And later, after Frodo is stabbed at Weathertop, Sam points out they they are at the site of Bilbo's adventure, and the stone trolls are visible over Sam's shoulder.

They just rescued them and put them on the plateau to keep them safe, that was the safest spot. Also they would be wary of smaug so they wouldn't want the dragon to come after them. So they kept their distance.
@@aussiedudeofthesoutheast789 There was a short comic someone uploaded where Gandalf adds that you don't want them to get hungry while you're riding them(after one of the eagles casually plucks a dwarf off its back and eating it midair).
What's so great: when Gandalf says "Home is behind, the world is ahead" after Bilbo joins the company, those are the lyrics to the song that Pippin sings to Denethor in ROTK as Faramir's horse company charges to their doom. It illustrates how Bilbo's adventures and tales have become a part of Hobbit culture and their lore.
The actor playing Radagast also was The Doctor during the 1980s. The Hobbit is more of a children's book. Peter did add some sub plots to the movies. There was no relationship with the upcoming female elf, for example. When they are at Laketown, watch for the brief pan-over of the eyepatch spy in the foreground. That's Middle Earth fanatic Stephen Colbert.
The Eagles agree to help Gandalf as a favor, in return for him having saved the life of Gwaihir (The Lord of the Eagles), and they would not take them anywhere near where men lived, who might shoot at them if they flew too close to settlements. They would only transport the Company a short distance to a safer location.
Kristen asked, "why him" when Gandalf is selecting Bilbo for the adventure. I believe the reason is that Gandalf has the ability of foresight and had a good inclination that Bilbo had the fortitude, etc. that would be required for the mission.
Peter and WETA don't get enough credit for giving all the dwarves their own distinct looks and personalities. Even in the book, you barely know who's who.
I’m looking forward to your reactions. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen this movie, but the unexpected party itself makes me twitch every time: introvert’s worst nightmare! Balin is my favorite dwarf in this trilogy.
The Hobbit WAS a children's book that Tolkien told to his children AND it is written from Bilbo's perspective (and His adventure was kind of fun). But The Lord of the Rings was finished when Tolkien's children were grown, and was written by Frodo whose adventure WAS much more serious. I think these two 'Trilogies' envisioned that dichotomy very well when taken as a whole. Peter Jackson did a good job and it was SO NICE to have the Howard Shore's soundtracks expanded for these films.
I loved watching the movie because it's wonderful to watch parts of the movie and think "Wow, so that's how this thing led to that event in The Lord of the Rings." I'm looking forward to seeing the next reactions.
This was just what I needed, and it's put me in the mood to watch these again. I found my boxed set of the extended editions for these films the other day --- I've moved recently and much of my BluRay collection is still in boxes . I think that may be my project for this coming weekend. Thank you for reacting to this one!
The Hobbit movies are ALREADY insanely extended 😂😂. You DEFINITELY should have gone for the extended edition of LotR over this. But ANY experience with Middle Earth is a good thing. As long as you enjoy yourself, thats the important part
they are good too, I watched the "reel rejects" ladies react to this movie and closed after 10 minutes. the lady was so cynical, critical and over analyses the technical details. these guys are just enjoying the ride. and of course boobies
Awesome choice extended edition, for the 2nd and 3rdd hobbit movie the extended edition is definitely worth it! Also Kristen definitely bringing the MELONS!
In both trilogys, Peter Jackson used "scaled actors" (children of the right size) as well as camera angles and other tricks to film the Hobbits and Dwarves when they were among Humans, Elves and other big folk. It's in the DVD extras. They carefully cut and spliced the actors' faces onto the scale actors in post production editing
1:17:02 in the books the eagles didn't want to intervene in any wars or anything happening in middle earth. Luckily gandolf is a good friend of theirs form a long time before.
