I really love tears of the kingdom. I'm absolutely addicted to it. But Ocarina and Twilight have some of that darkness that TOTK sadly couldn't replicate. Maybe next time...
The saddest thing about TOTK Ganondorf is that as much as he talks shit before his fight, he's still the one who shows the most respect towards Link out of all Ganondorfs.
He might have respected his Link the most, but it's stated that OoT Ganondorf straight up feared his Link. Better to be feared by your enemy than respected, in my opinion.
this version of Ganondorf is a warrior and seems to like to fight strong opponent. fun fact in the french vers. the voice actor of ganondorf is also voicing Kratos
I Absolutely Respect and Appreciate Ganondorf as One of THE Best of the Best Nintendo Villains There Is from *The Legend of Zelda* franchise! The Evil, Heartless, Bruteful, Merciless, Tyrannical and Dominant Incarnation of Demise from the *Skyward Sword* game! He's WAY Better and Much More Evil than Ridley from the *Metroid* franchise!
To be fair, ridley has completely wiped the population of many planets and has tried to use biological experiments made specifically to cause the extinction of a parasite to carry out intergalactic domination(multiple times). And he has fun while doing it.
i dont see the comparison, one is the main villain of the game and the other is a recurring boss fight with a personal connection to the hero. if you're gonna compare villains then ganondorf to mother brain is much more fair.

There is an Ocarina of time reference in Tears of the Kingdom's Ganondorf fight. The music you hear in the second phase of the Demon king ganondorf fight(21:24) is the same music you hear in the ganondorf boss fight in ocarina of time.(0:25)
Fun fact about Ganondorf in TotK: If you strike any of his gloom projectiles with the Master Sword, you can actually reflect them right back at Ganondorf and damage him.
Ganondorf's best quotes are most certainly from Tears of the Kingdom. "How disappointing... This world should be shrouded in darkness, not bathed in insufferable light. All these weak, peace-loving cowards running rampant... It would have been more...satisfying to overcome a worthy foe. Regardless... I will reshape this world as it was meant to be. I will crush any opposition. I will rule. That is what a king must do. Enjoy these final moments. I will be taking far more than your arm this time." These truly bring out his villainy. And display just how much of a wicked character he is. They're definitely worth remembering.
Sorry but "How disappointing... This world should be shrouded in darkness, not bathed in insufferable light. All these weak, peace-loving cowards running rampant..." that part of the quote is awfully cheesy.
I love that the health bar for Demon King Ganondorf never actually centers. It really shows that his power is absolutely wild. Also, I was legitimately expecting the health bar to go off the screen
With each Ganondorf fight. The developpers gets more creative. The ToTK felt like a real duel where Ganondorf can dodge and counter and erased for good your health bar if youre not careful
@@Ash_Wen-li yeah everyone knows that, but say, the previous Ganondorf wasn’t evil just because of that and had his people as a motivation (at least initially) this new Ganondorf on the other hand just wants do destroy everything/everyone.
My favorite has to be Totk because it feels the most like a fully fledged sword fight, and I really love the cutscenes in between, the music, and the weapon swaps. It all came together to make a very satisfying fight. Least favorite has to be Oot. It was good then, but as the Zelda series aged it was left in the dust.
I probably have an unpopolar opinion, but my favourite version of Ganondorf is the one in Hyrule warriors. A really majestic warrior king, two blades wielder, yeah it's pretty badass.

Guys something this game confirms is that everything we’ve ever seen in Zelda is the second coming of the demon king, ganondorf. We saw the first in skyward sword and his successor in totk. It’s my opinion that all other ganondorfs were this ones meticulously crafted phantoms, including ocarina of time. They were not only his attempts to break free but to learn of the fabled swordsman who was destined to defeat him.
@@thegamingbean953 I’ve changed this theory a lot since then but check out masterworks if you haven’t already, that definitely supports the conclusion that totks past is the actual founding which is a starting point.
