difficult to take them seriously and prepare accordingly.
To add on this, it's those tall tales, rumors and grossly over exaggerated stories that draw would be stalkers to the zone , and everyone that comes to the zone has their own personal reasons for taking that risk, be it for fame, greed or another delusional idea, hell, some probably even went based on a rumor that an artifact could help cure a loved one's terminal illness. That's the beauty of it all , even if it's not outright stated in the stalker lore, every stalker has their reasons for being there.
Even the monolith faction is probably just some campfire story to most stalkers. Scary cultists guarding the center of the zone.. Uh sure sounds real. Most will never get deep into the zone to even believe that they are very real and very deadly.
So, being a nerd who loves stalker and someone who actually does some gun/prepper/survival stuff...the Zone is extremely fatal for people on their own. You need groups for basic protection, medicine, gear, help with food/water/shelter. You have to have good relations with people who can get you things you need like ecologists. You can't homebrew your night vision or batteries. Doctors or good medical treatment are *vital* when it comes to gunshot wounds. This is something games don't do well. Real life GSWs will kill you from infection, not just bleeding out. Holes you weren't born with aren't something you want. Humping around all day every day in large heavy armor will also gas you out, no matter how fit you are. It will also eventually start to break down your spinal column and neck. Ask GWOT vets about that. That many stalkers with that many guns and that many threats would have an enormous body count in a matter of weeks. If you're not already battle hardened, with a group and know how to keep yourselves going as a squad, you're a survival outlier.
also it depends what time u are in the zone, if ur in clear sky time, well you die due warfare because faction wars, in shadow of chernobyl, prob mutants anomalies or even hunger
You would have to be a trained soldier, big game hunter, and CBRN expert with a degree in theoretical physics or just plain lucky to survive the Zone. I'm one of the 4, take a guess. With a 3 man group I'd say an average person could survive a few days
You forget all the rookies that clearly aren't any of this, have crappy equipment yet can be found all over, alive and well. The game makes things far more eharsh, plus you travel the worst places which realistically you'd stay away from. A realistic zone would be a far more forgiving place.
@@IntoTheZone I wouldn't. While I wouldn't trust people (I don't know so I'm sure would be heightened in that situation) I wouldn't murder someone just for a short duration of supplies. Be better to ally up (as shaky as that is with strangers in the zone).
I'm a Ex Forestry technician, I would probably survive for a few months with the knowledge I have if the conditions were perfect but in all honesty I will probably die to either a Anomaly , Bandit or a "friendly" (Some people are corrupted and you will never know until it's too late). in like 2 weeks tops.
Someone really thought the zone was comparable to 40k? I guess the noosphere is kinda like the warp in how it affects humanity, but a big difference is that the Noosphere isn’t filled with lovecraftian entities and currently eating the entire galaxy. The two just aren’t really comparable in scale or danger level at all.
@@gamerraider889 that is pretty bad, and I guess the zone is somewhat comparable to an area heavily affected by the warp too, so a planet with a stalker zone would probably fit in the setting mostly. Though the sheer scale of conflict and danger is what I was mostly thinking of, if the zone was in 40k it could consume dozens of planets and thousand of light years of space and no one may even notice for like a century or two, entire planets are eaten by the warp all the time in warhammer, and it isn’t even the craziest thing happening in that universe. Place is crazy
However they are, there are many zones around the earth and they are always growing swallowing up more land and changing it to its will. The zone is a living thing.
you forgot probably the most fascinating mutants of them all: the Poultergeist and the Pyrogeist. its invisible, save for the anomalous field it projects. they appear as small floating fields of electricity and bombard you with any object not tied down. their true bodies are legless, since they float around. The pyrogeist is a variant that appears like a field of orange heat haze and spawns pillars of fire like the burner anomalies.