Wow Chara actually knew Dragons covet gold! That raises her IQ about 40 points over a lot of other reactors. 6:26 Thorin and Balin actually weren't there, Balin was 7 when Smaug took Erebor, Thorin was older, around 27 or so but he wasn't at the mountain. 29:26 actually this is long before what you saw. You saw the aftermath of Balin taking back Moria, with Ori and Balin in the tomb. Also Azog was actually killed in that battle, the Dwarves pushed them back. The Battle of Azanulbizar happened because Azog beheaded and mutilated Thrór, Thráin II rallied not only an army of Durin's folk but all the dwarves of Middle Earth and for 6 years they destroyed Orc strongholds in the Misty Mountains fighting all the way to the Eastern Gate of Moria. Outnumbered the Dwarves fought hard again and again until Nain arrived with Dwarves of the Iron Hills and they stormed forward driving the orcs to the gate and Nain called out Azog only to be killed by the orc. Dain Ironfoot which you saw briefly, sprang forward beheading Azog at the tender age of 32. Azog's head was put on a pike. Dain looked in the Eastern Gate of Moria and saw Durin's Bane, the Balrog of Moria. The houses divided not seizing Moria and the Dwarves of Durin moved to the Southern Blue Mountains to wait to take back Erebor and Khazad-dum.
The orc Fimbul was the one who led the chase on the dwarves from Trollshaw Forrest to Rivendell, so he was responsible for failing to capture/killing them, that's why Azog punished him with death.
I highly recommend reading this book as it is short yet so entertaining. I remember reading it for the first time and imagining how Bilbo left his home, joined the Thorin and the boys on the adventure, and ended up becoming a different person by the end of the entire journey. Shorter than reading the Lord of the Rings, but it is a great opener into Tolkien's works if you are a reader! Great reaction and so glad you guys chose the extended version this time xD
I will always love these movies, i grew up with the fight scenes and action but grew up after joining the Marines coming from a small community. These movies hit a lot deeper now. Wanting to stay with my tv shows and movies, in my own little world. But in the end traveling the world meeting new people, definitely makes me love these movies even more
Martin Freeman tells a great story that when the first film came out, he and his then-partner let their young kids watch the scene where the dwarves show up at Bag End, figuring it was family friendly. Their six-year-old daughter quickly got upset because "Those dwarves are BULLYING DADDY"! 😂
It never fails. One of the reasons I like this movie is that it shows Bilbo getting Sting. When that scene plays, I glance to the right, where Sting hangs on the wall, and think of it's sheath in my closet, ready to go on another adventure.
The Hobbit was also written as a children's book, he wrote it that way for his son I believe. Thats why it has songs in it. The LOTR was written as an adults book.
I love the making of for the hobbit and the lord of the rings. That is why I bought the Blu-ray collectors editions of both. Hours and hours of how these epic tales were brought to the big screen. Also, the playback is mirrored, everything is flipped to opposite side. Plus any words on the screen are backwards like a mirror. I'm not used to seeing that on this channel. Editing error? Love the nails Achara. Hope you ladies have a happy new year. Love the reaction vids.
I'm sure it was explained already but if not - the eagles are their own intelligent beings and cannot just be summoned to do bidding; luckily they come in and help when Gandalf asks. I'm simplifying things ofc. :) Enjoying the reactions, glad you are watching the Hobbit movies. They are not LotR but I find them quite enjoyable and love some of the characters, always happy to return to Jackson's vision of Middle Earth! Happy New Years!
After recently having re-watched the movies for the first time, I must admit there is much more in them that I appreciate now then I did 10years ago. And yes, Martin Freeman as Bilbo, and his relationship to everyone, makes the movie. I would have wished that the movies had kept the arc about the son of the White Orc wishing to avenge the death of his father, instead of keeping the White Orc alive but having him loose a hand...
Oh ny dear Achara. Your dad got you the abridged illustration version of The Hobbit. The actual novelization is a massively thick book. And these three movies covers that material. The only criticism I've ever had for Peter Jackson is the way he handled the Eagles. They can actually talk and think for themselves. They were tasked with a purpose within middle earth. Given to them by the Valor. Two subjects that Jackson shied away from. He thought that it was too magical to explain or put into the movie. I aways thought that was a mistake. All in all. I love these movies.