I think Wind Waker is still the best in regards to the final fight. The backdrop, music, combat and Ganondorf's character all make it perfect in my opinion
Guys, am I the only one who felt sad about Wind Waker's Ganondorf? I don't know, I think with that Ganondorf, at least to a certain extent and on a character level, I couldn't help but empathize with him 😢
Ganondorf is a good man who keeps peace in Harule for 100 years. In order to prevent Link the true devil from doing havoc, he is ordered by Zelda to play along as the bad guy , producing the "red moon" to keep Link entertained and tries anything to stop Link.
Twilight ganondorf kills a Sage onscreen, after a failed execution then uses the sword that tried to kill him to fight That’s the most gangster shit I’ve ever seen in a game
I loved the tears of the kingdom fight but it just felt weird having another mindless beast be the final boss after the trailers and advertising hyping up Ganondorf so much. I feel like twilight princess still has the best final boss in the Zelda series. Fighting the traditional tennis battle, then dark beast Ganon where you go wolf and tear his insides, then a horseback fight against him and his phantoms, and ending it off with a sword duel to the death.
Its a parallel to zelda both sacrificing everything swallowing the secret stone for there goals it also explains totks logo of the 2 dragons also you do fight ganondorf lmao it was amazing got tp vibes but then we get the awesome dragon fight the spectacle was great
@@repingers9777 I know i just meant it would’ve been cool to have Ganondorf as the final phase rather than demon dragon . @whiteboyshuffle13 Tbf that's precisely what OOT Ganondorf does after losing his magic tennis battle with Link, where he uses the last of his power to transform into a feral boar demon. He just doesn't proclaim it explicitly like he does in ToTK lol
@@peveral4246 he’s not feral. You see he’s still fully conscious by initiating the pig Ganon transformation and even when you stab him through the head you see him speaking to link and the sages. It’s still Ganondorf in control, just a different form
@@ThePokeCaptain If you actually think about it. It's not out-of-character at all. And the reason why can easily be summed up by this phrase: Like Mother, like Son.
Ocarina of Time: Underestimated the chosen hero of legend and there by started the feud that would last for generations. Windwaker: Had enough and is willing to kill a child even if prolonging the fight means he will be doomed to drown with Hyrule Twilight Princess: Torn through war and only wishes to have one final duel. Tears of the Kingdom: A Conqueror whose hunger cannot be filled.
how many of you were playing against totk ganondorf fully expecting and second stage; warmed up the ol' palms between his transformation and promptly screamed like a child when his health bar decided to casually wander off the end of the screen.
He can at certain points. I've noticed that depending on the weapon he's carrying, he'll either swat it away with his hand or shield himself with his weapon.
I would have been more impressed by the elongated health bar if I wasn't already aware a Gleeok has more health than that second phase. (6500 vs 8000) Also TotK shows that, with every incarnation of Ganondorf, more and more of Demise is overtaking him, from his personality (starting out with more noble or tragic traits and becoming more straightforward evil over time) to his appearance. His Demon King form may as well be Demise in all but name.
Pretty sure the health bar stretching out was a direct foil to Calamity Ganon's health bar being cut in half before the fight (assuming the player did the Divine Beasts)
None of them are really difficult. TotK Ganon is pretty easy and it's easy to just spam arrows at him because he wont block them or anything. Demon Dragon is a non factor too
Ik I'm late but he is technically in everygame that includes the beast form Ganon, because of the way the timeline works, Ganondorf transforms into Ganon. Obviously yea its cus of a retcon, but you're right to say Ganondorf as a Gerudo only appeared in 4 mainline games
Twilight Princess will always be my favorite Final Battle. Four unique phases against the very Ganondorf the Hero of Twilight’s ancestor, the Hero of Time, fought. That just hits different for me 👊🏼 Bonus points for using the sword the sages used for his failed execution against Link. Edit: I know you fight the same Ganondorf in WW too. But TP makes it feel so much more personal. Not to mention he kills Midna before the 3rd phase.
I just noticed something: Ganondorf in Twilight Princess has the same voice clips from Smash Bros. Meanwhile, Tears of the Kingdom’s Ganondorf is voiced by Chrom/Ryoma.
@@crystalaluminaI feel like the next game is too soon to use Ganondorf again, but when we do get a new one, they should take his character in a new direction. Maybe have a version of the character who's actually kind of a decent guy at heart but is still unfortunate enough to be the vessel of Demise's curse, so he becomes evil over time rather than just starting off as a power hungry prick.