“He had never experienced anything like this before outside the Zone. And it had happened in the Zone only two or three times. It was as though he were in a different world. A million odors cascaded in on him at once-sharp, sweet, metallic, gentle, dangerous ones, as crude as cobblestones, as delicate and complex as watch mechanisms, as huge as a house and as tiny as a dust particle. The air became hard, it developed edges, surfaces, and corners, like space was filled with huge, stiff balloons, slippery pyramids, gigantic prickly crystals, and he had to push his way through it all, making his way in a dream through a junk store stuffed with ancient ugly furniture … It lasted a second. He opened his eyes, and everything was gone. It hadn't been a different world-it was this world turning a new, unknown side to him. This side was revealed to him for a second and then disappeared, before he had time to figure it out.” ― Arkady Strugatsky, Roadside Picnic
I had the misfortune of running into a chimaera during my first time at the red forest. Of all places it had to spawn, it had to be near the first bus. At first, I thought it was a lurker but when my Amsel Striker didn't kill it, I knew something was wrong. So I switched to my AS Val and started unloading 9x39mm bullets at it and switched to my shotgun when I run dry. I died at least 6 times in the same place that time. 10/10 would rather fight a Pseudogiant.
Yeah, Cimeras are no joke man. Their speed is super deadly. I’ve usually had good fortune while fending off a Cimera attack. Only one I remember besting me pounced on me out of nowhere the second I stepped out of Yanov Station !! Had no idea they could even spawn there.
When searching for the Cimera that killed Fox, the hunter’s friend. The bastard flanked around to my far left and leaped from the foliage. Nearly jumped out of my skin, quickly pulled out my RPG firing a rocket right into its face….that took care of it
"many rookies come here in search of artifacts, stepped in the wrong spot and is just gone... No screaming, no realization. He stepped into an anomaly and just died." Anomalies are the most dangerous things to ever in the zone... Just imagine running away from gunfire and step into a pool of invisible knives. Also the zombies are more accurate than you might think
I just watched this on an addon mod for anomaly, when you started talking about the blood suckers being the worst of the worst I was delighted, it reminded my why I'm the best damn stalker there is in the zone for the simple fact all mutants have a weakness, not all know them but I do. The blood suckers are terrifying to be sure BUT did you know (without mods) the blood sucker can only attack once then retreats to get enough distance to become invisible, well if you chase them they can't become invisible and can't reset their attack, making them effectively helpless if you run them down. As one of the most seasoned stalkers to ever grace the zone I'll tell you rookies a secret, the best weapon to kill the bloodsucker... A knife. PS. you left out the poltergeist.
I’ve also found this to be an effective strategy. Very satisfying to chase that sucker down and drive your hunting knife right into its back !! The hunted becomes the hunter. Just beware of the second one that’s usually waiting for it’s turn at you
Bandit: jokes on you I like men! Shortage of Tail in these parts boy and the the mutants are butt-ugly. Bandit 2: Vlad hold on an sec...you serious? Vlad:yes... Bandit 2:fuck imma just kill you man...it's the more humane option
Weakness is a great thing, and strength is nothing. When a man is just born, he is weak and flexible. When he dies, he is hard and insensitive. When a tree is growing, it's tender and pliant. But when it's dry and hard, it dies. Hardness and strength are death's companions. Pliancy and weakness are expressions of the freshness of being. Because what has hardened will never win.
4:40 - Actually, the best weapon for dealing with a lot of mutants isn't to use an assault rifle. The best weapon is actually a good, reliable pump-action or semi-auto shotgun because you're less likely to waste ammunition. Bullets are hard enough to come by as it is. Whatever weapon you choose, make sure it's of a design that has a reputation for durability. The Zone is harsh on everything, so weapons with maximum reliability mean one less thing to worry about. Also, Chimeras have a weak spot - their spines. Aim directly down into it and you can potentially kill it in one or two shots.
Reasons why you wouldn't survive the Zone. 1. Deadly anomalies 2. Dangerous mutants 3. Anarchists 4. Bandits But seriously STALKER isn't as bad as actual post apocalyptic settings like Fallout or Metro for the chief reason that you can always just chose to not go to the zone. The rest of the world is fine. On the other hand in Fallout and Metro you can't just opt out of the wasteland.
