"We talked about this!" Imagine like all the darkin just having a saturday meeting on some secret cave and sit on a round table to discuss about the names and the weapons.
Something else to consider Necrit, Aatrox's lore also links him to Shurima: "Once honored defenders of Shurima against the Void, Aatrox and his brethren would eventually become an even greater threat to Runeterra, and were defeated only by cunning mortal sorcery. " "A fallen god-warrior who once threatened to destroy Runeterra, Aatrox and his kin were bound to ancient weapons and imprisoned for centuries." (If you remember, 'god-warrior' is used in the Where Icathia Once Stood story to refer to Shuriman Ascendants) I believe the Shuriman Ascendants and the Targonian Aspects may have more in common than we realize

I honestly think his new countenance is very interesting from a story standpoint. He’s supposed to be the leader of the Darkin, right? He has all the makings of a perfect leader: intimidation factor, badassery, and loads of charisma. However, at the same time, he’s also very naive, as a large chunk of Runeterran history has passed him by, so he doesn’t know a lot of new developments. This explains why he reacts so definitely to characters like the Shurimans, who are ancient beings in their own right, but is utterly confused at someone like Kled. It also explains how he seems rather singleminded when compared to a lot of other characters in League; he’s a relic of an age long since passed, akin to a Medieval knight suddenly appearing in 2018.
Aatrox isn’t a madmen. He simply wants revenge on Zoe for what happened to him. Perfectly reasonable. He just wants to die and he knows that’s only going to happen if he destroys everything.
Matheus Felipe Francisco Aatrox’s quotes actually fits the current Pantheon better, cause the old Pantheon (the one he killed so hard he made the stars disappear) was an aspect who fought alone, the current one actually fights along side mortals.
Have you read Aatrox' short bio on the PBE? "Once honored defenders of Shurima against the Void, Aatrox and his brethren would eventually become an even greater threat to Runeterra, and were defeated only by cunning mortal sorcery. But after centuries of imprisonment, Aatrox was the first to find freedom once more, corrupting and transforming those foolish enough to try and wield the magical weapon that contained his essence. Now, with stolen flesh, he walks Runeterra in a brutal approximation of his previous form, seeking an apocalyptic and long overdue vengeance." It kinda takes the whole to a more complicated level!
Noa Brütsch Nice I think That's why Aatrox Called Pantheon a betrayer, because targonian Betrayed Them?? Hmmmmm And That's why He is So Mad At Targonian
Ok, so methinks that they were targonians that fought against the void but their minds were sort of corrupted or something. Then, instead of helping them, the ascended targonians cast them out. That's why Aatrox sees hypocrisy in Pantheon's talk of brotherhood. Idk, might need more refining but these are my rough thoughts
may be there was a battle between the darkin, targon vs the void to protect shurima and after the battle the targonians turn against the darkins and sealed them
He ( Aatrox ) also says that he isn's sure if he is corupted by the void. Targonians were the biggest fighters against the void. Pylas was a Targonian.
"When Zoe arrives somewhere, a big change is about to happen." This is true even in game. The arrival of Zoe prophesized the change that is the clusterfuck of a meta that we have now. Not that I'm complaining, I like this change.
This meta is caused by Guinsoo being too op, bruisers not having any real counter, adcs being shit and bruisers replacing them, assassins being too op and mages being too shit
+Zylen Well bruisers do have counters, but it's other bruisers so champions from the same class xD but other classes cannot counter them, which is why most of them are great duelists.
Here's the thing: the lore on the PBE right now says that the Darkin were protectors..... of Shurima. No, I don't know how that's supposed to make sense either, but one of the writers says there will be a full lore update with short story to come for Aatrox expanding on it.
When Icathian people relaese the void even ascended gods from shurimas has been defeated so i guess targonian and darkins helped the shurimans ascended with their queen Setaka to fight the void.
I feel like Pantheon and Aatrox were fighting against the Void's legions, desperately buying time for others to escape. We don't know Pantheons side of the story, but hating Zoe as much as Aatrox does makes me think that she may have warped Pantheon out of the Void while keeping Aatrox inside. Maybe Aatrox knew of a way out on his own, but Zoe told the Void what they needed to do to blockade his passage back out. Maybe this is through some special gateway that Aatrox that was closed by the Void right after Pantheon passed through it, which is why Aatrox is pissed off at Pantheon, thinking that his supposed brother in arms has betrayed him while beating it out of the Voids creatures about who gave them the ability to close tha gate.Maybe, like Kayn, Aatrox was once a normal warrior carrying around a Darkin weapon who gave himself to the blade after the betrayal, but due to Aatrox's honorable nature, the sword let its hosts memories and personality merge with its own, thus giving it a potent motivation in the form of Vengeance.Eventually, Aatrox managed to find a way out of the Void, potentially by allowing a piece of himself to be consumed/infused by it in order to create another gateway into Runeterra. This is why he isn't outright hostile to the Void anymore and is now simply afraid of becoming one of them as he has most likely seen the horrors they can do first hand.