Tolkien began writing "The Hobbit" in 1930, as a way to entertsin his four Children, but it wasn't specifically written for Children...But, rather came from his interest in Mythology and Legend.
Yep, when I was a kid in the 1980s, during Thanksgiving and Christmas, local television stations would run the Animated Hobbit and Lord of The Rings movies.
I love the fact that the entire scene with the trolls doesn't really need to be in the movie, but in the books it was one of, if not the first page (except for the map at the front), to have illustrated pages, so it's highly memorable for all the readers of the book.

@@aussiedudeofthesoutheast789 There was a short comic someone uploaded where Gandalf adds that you don't want them to get hungry while you're riding them(after one of the eagles casually plucks a dwarf off its back and eating it midair).
@@phousefilms😂😂😂😂
What's so great: when Gandalf says "Home is behind, the world is ahead" after Bilbo joins the company, those are the lyrics to the song that Pippin sings to Denethor in ROTK as Faramir's horse company charges to their doom. It illustrates how Bilbo's adventures and tales have become a part of Hobbit culture and their lore.
Ugh I hate that scene but loved his voice
Since you got chills when they sang "Misty mountain cold" I will make your day.
Please watch Peter Hollens and Tim Faust singing it.
Just WOW.
Or Geoff Castallucci. 😮
@Perktube1 Jeff is awesome as well.
@@Perktube1 Geoff is THE cover to listen to. Everything else is background noise.
It's actually one of Mt favorite parts of the movie I'm definitely gonna look thar up
@BreCarter-o3e please let me know your response. You'll understand afterwards🙂.
To a happy and successful year!
0:02 And today Kristen bringing the melons 🍈 and Acharra bringing bananas 🍌 I spit my 💧 trough my nose 👃 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 0:02
"We're going on an adventure!"
I use the Misty Mountain song as my ringtone on my phone. The hauntingly erieness grabs my attention every time.❤
The actor playing Radagast also was The Doctor during the 1980s.
Remember the dwarf kings were given rings as gifts by Sauron. The rings made dwarf kings more greedy. That's what happened.
1:06:53 A wizard is never late Kristen Stephenson-Pino. He arrives precisely when he means to 😠😂
Even though the manners seem harsh, the eating of the food is so it won't spoil while away. They didn't know how long this journey would be.
The Eagles agree to help Gandalf as a favor, in return for him having saved the life of Gwaihir (The Lord of the Eagles), and they would not take them anywhere near where men
lived, who might shoot at them if they flew too close to settlements. They would only transport the Company a short distance to a safer location.
Listen. It is the dwarves for me. Any group of people that love each other this much, touch my heart. The dwarves are awesome ❤
Thanks so much for the upload, love the Hobbit series and enjoy you two
“She will come, remember that” yes ma’am .. she definitely kept her word 😆🙌🏽
My favourite comfort movie ❤❤
Kristen asked, "why him" when Gandalf is selecting Bilbo for the adventure. I believe the reason is that Gandalf has the ability of foresight and had a good inclination that Bilbo had the fortitude, etc. that would be required for the mission.
Balin there with the grey beard is the one in that stone coffin in Moria when Frodo goes with the fellowship. Gimli weeps because he knows him.
Anytime Gandalf talks to the moths or butterflies he is sending a message to Galadriel and she is the one that sends the eagles to their aid.
Peter and WETA don't get enough credit for giving all the dwarves their own distinct looks and personalities. Even in the book, you barely know who's who.
I enjoyed your reactions and how much fun you were having watching it.
The Hobbit is a campfire story. LOTR is an epic.
Kristen's massive heart eyes the moment Thorin shows up ... we're with you, lass.
17:59 Love how Achara got the conkers joke. A true Brit at heart
I’m looking forward to your reactions.
I don’t know how many times I’ve seen this movie, but the unexpected party itself makes me twitch every time: introvert’s worst nightmare! Balin is my favorite dwarf in this trilogy.