While thats true and the zone is localized to a small area, the big problem is the conversation that Strelok has with the C-Con in SoC. The C-Con has been manipulating the unconscious minds of thousands to basically force them to come to the zone. If you're one of those unlucky people, you're probably going to have an overwhelming desire to go.
A Battle Rifle like a FAL or DMR like the SVD would be better in my opinion, since mutants are so armored and tough. Very important thing, sewing is a very important skill to learn. Both sewing clothes as well as sewing up your ravaged body after an attack, stitching up your wounds would speed up the healing process. You described that its important to have medical supplies like bandages, TQs, etc. but you also gotta fight infection... a wound disinfectant is crucial. You could die from a small little scratch... not ideal in a world like this.
Other mutants of the zone Fractures: similar to zombies but hideously mutated with much long arms, running in a manner similar to a galloping horse. Degenerated zombies: Zombified stalkers who have "survived" and been exposed to the elements for so long that their clothing and flesh is now decaying away. The only thing left is a animalistic urge to kill stalkers they come across. Resilient despite their appearance, occasionally even shrugging off headshots. PsySuckers: a rare form of bloodsucker with psionic abilities similar to a psydog, making hallucinatory clones of itself as it maneuvers behind it's prey Lurkers: think smaller, less durable chimera...that hunt in packs. And do note, there are varying levels of strength among mutants, meaning you will never know just how durable they are until they are right on top of you...and there are mutants that have never been seen by still living eyes within the Zone. Tread carefully Stalker, else the Zone will take her fill of you...
More terrifying is that anomalies themselves are not static, changing locations, size, and density with each emission. What was a safe passage or rest stop may be a deathtrap the next time you try to pass by. Whole areas of the exclusion zone may become completely impassable for weeks at a time, blocking any stalker from entering and more importantly, escaping.
Dude. I'm heavily into training with firearms, "'militant" outdoors activities like rucking and camping in kit, prepping and intense range training. I get into these topics not because i play video games but because i like apocalypse gear larps. I LOVE that you turned this into a prepping and training video. I found your page today and will definitely come back.
My personal take? Don't go to the Zone alone. Deciding to sleep in the wrong place, getting too disoriented to fight, and shit like that can kill you way more easily if you're alone. Not to mention that then you can focus on one thing more clearly. Granted, I assume that younger stalkers nowadays in the universe could speak some English, but it pays of to speak, read and write in Russian and Ukrainian
16:21 whatever NBC suit in good/new condition from a European or US source, toilet paper, water purification, sleep system, poncho, camping pillow, poncho liner, extra socks and boxers, rifle with combat load, canteens and/or camelbak, extra durable clothing and NBC repair kit, body armor, cbrn mask with spare filters, helmet, rad detector and whatever prophylactic medical counter measure pills are available for treating ARS.
ALSO with Mods, you have more scary anomalies Rebounder anomalies will shoot you across the area, the faster you run into them, the harder they reound. I've run into one and jumped and had my body launched across the map and spaghettfy on impact with something.
Realistically there wouldn't be that many gunfights in the zone outside of the army shooting intruders, most people would kick the bucket for anomalies or mutants, which make the zone plenty dangerous enought. That alone would make organized bandit activity pretty rare imo
You forget that ARTIFACTS are the number one thing that runs the entire economy of the zone and technically illegal to acquire but numerous organizations still pay the high blackmarket price. Essentially, the zone is almost exactly similar to the heroin smuggling in Afghanistan during the 90's and guess how bloody that was? There is a obvious reason why the zone keeps getting new stalkers or bandits despite the obvious hellscape that it is, artifacts would and probably are the most valuable thing to ever get. Despite most stalkers getting little money to even get out of the damn place, lol.
Forget mutants or radiation, how about that invisible fuzz anomaly you brush up against, then die of a heart attack days later... Not fully implemented, but still canon.
I feel like I'm gonna survive everything the zone throws at me from humans to mutants to anomalies but I'm gonna die to a rat at night when I'm in cordon
I would give myself anywhere between half and hour to a maximum of 2 days; and that with crazy amounts of luck. Anything more than that is... I am unsure of if thats a blessing or a curse.