My favorite throughline in the games is how Ganondorf starts off thinking of Link as an annoyance not dealing with because he's "beneath" him, then a fly to be swatted quickly, then he realizes he's actually getting challenged and gets excited. Then when he actually realizes he's losing he gets desperate and turns himself into a monster out of pure spite.
Non-totk Ganondorf decided to because his surrogate mothers, the Twinrova, brainwashed him into thinking he had to invade Hyrule to give prosperity to the Gerudo. Totk Ganondorf just decided to be the average Paradox player
I also love that your video and game choices stayed true to your tktle. I initially wondered why you stopped with OOT Ganondorf and didn’t show the Ganon fight but then I remembered the title.
I've always loved that side angle of the camera prior to the boss fights in som games like link on the left and ganon on the right propper sets the tone
I've been a Zelda fan since the NES was new. My favorite iteration of the Ganon fight is still Twilight Princess. I still think that game is the best of the pre-BotW 3D formula, even if I think A Link to the Past is the best Zelda game.
No matter what timeline it is, no matter the game, Ganondorf will always leave a presence of evil that you will remember for as long as he lives. Also Matt Mercer really made Ganondorf sound like he truly wants to make Hyrule his and will go to any means necessary to do so.
I’m not sure what’s the scariest about totk ganondorf… the fact that his healthbar keeps on going and going for the second phase, the fact that ganondorf takes away 1 heart at a time, just so you can see him slowly draining your life while you try to hit him, the fact that ganondorf can go into BULLET TIME against link, or the fact that he isn’t mid suavemente 😢
they should’ve add that to the game over screen. Similarly to if you die to a yiga footsoldier by a direct hit from the windcleaver during the yiga hideout stealth mission.
That moment in Tears of the Kingdom when Ganondorf’s health bar just keeps going is one of my favorite moments in all of Zelda 😂. It caught me off guard when it happened, I was like ‘WHAT IN THE WORLD?!?!?’ lol
Ganondorf in TotK is my favorite final boss ever the whole fight is actually challenging and exciting and the things he does in the story is truly despicable making it all the more satisfying to beat him especially in one try and all of this makes him my favorite version of Ganondorf ever
As a OOT Zelda fan and fighting him through the various games by far the best is TOTK. It’s actually difficult and threatening and actually losing my Hylian shield half way through his 2nd phase really made me have an oh god moment. Oh and his transformation and health bar growth still gives me goosebumps. Absolutely epic fight against the demon king 😁❤️

I loved the Zelda faze, I was excited for totk thinking in the castle I would fight the mimic Zelda and was so disappointed when it turned into another god damn ganon clone, worst part of the game for me was the fact they ruined phantom ganon by putting them everywhere
Oot: Dead man’s volley
WW: Keeps blocking your attacks
TP: sword play
TotK: *copies Link’s moves and eventually goes super saiyan 3*
Nothing scared me more then the Ocarina of Time version of Ganondolf as a child😂😂 I swear OoT and MM were the most dark, scariest and saddest Zelda games of all time idk why but I’ve always felt the simple 3D graphics or sound effects made it scarier
I love how ganondorf always had the secret stone even if we have only seen reincarnations of him and not the original, all of them had it across time.
That's something I just noted, that each version has what almost looks like a secret stone!
@@DiamondSpider01 the forehead rock
None of those are secret stones they are just gemstones and the thing holding them is a crown
@@BrohamLincolnpanta-ct4ld yep but one they Aonuma could say that they were secret stones too and it could be true
You you guys are trying to retcon the secret stones in these stories? No. Unrelated.
The TOTK Ganondorf fight was incredible. Challenging yet fun, and the demon dragon stage was a nice breather from the first two
I really love tears of the kingdom.
Hail ganondorf
Why did you capitalize so many words
To be fair, ridley has completely wiped the population of many planets and has tried to use biological experiments made specifically to cause the extinction of a parasite to carry out intergalactic domination(multiple times). And he has fun while doing it.
@@p1nball729 Yeah, sorry, but I'm just not a fan of Ridley from the *Metroid* franchise. He kinda sucks to me.
i dont see the comparison, one is the main villain of the game and the other is a recurring boss fight with a personal connection to the hero. if you're gonna compare villains then ganondorf to mother brain is much more fair.