I believe those two are entirely diferent events. I believe Pantheon did leave Aatrox behind, leading to him becoming a Darkin. Then later, when Targon started seeing the Darkins as a threat, the Aspect, not necessarily Zoe herself since Aatrox never refers to her by name, gave the mortals of Runeterra the tools to seal them.
Justicar skin of Aatrox is how Aatrox is supposed to be that did happened honestly but as an empire he was fallen as a threat and he is agonized by its unfairness. The current Aatrox being his base was his corruption from the Justicar he deserves, he deserves to be a Justicar not a Darkin, he is sicked by his slaying purpose and only wants to start again yet likes of Zoe betrayed him into being an agonized being within the weapon he didn't even had the hope to be as good as Kenshin Himura's wisdom. Such reference n ideals aint ya
@@gierchdekuma9687 Justicar Aatrox is not how he looked like before he turned to darkin, it's part of the archlight series which is in alternate universe.
u should have also gone over a few of his non interactive quotes as well. For instance, he has one that goes: "I once had another name...but now, I am a Darkin!". He also has another that goes: "I may be damned but, I will remake this world in my wretched image!"
The second line Aatrox says to Pantheon has so much VENOM. I mean, he is enraged and furious at Zoe, but the anguished tone makes it sound like Pantheon *betrayed* him. It sounds like he's crying "I trusted you!"
The Targonians, in general, betrayed Aurelion Sol by gifting him something that would enslave him. Pantheon basically enforced their rule over him, forcing him to fight against the void, by closing void rifts and destroying void creatures with fresh stars.
I feel like aatrox is confirming that darkins and targonian were once partners or an alliance against the void. When darkins and targonian aspects came to runeterra to combat the void but while there the humans and targon betrayed the darkins and sealed them away.
enigmatic gentleman do you remember video about Darkins? Connect that to this and you can get a theory that Aatrox isn't born as Darkin, instead he turned into Darkin willingly to fight back void. Darkin came in peace but later on war started against them bcs ppl are stupid amd they didn't know Darkin were preparing them for Void. Aatrox isn't transforming others into Darkin, he gives them a choice: to fight for him (he calls them slaves, empowered by his power) or to fight with him (turns them into Darkin). Rhaast and Varus came after the first battle so only thing they know is that they need to kill runeterrans
You dont create Darkins they are only weapons because they were forced into them. And also Aatrox is just as fine with killing runeterrans as the others. The Darkin are a "alien" race. You dont turn into them.
if i remember aatrox old lore correctely he was able to lead a before defeated and outnumbered army to victory. empowering the soldiers with his sole presence and after they won the war the surviving soldiers felt nothing but horror about what they have done to emerge victorious. so i think it makes sense that aatrox searches for allies and turning them into something darkin-like. That would also mean that aatrox isnt just murdering everything on sight but that he follows some goal (maybe yield war against the void and the targonians ?) Well i just hope they leave some of his old lore i would be dissapointed if he would be just badshit insane by now ^^
Maybe Aatrox is in Atreus' (Pantheon before getting the aspect) friend body - Pylas? It was told that he died during the climb to the top of Mount Targon but that may change. It feels like he was once Pantheon's friend, and that he left him. That would fit perfect for me, but i don't know how he would become a Darkin.
Exactly what I was thinking about the whole time!! Thank you, his friend was not the greatest person in the world, he had done many evil things before too, but he slowly perished the evil away from his heart and turned into a good person, but the evil part of him was still somewhere deep inside his heart, and so he couldn't turn into an aspect and turned into a Darkin instead! Which we now know as Aatrox
I was thinking - what if he died cuz Pantheon betrayed him so he will not get to the top of Targon and so he became Darkin. (becouse of that little evil that stayed in him) BTW: I didn´t read Pantheon´s story, I am just guessing...
+NightHunterCZ Well, you're wrong, that does not happen in Pantheon(Atreus)'s story, his friend dies on Atreus's hands and they both made it to the top of Targon, but only Atreus was chosen by The Aspect, and Atreus wipes off his tears and gives his friend a proper burial before going into the realm of the Aspects, a place of no return, turning into something, completely different. Atreus pretty much died there as well, but his body was still alive, under the control of the Aspect of War, Pantheon.
I would guess he is the Aspect of Peace,(in the demacian Lore with Garen i think it was said that taric got kicked out because he didnt wanted to harm anybody orsomething ) P.S. What i say can be wrong
I have a theory, didnt pantheon have a friend/brother who didnt manage to reach the summit with him? What if aatrox was that person and pantheon had betrayed him?