Without emissions, depending on my supplies, I give myself a week. The difference is training and experience with combat. I've never hunted quadruped animals and doubt we could eat them anyway so food and clean water procurement are certainly issues. Don't forget TP, soap, toothpaste and other necessities. So, week tops for me if trying to be a complete loaner.
@@SonOfTheDawn515 I would say that people like the ones who fought/fight against ISIS in city urban warfare almost always man-to-man is the most well-prepared for the shitshow that is the Zone. ISIS members lurking like the mutants to pounce on you for close quarter or shooting at you like bandits, bombs that acts like anomalies etc etc. That or people have something in the like of trench warfare experience; like sneaking through Taliban cave-complexes. Youre just exposed to danger all the time, no base to take shelter in. Everything is just a nightmare of a Recon operation.
Lol, no no, in ACTUALLY realistic terms, you'd just be stuck for weeks being useless in rookie camp, and either go back or risk venturing forward to get equipment and other stuff. No, seriously, think of all the rookies around everywhere in vanilla stalker, realistically, the zone is far more forgiving.
Sitting here listening to all these reasons intently fully knowing I'd walk into an anomaly just as I do in game multiple times a session already despite having end game gear
Great content as always bro, and a first for in depth zone survival. Also I like your language learning guide, It would definitely pay to learn Cyrillic before entering the zone and to make sure you know the right swear words for whatever situation you may find yourself in. I also have more music on the way for you , be sate out there Stalker.
If you're wondering why people want to compare this game and it's horrors to WH40K; it's because "in the grim darkness of the 41st millennium, there is only dick measuring contests about how much more abysmal my universe is than yours"
I think that to syrvive in the Zone you need to be extreamly cautious about your enviorement, as you said, Zone defy normal logic and laws of physics, so you could spot anything out of ordinary, basically best weapon imo is 12 ga shotgun because: ammo is cheap, it has many variants: slug for big game, sabots, darts, incendiary rounds etc. As a sidearm I would recomend something bigger than 9mm because most mutants above dogs and tuskano are preatty thick skin so 9mm would be for boars like mosquito bite, so better to start with .44 magnum rounds .50 action express, .45 ACP. Be aware of your surroundings, listen carefoully, look around you, be slow and methodical, its not a race but struggle to survive. Remember imortant details the way that you've passed, placement of anomalies dangerous spots, because you don't want to fall into electro while running from bloodsucker, you can actually lure the bloodsucker into anomaly and use it as a trap. When using a firearm, be aware that you will focus attention of everything around you with your noisy shots, so don't stay in one spot or near it after a gunfight. And finally measure your capabillities to needs, if you see sings that mutants might be around ( things like dead carcasses, poop, markings on enviroment) or other stalkers (found camps, trash, gun casings pointing that gunfight had place) ask yourself if your goal is worth it or you want to find abother way around. Thats all from me. Good hunting stalkers.
Yeah we would definitely die but I do enjoy your realistic breakdown at the end good survival tips and that got me to thinking if we brought the Zone into our reality bullets would do a lot more than they do in stalker so with a full Squad probably actually a platoon sized element it may be doable.
I just start playing the first one stalker thanks to your channel I mean.. I was wondering when to get in to that and when I watch few videos of your I just had to try it. My first one is Shadow of Chernobyl with mod "Vanila with a twist" (most annoying is bug that when I heal somoene they might not get up...). And holy shit this game have really depth. And I just started but in this game I kinda feel like in home (From Poland btw). Alright so I guess I want to say, thanks for helping me decide to start with that.
Mutants wise it depends on which mod you're playing. A.R.E.A.'s mutants I find especially brutal. They made it so breaking line of sight with a Controller doesn't protect you from his powers, instead it's based on range and that range is large. Good luck bringing that down early game without scoped weapons.