@@MSCDonkeyKong The Nintendo Villains I Absolutely Respect and Appreciate Throughout the Years are:

5. Wolf O'Donnell of Team Star Wolf (Star Fox franchise)
6. Black Shadow (F-Zero franchise)

I love how link and ganondorf just play ping pong back and forth in ocarina of time 😂
There is an Ocarina of time reference in Tears of the Kingdom's Ganondorf fight.
I will be taking far more than your arm this time."
These truly bring out his villainy. And display just how much of a wicked character he is. They're definitely worth remembering.
"Do not look away, you witness a king's revival... and the birth of his new world!"
“Was that the sword that seals the darkness? A weapon that shatters so easily against my power cannot save you from me.”
Allow me to show you, show you what was and will be again when i am restored.
Sorry but "How disappointing... This world should be shrouded in darkness, not bathed in insufferable light. All these weak, peace-loving cowards running rampant..." that part of the quote is awfully cheesy.
Literally the most generic piece of dialogue I could think of.
I love that the health bar for Demon King Ganondorf never actually centers. It really shows that his power is absolutely wild. Also, I was legitimately expecting the health bar to go off the screen
The Occarina showdown is still the most iconic Gabon fight. I remember hearing the organ as a kid and was like shits about to go down
This video has my favorite thumbnail ever.
Matthew SLAYED IT as Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom!!!
With each Ganondorf fight. The developpers gets more creative. The ToTK felt like a real duel where Ganondorf can dodge and counter and erased for good your health bar if youre not careful
TOTK Ganondorf's a huge improvement over Calamity Ganon. It feels a lot more personal.
True, but more character development would have been appreciated… like, why is he even evil?
@@ivanm8682Because he’s Ganondorf
@@ivanm8682he wants the power
@@ivanm8682 He's basically an incarnation of Demise's evil and lust for power
@@Ash_Wen-li yeah everyone knows that, but say, the previous Ganondorf wasn’t evil just because of that and had his people as a motivation (at least initially) this new Ganondorf on the other hand just wants do destroy everything/everyone.
My favorite has to be Totk because it feels the most like a fully fledged sword fight, and I really love the cutscenes in between, the music, and the weapon swaps. It all came together to make a very satisfying fight.
Least favorite has to be Oot. It was good then, but as the Zelda series aged it was left in the dust.
Wow it's very rare to see a zelda fan who acknowledges that OoT has aged on some aspects
Nah, Oot was better because fighting ganondorf meant something. Also, the final demon ganon fight is much better than the dark dragon phase 2 of totk.
@@crystalaluminaEspecially in his final boss who is lame as hell, Majora could absolutely never
I probably have an unpopolar opinion, but my favourite version of Ganondorf is the one in Hyrule warriors. A really majestic warrior king, two blades wielder, yeah it's pretty badass.
Actually I think that a pretty popular opinion
That design is pretty well liked plus it’s one of the few that reference Demise, with Ganondorf getting the badass mane and the waistcoat in addition to most of his weapons using similar aesthetics as Demise
@@gbaboy313 I didn't know, good to hear!
TOTK ganondorf is one of my favorite ganondorfs. It’s so cool that he tells you to fall or die during battle or say I’m barely getting started is awesome! He has a much cooler and scarier personality than the ganondorfs before him.
I’ll never forget that fearful feeling when Ganondorf did the bullet timing thing 😂😂😂
I was actually fucking juiced the first time. I knew right then and there that I was in for a much better fight than what Calamity Ganon had to offer.
I didnt realize how much improving your armor decreased damage in ToTk. Ganondorf killed me in 2-3 attacks and in the video you just eat his hits like candy
i know right? I had 3 star twilight princess set on and that drastically reduced teh damage and in turn made it less engaging
@@keslerjenkins9683I took off my upgraded barbarian armor and used what Link in this video was using because I thought it fit the best. It was all upgrade level 0 so I had to play real carefully as I did not want to see if I'd get deleted in one hit lol
I absolutely love the music that starts at 25:35 it’s so ominous and dark
Ganondorf is by far the best Nintendo Villian, his Design in TOTK especially during 2nd phase of his fight where he literally looks like his predecessor Demise is best Design wise
Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are a separate timeline, the events don't connect at all with the rest of the series
@@crystalalumina source: trust me
@@whyshouldi9786 Whats your source?