I mean, it lines up with both of them having this connection to the aspect of war (Pantheon being an actual of war, and Aatrox being the war hungry being they were in their old lore)
Or it's just a refference that Kayle and Morgana are getting reworked to fit in the ''ascensions'' a bit more. Just how like Swain taunted old Irelia till it was obvious the taunt was a refference to new Irelia.
OK I like how hypocritical he was when he said the new aatrox sounds more like rhaast and then 1 minute later he says the new aatrox sounds NOTHING like rhaast
I originally was hoping when kayn was being teased, that when aatrox got more of a back story, we would find out the body aatrox's body was that of an angel and that is why he had wings
I personally love the new Aatrox. I do miss the old mysterious Aatrox as someone described in the comments... But this new one, the voice, and everything is great!
Okay, here is my theory about Pantheon and Aatrox We know that Pantheon is an aspect of War,a Targonian God,we also see in the dialogue that Aatrox hates Pantheon not only as an aspect but also as a person, since he always brings up friendship and betrayal,my theory is that the Pantheon took Atreus as a vessel, and Aatrox took plyas as a vessel(since we know that Aatrox only takes powerful warriors),and that je is mad at Pantheon for leaving him in the top of the mountain. Just to be clear I'm not a lore expert I just finished watching a Pantheon lore video and I saw this connection, maybe it's nothing but I just wanted to point it out.
LoLzon I’m a little late on this answer, but if we’re going by the information at the time of this video, that theory doesn’t make sense. I’m assuming plyas is the name of the other guy with atreus when they tried to climb the mountain. In the lore it said he died when he reached the top, so that wouldn’t be possible
My theory is that "the worms" Kayle isn't worthy of relates to him infesting another "vessel". The old lore had Aatrox empowering Tryndamere, and Trynda got the Demonblade skin, demon=darkin in League, so it's Darkinblade, like Aatrox's old name. Tryndamere is infested with worms with Demonblade skin. Kayle isn't worthy of ascension, she isn't a Targonian, nor of the worms, not a Darkin. I don't know where it leads, but it all connects.
sooo from what i saw i ended up with this theory: Darkins and Aspects are like opposites but somehow similar, both need vessels ,Darkins corrupt vessels while targoniens ??(i dont know what they do xd) ,maaaaaybe the void became such a threat that pantheon needed the help of the Darkins and then betrayed them to take them down (perhaps they were enemies before and the aspects saw it as a good opportunity). the joke where Aatrox says "there was a memo" feels to me like the 4 darkins we heard about were sent and chose those names to interact with runeterrans. now for the "Slayer of Gods" i still dont have an explanation for it (not sure if aatrox sees aspects as gods or maybe he killed some godlike creatures in the void or in some past wars ??) Edit: God king Darius says somethin about Aatrox fighting to end the tyranny of gods....this is getting deeper and deeper
read pantheon's lore you will know what will happen to those who have been chosen but not all aspects possess vessels some aspects just venerate other worthy people to become their representative just read zoe, diana, Leona or even taric's lore if there is any error just read the lore (Y)
Idk, he screams alot about killing God's, but this guy is also not sounding very sane so what are his words worth really... Also he got defeated by non God's so I don't think he's that powerful, but who knows really.
William van der Scheer they use tricks to seal him... Not raw power... It is said that whole runeterran unite just to fight the darkins but still lost and lastly they manage to seal them with the help of trickery and this "special tools" and unlike rhaast and varus who was born darkins... Aatrox is a turn into.... So that explains why he know targon really well... And about the vessel thing i suspect that each vessel have time limit how long can a darkin possess... Before it rotten out... Thus the reason why aatrox looking for a new body
Kei A.I it's never been said whole runeterra fought the darkin, mainly just shurima and the golden warrior queen. Nothing from the god champions are reffered or refer themselves to it. The only thing of the aspects involvement thats certain atm is that Zoe gave them the tools for tricking him, if that is all they did, then nothing says darkin actually fought with the gods. And if Zoe can just hand mortals some gear to beat the darkin, then either Zoe is extremely powerful (which she is for sure) or darkin aren't that powerful compared to the gods. I mean, aatrox is a big brutal guy, but his magic is... Eh? How much magic does he even have. How will he compare to any of the gods or the aspects that can just blast him out of reality if they feel like it. I just don't get a sense of true godlike power from him. Maybe more lore will reveal, but ATM, I see no evidence of him even approximating that kind of power, outside of his cocky godkiller attitude. So far, all bark, no bite. In fact, there was a huge darkin invasion read varus lore, it talks about multiple WAVES of darkin maybe thousands but far more than 5, and.they all died/got trapped w/e happened to them, that does not at all sound like the darkin are so powerful...