An interesting thing also its the fact that both in the book and in the game (keeping in mind different locations and ages and events) something common would be the fact that if you survive enough and you learn how to deal with anomalies and mutants its basically also because the zone its affecting you and mutating you, maybe not that much to look like the master from fallout or like a dark one from metro or like a blood sucker. But it will change you and if for some reason you end after making a small bounty selling artifacts and helping scientists to Reach places in the zone you May find some Day a partner that could make you happy, and sooner or later if you have children with that partner there is when mutations began to be notable. So maybe you survive the zone and get rich and have a perfect wife, you can make a company that could maintain you making research on artifacts to make weapons or other systems. The thing is you can get out of the zone, but the zone will never get out of you, and your descendants will remember you and the rest of the world that.
So, in order to survive The Zone, you basically have to be a God teir Special Ops survivalist or the main character, even then it basically comes down to fucking luck.
OOO I see you are man of good choices so you dont have AKs but VZ 58. Good choice in normal condition, bad choice in Zone- we dont use AKs mags in it and it is almost imposible to convert other mag to fit. I would use most generic weapon - ar style or ak. Great vid, great comments. Really enjoyed it.
The main problem would be training and tactics. Almost all military training is done with small unit tactics on the mind (squad size) in these scenarios. In a solo or duo situation where anyone could be the enemy speed and silence would be key. Take more 2 man sniper tactics which aren't widespread. Stealth, speed, and violence of action when it's time would all be the key but unfortunately almost every engagement would be bad due to being outnumbered and outgunned almost always so you would rarely if ever engage...boring.
Another guide for survival Shooting. There are 2 ways of surviving a shootout Concealment Concealment and prefered in light cover such as tires, trees, etc Concealment will be harder when camoflauged in thin cover example,You are wearing Night Parka camoflauge behind a tree Itll lessen up ur chance of getting shot due to the visibility If ur seen changing spots u might as well go guns blazing Cover. Covver are the most know thing to do in a shootout. If u are engaged in combat its best to Scan out and find cover and DO not always stick on doors If u see a wall. Check it forst see if its Damaged,Weak,Decaying, if it is u need to change positions since that will be Concealing. Good cover are Concrete, Thick layer of metal,Vehicles, An actual wall...,etc cover can also be used as concealment by a bit.
@@IntoTheZone I mean in some ways, like the warp was clouded and corrupted, so is the world/universe by the zone's expansion and corruption of the noosphere
One is hell on Earth. The other is hell on... everywhere? S.T.A.L.K.E.R is like Catachan with more stable structures and a slightly higher chance of living.
ngl i would stick around rookie vilgiade and get some local jobs and i would get a hunting rifle before i went to da zone yk just t obe safe and i would start to save up for a sunrise meybe and then i start da hunt in cordon for bantis mutans and artifacts aswell i aint going to da zone without atleast 4 people aswell dont go deeper in da zone and underground
Privjiet. Love your Stalker series and hope for many more videos. Well done, thank you for all the hours of entertainment. I would like to suggest to add a sturdy knife, a few packs of stormproof matches and two quality pairs of boots to the equipment. Being wet and cold rapidly sucks energy and morale out of the most motivated adventurer.
whoever asked if it was worse than 40K. just no. Not saying it isn't dangerous but there's a reason 40K is known as one of the most brutal universes in games, books, etc. Death would be the best option you could hope for in that universe.
0:05 Some mods have the Vz.58 and it's always one of the best rifles you can have in the Zone. 3:54 Oink Oink Fleshy Piggy! XD 9:07 Fires a shot, wracks the slide using some sloppy rookie "technique," tops off the mag tube with a shell, then pumps the gun again even though there's a round in the chamber. Come on, modders! You can do better than this! 9:41 And of course, since your character uses a sloppy rookie "technique" cocking the gun, they also use a sloppy rookie reload technique. Only sloppy rookies flip a "trombone gun" upside-down to load it. Also, it's recommended practice to reload with the support hand so you can keep your shooting hand at the ready. Exceptions can be made with guns that are noticeably front-heavy. Also, yer 'sposed ta load the chamber first when using any fixed-tube gun for combat or D-FENS. Killing Floor 2 depicts that. 10:02 "It's 40-Miller Time!" 17:26 Dominion Arms P762. It's based on the SIG/Sauer P226, is chambered for 7.62x25 Tokarev, and uses 18-round mags. Of all the pistols in the unmodded games, I'd probably go with a Walther P99.