I was waiting for you guys to react to the hobbit I can’t wait to continue the adventure 🤣
Thank you for reacting to this one!
im still waiting for the 2nd part
Kristen's laugh is so contagious and her reactions are hilarious.
The Hobbit movies are ALREADY insanely extended 😂😂. You DEFINITELY should have gone for the extended edition of LotR over this. But ANY experience with Middle Earth is a good thing. As long as you enjoy yourself, thats the important part
Did they watch the LOTR movies? I can't find them on the channel.

Holmes and Watson reunited. In an unlikely way though.
Achara: That's what Jaby says all the time.
😅
You'll love these movies. The battle of the 5 armies is brilliant in this expensive version. Tyvm btw.
The two prettiest reactors on YT. I just love you two together!
they are good too, I watched the "reel rejects" ladies react to this movie and closed after 10 minutes. the lady was so cynical, critical and over analyses the technical details. these guys are just enjoying the ride. and of course boobies
“Don’t you fart! Please fart!” Haha
It was just as much fun watching you two react as it was watching the dwarves running from one incident to the next!
You can tell this channel is a huge movie fans because the edits are top tier
"I WANT a hobbit!" - Kristen StephensonPino Dec, 2024
😂
I swear i was just thinking if you girls watched this one already and here it is,im so happy
😂😂
Thank you for the extended editions
It never fails. One of the reasons I like this movie is that it shows Bilbo getting Sting. When that scene plays, I glance to the right, where Sting hangs on the wall, and think of it's sheath in my closet, ready to go on another adventure.
I remember 2024, like it was yesterday😊
The Hobbit discussion just made me think about Delicious in Dungeon and how annoyed Chilchuck would be 😂
So glad you are watching the extended versions
The hobbit was written before the Lord of the Rings and the events of the Hobbit happen before the LOTR events but the film was made after the LOTR
The Hobbit was also written as a children's book, he wrote it that way for his son I believe. Thats why it has songs in it. The LOTR was written as an adults book.
Ladies that introduction was not what we expected..but some of us needed😂😂Enjoyed the watchalong❤
so happy to see u guys react to this trilogy!! ❤
You bought the extended edition of "The Hobbit"? You should have done it for "The Lord of the Rings"! 0:41
I read this comment at the exact time as she said it 😂😂😂
I'd love someone to watch the animated Hobbit film. I grew up on it!
I think Kristen watched it, she mentioned in their LOTR reaction she saw the cartoons, and she even know some references in the cartoon
It's superior to the live-action just from being like 90 minutes long 😂
First Vivian, now Achara referring to Kristen's double taps! You guys are killing me! Killing me!!
You two are looking amazing hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas
This new hair color is absolutely it 🤞🏽💕 literally it suits you so well
The next two movies are epic beyond words. U cant even imagine.
Was waiting for the scene with trolls for some more gross moments lol. The stone trolls were the same ones seen in Fellowship.
A book reader and a caricature watcher. Very nice mix to react. 🎉🎉🎉
Mountains out here playing rockem sockem robots
"In a hole in the ground there lived a Hobbit." Thats the first line of thevook.
I remember when I watched this movie for the first time, amazing memories..
Thorin just got that smoldering intensity.
Watching u two react is such a fun experience. Thank u so much and please keep doing it.
Tolkien began writing "The Hobbit" in 1930, as a way to entertsin his four Children, but it wasn't specifically written for Children...But, rather came from his interest in Mythology and Legend.
Peter Jackson made a Cameo apperance in all three "LotR" and all three "Hobbit" Movies. You can look up who he played. 😃
Yep, when I was a kid in the 1980s, during Thanksgiving and Christmas, local television stations would run the Animated Hobbit and Lord of The Rings movies.
All the Hobbit movies have extended versions 👍
I love the fact that the entire scene with the trolls doesn't really need to be in the movie, but in the books it was one of, if not the first page (except for the map at the front), to have illustrated pages, so it's highly memorable for all the readers of the book.
Hobbits in general are known for not to be seen easy, if not moving in shadows or else they're hard to spot at all.
It is so cool you get to meet Gimli's father in this one "Gloin".