It almost seems like the Darkin weapons were sealed in other worlds to me-- Kayn’s shadow-walking ability might have let him reach the plane where Shen’s Ghost Blade stands on to pull Rhaast from there I think Aatrox might have been hidden in the void world (thus showing his worry about looking like a void creature) and his host is one of the same race as Kayle and Morgana and in an attempt to turn the tides of the war in their world the being that Aatrox overpowered ventured to the void to find that weapon. Eventually, Aatrox defeated his host and his angelic form transformed into a Darkin and that would explain how he knows Kayle and Morgana in my opinion. But hey, that’s just a theory, a GAYME THEORY!
*Aatrox-Pantheon* Aatrox and Pantheon could have been close as friends , and somehow aatrox discovered he could become much more powerful (a darkin) and he decided to do so. He also might have decided to invite Pantheon to join him and become as powerful as him, however Pantheon could have refused and shared his actions to the rest of the targonians which is what led to Zoe finding out about Aatrox and that is why she gave the targonians the tools to capture him so this could explain why Aatrox calls Pantheon a betrayer.
I am thinking that Aatrox really concern about the double "A" thing was because A is for "Ascended". He really wanted his ascended form rather than with vessel just like now.
Interesting thing to add to aatrox wanting tryndamere for his next vessel, take a closer look at aatrox's right arm, it looks kinda buffed up compared to his left. Tryndamere throughout gameplay has a right arm that is stronger than his left by a large amount. Just a fun thing to add
Maybe the 'bound' stuff with Morg means that rather than travel into void realms or whatever they're called to fight the void, she decided to instead permenantly stay on Runeterra. That way, she would be bound to the plane, and Aatrox's resentment would stem from knowing that he's risked his life many times fighting the void.
2 kindsof beings who need a vessel The aspects of targon The Darkin Possibly aatrox was a soldier of targon who fought the void, aatrox fought along side pantheon and the other champions of targon. During one of their fights againts the void, aatrox and other targonians fought the void and lost, thinking that nobody survived they did not send in reinforcements thats why aatrox feels betrayed. Aatrox vessel might have encountered a darkin when it came to the battfield. He must have been choosen to be the vessel of aatrox the darkin. My theory about why aatrox thinks he was corrupted by the void might be because of velkoz. Velkoz champion teaser long ago showed that velkoz purpose was to gather information about the world of runeterra when velkoz peaked into the mind of aatrox vessel he was somehow corrupted by the void as well much like kassadin. The void corrupted vessel of aatrox laid on the battlefield until the darkin aatrox came along and inhabited his body without knowing the void corrupted mind it has.
Pantheon climbs with his Long friend, Pylus, I've been thinking this the whole time but here's how I think the lore goes... (copy pasting this from another comment) his friend was not the greatest person in the world, he's done many evil things as well, but he slowly perished the evil away from his heart and turned into a good person, but the evil part of him was still somewhere deep inside his heart, and so he couldn't turn into an aspect and turned into a Darkin instead! Which we now know as Aatrox
+SilentBigsteve The aspects are not evil beings, so no I don't think Pantheon would trick (former Aatrox body) to pick up the sword and turn into a Darkin, hell they're the reasons why the darkins were trapped in a sword in the first place, why would Pantheon want to ever redo that?
26:08 Nobody has said anything on how even Kale's sword looks very similar to Aatrox's. the large "gem" right after the hilt, the shape of the tip, and wider bottom of the blade. Although it seems as though Aatrox's sword has the gem at the tip ripped out or something
I am pretty sure when Aatrox was talking to Fiora he was simply refering to the fact that her full name is Fiora, the grand duelist, not that whole thing with the vassel. In his commentary we saw that he is breaking the 4th wall quite a lot (i.e. the commentary about the mastery)
i was thinking the interaction where Aatrox said that he knew Fiora's name was like her title "The Grand Duelist". So i though he was saying that she wouldn't be able to win the duel against him
I Think I just want to relate the previous aatrox(before the rework) and the current one. The previous one is the actual form and voice of aatrox and the current one is the vessel??
Aatrox quotes can confirm also something about Rhaast : while Aatrox is still mad about the imprisonement of the Darkins , and seeks a more powerfull vessel to get stronger , and ultimately achieve his vengence , Rhaast is a madman who wants just to keep killing stuff , and would go even against his own "brothers" , dragged by his lust for destruction. Aatrox has a purpose , and maybe even Varus is committed somewhat to his cause , but Rhaast just wants to harvest has many lives as he can. When you kill Aatrox as Rhaast , he says "You were standing in my way , brother" wich could mean that Rhaast really doesn't care about the other Darkins , he just wants to see the world burn and fall , regardless of who he kills
aatrox said that panth betrayed him , panth and targon betrayed aurelion soul also from the quotes it seems aatrox doesnt know what race he is. i think he was targonian that was about to acsend same as kayle's race and morgana( cuz he is the only one among darkin who has wins) , pantheon and the targon decided that they will capture aurelion soul and enslave him , and some of there warriors who were about to ascend they refused to go with there plan and ran away to the void then they got deacsended there or corrupted by the void ( i prefer that they deascended ). i read before that the darkin's home got destroyed and went to runeterra if that is true then forget about what i said .