I'd probably just get horribly radiated. Assuming I can find a way to get past the military, I'd likely stick around the entry area and smuggle in spices and more quality food, near everyone complains about food quality and being miserable due to not eating enough or well. I know a lot of people would appreciate things like tea and candy, too, I'd get really rich and help stalkers actually tooled for the Zone to survive better by being on top of their game. Actually in the zone, I'd probably just get in a ton of trouble, if I wasn't with the ecologists or enough loners I'd be easy prey.
By the mutants, l didn't hear about the psydog. Which also like the Controller, has psy ability. It makes you hallucinate, and creates lots and lots "clones" from itself which attack you, also dealing damage, while the host is in the back, waiting for you to die.
If i was so stupid to go to the Zone, i probably be the Loner that never leaves Rookie Village, or the Military working at the Cordon doing nothing all day or letting STALKERS pay me to let them pass
@@Waaaltz_i mean, if the hints of corruption from the army are similar to that of early 2010's ukraine puppet regime, and it stays in power. . . Then I can confidently say that any of the factions (espically DUTY) in the zone would easily be able to strike a deal with either the military itself or a Russian/Belarusian asset that smuggles ammo themselves.
I mean it would be the primary hotspot of organized crime, exiled terrorists, bounty hunters, veterans, and absolutely lost locals/ex ussr people who just want to go there and try to make money off of illegal artifacts or die trying. So, It would at least have a population of 500-1k with all things considered.
i think id do well in therms of physical training since ive been doing cardio and strenght training for yeqrs but even with the best gear i would be dead in a few hours since my perception is usually shit, so id be ripped to shreds by anomaly
You WOULD survive, first of all, canonically it's not nearly as bad as the games, ESPECIALLY not the spinoff games like call of Chernobyl, not with the people trying to kill you, nor how strong the mutants are, the stronger ones also being far more rare. The radiation is also usually not a product of the zone but the leftovers of the Chernobyl accident, there's not a lot of it around either, I mean, people currently safely travel Chernobyl. Anomalies aren't as common either. Secondly, you usually come there for money, and you CAN leave when you feel like it, even if you are just a rookie. The fact that new people come, and go, also means many individuals who left spreading information about the extremely risky but potentially extremely profitable job of being a stalker, and hey, they survived so you have your shots. Finally, from the game's dialogues and flavor text, the artifacts can be far more powerful in protecting you, they aren't always in anomalies either, the game's just made it so for more fun and logical gameplay mechanics. So yeah while being pretty risky and not having great odds, you'd still have a good chance to survive, plus think logically, if you didn't, why would all of those people come there? Just to have a 99% chance to die horrifically? Clearly not. What you probably would NOT survive however is being a stalker in roadside picnic, that universe is FAAAR more brutal and unforgiving.
You are completely wrong as artifacts can be just as damaging as they are helpful. People who claim they have been to the zone are probably lying or were extremely lucky. Pretty sure the military will kill anyone coming and going from the zone if they found out about it. And people going to dangerous locations for money or treasure is not a new thing, and those that do go probably just underestimate exactly how dangerous the zone is. And radiation anomalies definitely exist on top of the radiation from chernobyl, which yes is safe in some areas but not safe enough to be in for extended periods of time.
@@KaptifLaDistillerie Yeah, bringing a start up capital is a must. Walking about with a rusty shovel and an old soviet pea-shooter is not great for one's survival chances ;)

Wouldn't be surprised if they know what they're doing to you
@@IntoTheZone Yeah, Makes You think...

If it helps, the gravity anomalies may even protect you from bullets but at that point you’re just stuck
If I met a controller I would simply blow my brains out or go back to camp for the day, that's bad luck in all my gamma runs.
myb bring your most trusted friend along and have him know one of the skills you mentionned because then you have help when surviving like you can look one way and he looks the other way and if one of you two get captured there's more chances to be kept alive and myb rescued
I would get killed in a matter of seconds. Would end up running into an anomaly most likely.
The Zone gives and the Zone takes.
Yeah, I'd be the guy who falls in a Fruit Punch.
