Slow and steady you only get one shot 😉 plus a ruined a trend jig once rushing caught the edge slightly but it was ruined £300 down the pan for the sake of 10 minutes 👍
I used a jigsaw to cut the template out just take your time and try to be as accurate as possible to the line then give it a sand down to remove any bumps the router might follow ✌🏻
It's clear you used a guiding bush. What kind of cutting bit did you use? I am a 70 year old woman renovating my kitchen. What I've learned so far is that I can either use a guide bushel with a straight bit, both of which are less expensive than a 1/2" top bearing which eliminates the need for the bushel. I'll be cutting through a 1 1/2" slab wood. It will be a one time job but I want good result, what kind of bit should I buy?
I use standard 1/2" worktop cutters by @Trend with a guide bush, you want to use a good cutter for a fine cut , the bearing cutters are usually to form a profile such as a rounded edge they follow the inside of the opening so a bush isn't required. if you have questions just let me know amzn.to/3Eif3xv
Well done. I like your careful steady working technique. Would give anyone confidence that you were going to do a great job. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻

Thanks for making these videos!! This looks a lot more accurate than using a jigsaw. But what kind of bit did you use?

Why do you have the center template there just the outer would be needed I would have thought
All Router jigs have both sides, if you don't have both sides the router can lean and then you don't have straight vertical cuts,
@@ProBuildCarpenter Yep, silly me