My theory about Morgana and Kayle is that they are two entities that came from the same body. I think someone who wasn’t completely pure of heart climbed Targon and was going to be chosen by an Aspect, but they saw the evil in her and separated them into two beings: Kayle is the justice-seeking spirit and Morgana is the sinful body. Kayle was then allowed to stay on Targon but not as an aspect and Morgana was banished back to Runeterra most likely until she could climb Targon. This would also explain how they’re sisters as they’d have originated from the same body and are connected by blood but are two separate beings. It would also explain why they hate each other since they’re both to blame for the other being stuck in this limbo
I don't think so precisely because Aatrox is referring to a choice Morgana made. The choice to be bound to Runeterra. This strips your theory's fundament, sorry. :/
It seems to be moreso that Morgana and Kayle were both in line to become the next "Golden Warrior Queen," as this is probably referring to an ancestor of Kayle. I think it's implying that Morgana chose to side with the humans of Runeterra without answering to the gods/aspects or the Darkin. If you've played a Shin Megami Tensei game, she is the neutral character as opposed to Order (Kayle) and Chaos (Aatrox).
Since targon is like heaven, the darkin may be like demons of hell. my theory is that the targonians and Darkin fought the void TOGETHER and pantheon betrayed them, using zoes tools with his vessels in thr different regions of runeterra to seal the darkin who became too powerful for targons safety and runetrrras gods. he feels betrayal and now wants revenge on all gods and targonians, especially zoe. every darkin chooses one of the hellish weapons to become one with it, thus making it possible to exist as just the weapon like rhaast did. and Aatrox always says hail pantheon to mock him as the fake god he pretends to be., or to mock him because Aatrox is the slayer of gods.
Maybe Aatrox's vessel and pre-ascention pantheon we're bros and somehow had a common adventure where one became a darkin and the other the aspect of war, also note that Aatrox have a big "raging warlord" theme, maybe the creation of an aspect also creates a darkin.
I wonder if key that Zoe's carrying has st together with it... i know that it's being said that Fiddle was carrying same key before (idk if that's true) but it would be really cool
Eh maybe, that can be true I guess, still think he could be hinting at aurelion sol, but it’s probably that he hates the aspect of war who doesn’t cause war
Morgana is a darkin. - She has heal - Urgot has a quote against darkin and morgana when he kills them "i am all the weapon i need" - morgana is a support and could be varus's sister because she is also drawn in a purple style
She, is an ascended; but as I said again, she isn't a living weapon; each of the current Darkin we know, are living weapons; if she was a Darkin, she would've been sealed away during the Darkin war along with Aatrox, Rhaast, and Varus as the known Darkin.
necrit what if aatrox wants to absorb swordmans like fiora and tryndamere, instead of changing bodies, like varus has both the speed and the accuracy of both valmar and kai, plus the darkin strength.
What if darkin are actually targoniana who were trapped and corrupted by the void left behind in a past war with pantheons leadership. Which is why he hates them cuz they were left. Basically maybe this explains aatrox questionung if he was ever really fully corrupted
I think some of the Pantheon interactions are possibly hinting at a future Pantheon rework. With that they could add more depth in the relationship between him and Aatrox, and have his oddly specific interactions make more sense.

He just wants to die and he knows that’s only going to happen if he destroys everything.
interestingly, the new lore of Pantheon still works with the Aatrox quotes
Matheus Felipe Francisco Aatrox’s quotes actually fits the current Pantheon better, cause the old Pantheon (the one he killed so hard he made the stars disappear) was an aspect who fought alone, the current one actually fights along side mortals.
Of course they do. Pantheon was high on the list of VGU. They planned it out.
Now, with stolen flesh, he walks Runeterra in a brutal approximation of his previous form, seeking an apocalyptic and long overdue vengeance."
It kinda takes the whole to a more complicated level!
Does this mean the Darkin are actually even more powerful than the Void creatures ?