@@zlostnypopolnik Lack of training and experience will do that.
Such Is Life in The Zone
I hope Strelok is the main character of Stalker 2
Rumor has it that if you reach the center of the zone you get an ice cream cone. Dmitri said he’s going for it but I’ve lost radio contact

Someone really thought the zone was comparable to 40k? I guess the noosphere is kinda like the warp in how it affects humanity, but a big difference is that the Noosphere isn’t filled with lovecraftian entities and currently eating the entire galaxy. The two just aren’t really comparable in scale or danger level at all.
and humanity isn't engaged in a perpetual and never-ending fight for survival
To be fair, every large emission grows the zone by 5 kilometers. It *is* eating the world.
“He had never experienced anything like this before outside the Zone. And it had happened in the

on him at once-sharp, sweet, metallic, gentle, dangerous ones, as crude as cobblestones, as delicate
and complex as watch mechanisms, as huge as a house and as tiny as a dust particle. The air became
hard, it developed edges, surfaces, and corners, like space was filled with huge, stiff balloons, slippery
pyramids, gigantic prickly crystals, and he had to push his way through it all, making his way in a dream
through a junk store stuffed with ancient ugly furniture … It lasted a second. He opened his eyes, and
everything was gone. It hadn't been a different world-it was this world turning a new, unknown side to
him. This side was revealed to him for a second and then disappeared, before he had time to figure it out.”

Truly the way to go
I just watched this on an addon mod for anomaly, when you started talking about the blood suckers being the worst of the worst I was delighted, it reminded my why I'm the best damn stalker there is in the zone for the simple fact all mutants have a weakness, not all know them but I do.

My record for surviving anomaly is 20 minutes, I don't like my odds.
Nice reference to stalker movie
Remember though, none of this will stop Duty on its Triumphant march to saving the planet!
1. Deadly anomalies
2. Dangerous mutants
3. Anarchists
4. Bandits
But seriously STALKER isn't as bad as actual post apocalyptic settings like Fallout or Metro for the chief reason that you can always just chose to not go to the zone.
This is why we need DUTY!
I can
@@IntoTheZoneNo I would just go back to bed
A Battle Rifle like a FAL or DMR like the SVD would be better in my opinion, since mutants are so armored and tough.
Very important thing, sewing is a very important skill to learn. Both sewing clothes as well as sewing up your ravaged body after an attack, stitching up your wounds would speed up the healing process. You described that its important to have medical supplies like bandages, TQs, etc. but you also gotta fight infection... a wound disinfectant is crucial. You could die from a small little scratch... not ideal in a world like this.
Other mutants of the zone
Fractures: similar to zombies but hideously mutated with much long arms, running in a manner similar to a galloping horse.
PsySuckers: a rare form of bloodsucker with psionic abilities similar to a psydog, making hallucinatory clones of itself as it maneuvers behind it's prey
Lurkers: think smaller, less durable chimera...that hunt in packs.

My personal take? Don't go to the Zone alone. Deciding to sleep in the wrong place, getting too disoriented to fight, and shit like that can kill you way more easily if you're alone. Not to mention that then you can focus on one thing more clearly. Rebounder anomalies will shoot you across the area, the faster you run into them, the harder they reound.

That sounds brutal. Never played modded Stalker. Usually have good luck weakening controllers with grenades in Vanilla
@@marshalltheman7811 it also worked in thus one.
Keep in mind, this might very well be a false guide to trick you into bringing new supplies to the zone, they did say you won't survive after all.
17:09 love your patch haha
You forgot the fire anomaly
I would use most generic weapon - ar style or ak. i saw this video and was like "oh i KNOW already, but tell me why!"
What about poltergeists? The telekinetic mutunts that throw objects at you no matter how heavy, or one that will spawn beams of fire unto you
The main problem would be training and tactics.

Concealment and prefered in light cover such as tires, trees, etc Concealment will be harder when camoflauged in thin cover example,You are wearing Night Parka camoflauge behind a tree Itll lessen up ur chance of getting shot due to the visibility
If ur seen changing spots u might as well go guns blazing
Cover.

