In The Revenge of Shinobi, the prequel to Shinobi III, you play as a ninja (what else?) who is capable of destroying an entire army of other ninjas, soldiers, and Hollywood characters. The fast attack animation of the ninja (one of which throws fireballs everywhere) makes up for his lack of speed.
In this run, CoolHandMike (tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/C...) beats his original attempt by 00:01.22 seconds thanks to better optimization. - เกม

The fact the crime organization was strong and killed his clan is personal enough already. So you can stfu about simping when it comes to heroic dangerous characters. Joe Musashi can roll all day long, jump in midair several times and kill anybody on his way to save his girlfriend. That's the most brutal shinobi!💪
All the nuns in round 5 are these Valkyrie-like enemies that can't be killed until they reveal themselves. Joe is like "Maybe that's an innocent nun!" after killing ten of them.

@davejones1621 You could play sega CD games in a CD player for their soundtracks. I did it with this, final fight, earthworm jim, batman returns, etc.
It was said that it could mess up the game because it wasn't formatted for anything else other than the game system, but I never had one mess up on me. 🤷♂️

Does anyone think that every enemy install a lot of TNT inside their bodies because of them exploding when they get defeated? 🤔
Being an old school videogame, people had to be creative to get rid of defeated enemies. This and even without the rating system, you can't simply sell disembodied ninjas everywhere.

Epic game, took me hours to beat when I was a kid, I was amazed we fought Spiderman, Morbius, Daredevil, mother brain, terminator, the hulk, Godzilla, Shredder, and Jiraiya from Naruto lol I wish they remastered this game with newer graphics for these new consoles, it was and still epic

Why is Spiderman a boss? Can't imagine Sega getting permission to include that in their game.
Later releases included a Marvel copyright notice before the title screen. The original Japanese release (The Super Shinobi) was copyright-infringement-palooza, where Spidey was backed up by a flying Batman and Godzilla was much more recognizable with his back scales. As for the Hulk-Terminator, that could be any shades-wearing muscle guy who turns progressively more green as you damage him and then explodes into a robotic endoskeleton and is not infringing at all.

Pressing certain combinations of buttons while jumping can allow you to do an additional double jump.
And I bet this certain combinations of buttons execution is beyond human capabilities.

8:30 🤣 why was a random henchman hyperbagging?
So the game reads your inputs. So I was holding LR to keep that "falling state" but also alternating Down and no input. So the game believes I am rapidly ducking and standing up. This causes the ninja to want to crouch when it reads the down input and stand when it does not read the down input. Thought that looked pretty funny so I put that in a couple places in the tas.

Also, had no idea that you could stop the crushing obstacles at the final boss. I thought you had to get the power up and use the electrical shield to beat his ass...
The stage at 5:20 is the furthest I've ever gotten in this game...

I’d like to think joe is just scooting along here, vibing to yuzo koshiro’s soundtrack the whole way through the game because his ninja mastery has reached such high levels he doesn’t even need to pay attention to the things around him lmao, it looks as if he doing shit to the beat lol everything is second nature to him now

For this game the developers never tested what happens if you press normally unavailable button combinations on a controller. So things like U + D, and L + R, UDLR, and various combinations have strange effects.
How could you do It? Some hack?
I got up to the Godzilla boss as a kid but died there :( wasn’t all that far from the end!

To this day it still bothers me that the enemies blow up upon their defeat. I know, it was to save space on animation on a 4mg cart.

He used a Trainer, a software that basically modded the game
None of the bosses get one shotted. You are probably referring to the Disco Ninja which is probably the fastest. That one if you do the kunai wheel and spam it you can get almost every hit in at once..except for the final one which requires another kunai wheel shortly after.