Noa Brütsch Nice I think That's why Aatrox Called Pantheon a betrayer, because targonian Betrayed Them?? Hmmmmm And That's why He is So Mad At Targonian
Ok, so methinks that they were targonians that fought against the void but their minds were sort of corrupted or something. Then, instead of helping them, the ascended targonians cast them out. That's why Aatrox sees hypocrisy in Pantheon's talk of brotherhood. Idk, might need more refining but these are my rough thoughts
may be there was a battle between the darkin, targon vs the void to protect shurima and after the battle the targonians turn against the darkins and sealed them
So the dude can is half void and half darkin
Could it be that Aatrox's curent vesle is Pylas? Pantheons biggest rival. Based on the voice lines he gives to him.
Becouse they climbed to the top of maunt Targon together, Atreus became Pantheon and Pylas became Aatrox
He ( Aatrox ) also says that he isn's sure if he is corupted by the void. Targonians were the biggest fighters against the void. Pylas was a Targonian.
Also maybe Aatrox resurected Pylas at the top of maunt Targon. He saw that he was strong and worthy to be his next vessle.
Necrit should see this

This is true even in game. The arrival of Zoe prophesized the change that is the clusterfuck of a meta that we have now. Not that I'm complaining, I like this change.

I just realized tryndamere's sword had like a socket like other darkin when weapons had eyes
the "let me kill you... a thousand times isn't enough!" might be a metallica reference (from seek and destroy)
Here's the thing: the lore on the PBE right now says that the Darkin were protectors..... of Shurima. No, I don't know how that's supposed to make sense either, but one of the writers says there will be a full lore update with short story to come for Aatrox expanding on it.
Since Varus hints at the Darkin coming from another world entirely I think the Darkin were deployed to Shurima by the Targonians.
When Icathian people relaese the void even ascended gods from shurimas has been defeated so i guess targonian and darkins helped the shurimans ascended with their queen Setaka to fight the void.
Them being Shuriman was the DUMBEST shit.
They're Ascended Shurimans that used blood magic to be more powerful which corrupted their minds.
I myself prefer the new lore
I wish they would make Darkin skins for Tryn, Fiora etc. That would be cool like aatrox successfully made them his vessel
In league Wild rift Tryn's Demonblade looks more Darkin like

@@gierchdekuma9687 Justicar Aatrox is not how he looked like before he turned to darkin, it's part of the archlight series which is in alternate universe.
really like this theory, aatrox not being the bad guy.
Everything Darkin related in League is guaranteed to be great! Keep it up with the Darkin videos mate!
u should have also gone over a few of his non interactive quotes as well.
For instance, he has one that goes: "I once had another name...but now, I am a Darkin!".
He also has another that goes: "I may be damned but, I will remake this world in my wretched image!"
teemo is the root of all evil
The second line Aatrox says to Pantheon has so much VENOM.
I mean, he is enraged and furious at Zoe, but the anguished tone makes it sound like Pantheon *betrayed* him. It sounds like he's crying "I trusted you!"
„Come Betrayer“ don‘t you think that Aatrox is talking about how Pantheon betrayed Aurelion Sol?
The Targonians, in general, betrayed Aurelion Sol by gifting him something that would enslave him. Pantheon basically enforced their rule over him, forcing him to fight against the void, by closing void rifts and destroying void creatures with fresh stars.
It could also suggest that Aatrox was betrayed by him, especially since hinting they worked together once
that is true. They say the darkin were summoned to help fight the void. Im surprised aatrox doesnt have a line towards a sol tbh
Me watching the interactions: wow its so cool, he has so many quotes
My subconscious: *they are all in q backwards-e range*
Rhaast and Varus came after the first battle so only thing they know is that they need to kill runeterrans
great, now targon is even more of a gary stu now
You dont create Darkins they are only weapons because they were forced into them.
That would also mean that aatrox isnt just murdering everything on sight but that he follows some goal (maybe yield war against the void and the targonians ?)
Well i just hope they leave some of his old lore i would be dissapointed if he would be just badshit insane by now ^^
Thats his old lore though.
This line when Aatrox kills Kai'sa reminded me of Artorias from Dark Souls, also Aatrox Q is very similar to Artorias' style.

Except Aatrox actually counters teemo
(becouse of that little evil that stayed in him)
BTW: I didn´t read Pantheon´s story, I am just guessing...
Thx for answer, I was too lazy to read his story :P

Clarence Tempest he wants to be a gynecologist when he grows up
I would guess he is the Aspect of Peace,(in the demacian Lore with Garen i think it was said that taric got kicked out because he didnt wanted to harm anybody orsomething )
It might be.

Oh also, “Hail” can also be used as a greeting like “Hey” which is how I think Aatrox is using it.
I personally love the new Aatrox. I do miss the old mysterious Aatrox as someone described in the comments... But this new one, the voice, and everything is great!
Okay, here is my theory about Pantheon and Aatrox
We know that Pantheon is an aspect of War,a Targonian God,we also see in the dialogue that Aatrox hates Pantheon not only as an aspect but also as a person, since he always brings up friendship and betrayal,my theory is that the Pantheon took Atreus as a vessel, and Aatrox took plyas as a vessel(since we know that Aatrox only takes powerful warriors),and that je is mad at Pantheon for leaving him in the top of the mountain.