10:02 "It's 40-Miller Time!"
17:26 Dominion Arms P762. It's based on the SIG/Sauer P226, is chambered for 7.62x25 Tokarev, and uses 18-round mags. Of all the pistols in the unmodded games, I'd probably go with a Walther P99.
Why would you ever use a pistol? It's just a kilo of wasted space and weight.
Get a Saiga/Vepr-12 and just grab an extra mag instead if the pistol.
Great stuff. Variation to the audio track could be an improvement. Not that I have a problem with the music, but it is way too distracting.
Im built different so id live forever
Same
Great video, watched it to the end, keep doing what you doing bro
I as a matter of fact would not survive cause i need so many saves to just pass 1 day in stalker anomaly
Id bring "PLOT ARMOR" with me when going inside the ZONE.
By the mutants, l didn't hear about the psydog.
Which also like the Controller, has psy ability.
It makes you hallucinate, and creates lots and lots "clones" from itself which attack you, also dealing damage, while the host is in the back, waiting for you to die.
Really getting hyped for STALKER 2 now...
theres a reason a crap ton of people just sit at the rookie village and do nothing
The people who compare other fictional universes to warhammer all the time are usually on the same vibe as "CaN tHeY BEat GoKU thOUgH?"
Very obnoxious people, they aren't wanted by others.
"you guys wouldnt survive the zone"
Has anime clan patch
If i was so stupid to go to the Zone, i probably be the Loner that never leaves Rookie Village, or the Military working at the Cordon doing nothing all day or letting STALKERS pay me to let them pass
Honestly, if the zone would exist irl the stalker population would be way lower, and mutants are way higher think 20:1 ratio.
Yeah, specially the Ammunition would be very expensive, that shooting at the mutants will be the last thing that you will do.
Something dies in you when you go into the zone, no one comes back alive
Please don't mistake my /k/ube patch for a monolith one. Not saying I don't deserve murder or anything, I just want it to be for the right reasons.
I'll be okay, I'll just be selling weed to freedomers
i think id do well in therms of physical training since ive been doing cardio and strenght training for yeqrs but even with the best gear i would be dead in a few hours since my perception is usually shit, so id be ripped to shreds by anomaly
Don't forget mutants, doesn't matter how many you can lift.
3:04 Hey! I’m maybe brainwashed but I steel have feelings!
Great video, heck if you can survive the zone you should be able to survive most places in the world.
I remember a quote that said a stalker's lifespan was generally 2-3 days, it might've been a joke, though.
@@gamerraider889 I don't..
No, you would not survive in the zone.
@@gamerraider889 that was Metro 2033
You are completely wrong as artifacts can be just as damaging as they are helpful. People who claim they have been to the zone are probably lying or were extremely lucky. Pretty sure the military will kill anyone coming and going from the zone if they found out about it. And people going to dangerous locations for money or treasure is not a new thing, and those that do go probably just underestimate exactly how dangerous the zone is. And radiation anomalies definitely exist on top of the radiation from chernobyl, which yes is safe in some areas but not safe enough to be in for extended periods of time.
I prefer the real life zone, I could actually sneak in and survive...
I hope to get there someday soon and see it
@@IntoTheZone me too man, me too.
Gosh, dang it, i would take a step into the zone . Even in the game, i stepped out of recruity village and died to dogs and boars instantly
As I am a former French Legionary and a very careful person and attentive, I believe i'd be fine.
You could probably would be able to get in via the mercenaries operating in the zone too.
@@nilsingvar7319 I'd rather go with the loners as I also speak Russian and they have the most experienced people to learn from and team up with.
@@nilsingvar7319 Also i'd bring 15,000€ which would make me a millionaire in rubles lol
@@KaptifLaDistillerie Yeah, bringing a start up capital is a must. Walking about with a rusty shovel and an old soviet pea-shooter is not great for one's survival chances ;)
@@nilsingvar7319 I already have a ton of gear. I was more thinking of getting a juicy exoskeleton with upgrades and buy services from people.
In the end i'd probably join The Monolith though.