Maybe Pantheon is a “betrayer” because he’s the one that made Aatrox a darkin to save his own skin? 🤔
29:52 "We confirmed that Zoe is that Aspect of Cheng" xD
Also Aatrox is teasing the Morgana and Kayle I'm pretty sure it's coming soon as they are both amongst the oldest champs in League
sooo from what i saw i ended up with this theory:
Darkins and Aspects are like opposites but somehow similar, both need vessels ,Darkins corrupt vessels while targoniens ??(i dont know what they do xd) ,maaaaaybe the void became such a threat that pantheon needed the help of the Darkins and then betrayed them to take them down (perhaps they were enemies before and the aspects saw it as a good opportunity).
the joke where Aatrox says "there was a memo" feels to me like the 4 darkins we heard about were sent and chose those names to interact with runeterrans.
now for the "Slayer of Gods" i still dont have an explanation for it (not sure if aatrox sees aspects as gods or maybe he killed some godlike creatures in the void or in some past wars ??)
Edit: God king Darius says somethin about Aatrox fighting to end the tyranny of gods....this is getting deeper and deeper
read pantheon's lore you will know what will happen to those who have been chosen
but not all aspects possess vessels some aspects just venerate other worthy people to become their representative just read zoe, diana, Leona or even taric's lore
if there is any error just read the lore (Y)
the whole Darkin/Aspect being opposites im not too sure of it right now but the part where the Darkin and aspects both fight the void is pretty clear.
Darkin are void touched/influenced fallen Shuriman ascendeds!
Can we confirm Aatrox as more powerful then the aspects or the gods? It seems he could only be tricked, not defeated
the same in power levels plus the void has something in there that we don't know
Idk, he screams alot about killing God's, but this guy is also not sounding very sane so what are his words worth really...
William van der Scheer we don't know what is the tool are... And from who Zoe got it... So saying darkin weak is just dumb?
Aatrox is basically one of the most metal character there is
1:15 doesnt this confirm that the other unknown darkin have double a in their names?
The Morgana one is accurate to her current rework. An angel who choose to bound her wings to be closer to the earth.
It almost seems like the Darkin weapons were sealed in other worlds to me-- Kayn’s shadow-walking ability might have let him reach the plane where Shen’s Ghost Blade stands on to pull Rhaast from there
I think Aatrox might have been hidden in the void world (thus showing his worry about looking like a void creature) and his host is one of the same race as Kayle and Morgana and in an attempt to turn the tides of the war in their world the being that Aatrox overpowered ventured to the void to find that weapon. Eventually, Aatrox defeated his host and his angelic form transformed into a Darkin and that would explain how he knows Kayle and Morgana in my opinion.
But hey, that’s just a theory, a GAYME THEORY!
Ari B was that last line really necessary!?
Zac Khalinsky yes i like gayme theory
*Aatrox-Pantheon*
Aatrox and Pantheon could have been close as friends , and somehow aatrox discovered he could become much more powerful (a darkin) and he decided to do so.
2 kindsof beings who need a vessel
The aspects of targon
The Darkin
Possibly aatrox was a soldier of targon who fought the void, aatrox fought along side pantheon and the other champions of targon.
I think it clicks, Atreus climbed the mountain with somebody else, and Atreus became Pantheon and the other guy might have become Aatrox
Or I'm thinking that pantheon tricked him into picking up the sword
Pantheon climbs with his Long friend, Pylus, I've been thinking this the whole time but here's how I think the lore goes... (copy pasting this from another comment)
his friend was not the greatest person in the world, he's done many evil things as well, but he slowly perished the evil away from his heart and turned into a good person, but the evil part of him was still somewhere deep inside his heart, and so he couldn't turn into an aspect and turned into a Darkin instead!
Remember the dark angels of Morgana’s lore?
Are the Darkin the “dark angels” who refused to surreder to the light.
26:08 Nobody has said anything on how even Kale's sword looks very similar to Aatrox's. the large "gem" right after the hilt, the shape of the tip, and wider bottom of the blade. Although it seems as though Aatrox's sword has the gem at the tip ripped out or something
I think taric is the aspect of hope he always says "That glimmer of hope you see, that's me."
With Kayle and Morgana's rework Aatrox's interactions with them make so much more sense
I was thinking the same thing!
I’m not a god I am a demigod
Anivia you are also not meta
Accept the fate ur a god

Varus didn’t get the memo.
Typical Vaarus
I am pretty sure when Aatrox was talking to Fiora he was simply refering to the fact that her full name is Fiora, the grand duelist, not that whole thing with the vassel. In his commentary we saw that he is breaking the 4th wall quite a lot (i.e. the commentary about the mastery)
Notice how Aatrox dies his body falls on the ground and fades away just like Zoe
I wish they kept “tryndamere....my greatest creation” (or something like that)
maybe zoe told targon how to capture aurelion sol too.
i was thinking the interaction where Aatrox said that he knew Fiora's name was like her title "The Grand Duelist". So i though he was saying that she wouldn't be able to win the duel against him
I Think I just want to relate the previous aatrox(before the rework) and the current one. The previous one is the actual form and voice of aatrox and the current one is the vessel??
Mico Bo it could be the opposite actually
My headcanon is that old aatrox was his form before he was sealed in his weapon
3:52 now with Naafiri they HAVE to go back and retcon Varus to Vaarus
aatrox said that panth betrayed him , panth and targon betrayed aurelion soul also from the quotes it seems aatrox doesnt know what race he is.
i think he was targonian that was about to acsend same as kayle's race and morgana( cuz he is the only one among darkin who has wins) , pantheon and the targon decided that they will capture aurelion soul and enslave him , and some of there warriors who were about to ascend they refused to go with there plan and ran away to the void then they got deacsended there or corrupted by the void ( i prefer that they deascended ).
i read before that the darkin's home got destroyed and went to runeterra if that is true then forget about what i said .
Nachtkriecher maybe she chooses not to climb the mountain again because she doesn’t want to be reunited with Kayle?
It seems to be moreso that Morgana and Kayle were both in line to become the next "Golden Warrior Queen," as this is probably referring to an ancestor of Kayle. I think it's implying that Morgana chose to side with the humans of Runeterra without answering to the gods/aspects or the Darkin. If you've played a Shin Megami Tensei game, she is the neutral character as opposed to Order (Kayle) and Chaos (Aatrox).
Actually morgana is the good one
Kayle is the crazy judicator bitch that have a disvirtued sense of justice
The Darkin were Targonians sent to fight the void.
The fact your head pokes out of the webcam is fucking cool
Maybe Aatrox's vessel and pre-ascention pantheon we're bros and somehow had a common adventure where one became a darkin and the other the aspect of war, also note that Aatrox have a big "raging warlord" theme, maybe the creation of an aspect also creates a darkin.
I wonder if key that Zoe's carrying has st together with it... i know that it's being said that Fiddle was carrying same key before (idk if that's true) but it would be really cool

Thijs no its cuse pantheon is the Aspec of War, Aatrox lives for war and feels betrayed cuse pantheon only protecs targon but dont start wars.
Eh maybe, that can be true I guess, still think he could be hinting at aurelion sol, but it’s probably that he hates the aspect of war who doesn’t cause war
Morgana is a darkin.
- She has heal
- Urgot has a quote against darkin and morgana when he kills them "i am all the weapon i need"
- morgana is a support and could be varus's sister because she is also drawn in a purple style
Morgana isn't a living weapon; all of the Darkin were sealed in their weapons when they fought against the Void.
Dojima i think it will get clear when she gets reworked
She, is an ascended; but as I said again, she isn't a living weapon; each of the current Darkin we know, are living weapons; if she was a Darkin, she would've been sealed away during the Darkin war along with Aatrox, Rhaast, and Varus as the known Darkin.
I wasn’t really going along with the targon and darkin connection until I noticed the blade shapes of aatrox’s and Kayle’s blades
My Aatrox speaks in Polish, don't see any issue with the accent lol
necrit what if aatrox wants to absorb swordmans like fiora and tryndamere, instead of changing bodies, like varus has both the speed and the accuracy of both valmar and kai, plus the darkin strength.
What if darkin are actually targoniana who were trapped and corrupted by the void left behind in a past war with pantheons leadership. Which is why he hates them cuz they were left. Basically maybe this explains aatrox questionung if he was ever really fully corrupted
Read the lore.
I'm doing a marathon on necrit's videos because it's been 4 months since i last watch his videos. Been busy with school stuff
I think some of the Pantheon interactions are possibly hinting at a future Pantheon rework. With that they could add more depth in the relationship between him and Aatrox, and have his oddly specific interactions make more sense.
Is she an aspect...
Nahhhhh
Nahhhhhhhhhh
Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
*it's rework time*
maybe zoe gave the shurimans the tools to be able to achieve ascension which gave them the power to trap the darkin
Good one !
zoe is not the gold queen, the gold queen is setaka
Marine Pineaud he did not say zoe is the gold queen
i dont think the teemo quote was aimed at yordles in the lore, but instead aimed at teemo and his playstyle in top lane.
He is mad but he realy THINK to have a Noble propose in his acts...
Well this just got me super excited for the lore and future videos