@@thegamingbean953 I’ve changed this theory a lot since then but check out masterworks if you haven’t already, that definitely supports the conclusion that totks past is the actual founding which is a starting point.
I think Wind Waker is still the best in regards to the final fight. The backdrop, music, combat and Ganondorf's character all make it perfect in my opinion
Also how the battle evolves and he adapts to your parrying and dodges Zelda’s arrows from behind
Twilight Princess ganondorf would like to have a word with you.
Guys, am I the only one who felt sad about Wind Waker's Ganondorf?
I don't know, I think with that Ganondorf, at least to a certain extent and on a character level, I couldn't help but empathize with him
😢
Ganondorf is a good man who keeps peace in Harule for 100 years. In order to prevent Link the true devil from doing havoc, he is ordered by Zelda to play along as the bad guy , producing the "red moon" to keep Link entertained and tries anything to stop Link.
Twilight ganondorf kills a Sage onscreen, after a failed execution then uses the sword that tried to kill him to fight
That’s the most gangster shit I’ve ever seen in a game

ganondorf feels like an underrated villain
It just seems a little out of character for Ganondorf to sacrifice his mind and very being to defeat link after only fighting him once. Tho I guess it is a different iteration than the one from ocarina so maybe I’m just nitpicking at his behavior haha.
His build for TotK was literally the exact same thing I used on my winning attempt against him
Watching this video, I realized Ganondorf’s in less Zelda games than I though 🤔
Hyrule Warriors definitely has my favorite Design for Ganondorf. TotK and Twilight Princess are close seconds and thirds.
Ocarina of Time: Underestimated the chosen hero of legend and there by started the feud that would last for generations.
Windwaker: Had enough and is willing to kill a child even if prolonging the fight means he will be doomed to drown with Hyrule
Twilight Princess: Torn through war and only wishes to have one final duel.
Tears of the Kingdom: A Conqueror whose hunger cannot be filled.
All these years and he never thought of growing a stache with the beard
how many of you were playing against totk ganondorf fully expecting and second stage; warmed up the ol' palms between his transformation and promptly screamed like a child when his health bar decided to casually wander off the end of the screen.
I wish TotK Ganondorf would block arrows so you HAVE to rely on parrying because it's so easy to cheese the fight with Gibdo arrows and a good bow.
He can at certain points. I've noticed that depending on the weapon he's carrying, he'll either swat it away with his hand or shield himself with his weapon.
Guys stop parrying him just flurry rush
I would have been more impressed by the elongated health bar if I wasn't already aware a Gleeok has more health than that second phase. (6500 vs 8000) Also TotK shows that, with every incarnation of Ganondorf, more and more of Demise is overtaking him, from his personality (starting out with more noble or tragic traits and becoming more straightforward evil over time) to his appearance. His Demon King form may as well be Demise in all but name.
If this is building up to something, which I hope it is, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Hylia.
@@wildfire9280 it isint bruh😂 this isn't xenoblade
Pretty sure the health bar stretching out was a direct foil to Calamity Ganon's health bar being cut in half before the fight (assuming the player did the Divine Beasts)
Combine the fight and design of TOTK, the atmosphere and music from TP, and the story of WW and you have the perfect fight
Totk ganondaorf has to be my favor because it’s the only one that’s a challenge and I love his design
None of them are really difficult. TotK Ganon is pretty easy and it's easy to just spam arrows at him because he wont block them or anything. Demon Dragon is a non factor too
Totk ganondorf is really easy if you eat attack up food and fused the master sword with the lynel horns
Never knew that wind waker turned 20 and ngl, I like the design from TP and TotK
Someone made a silly comment about Ganondorf being in too many games.... my guy has only been in 3 main line games before TOTK
Ik I'm late but he is technically in everygame that includes the beast form Ganon, because of the way the timeline works, Ganondorf transforms into Ganon. Obviously yea its cus of a retcon, but you're right to say Ganondorf as a Gerudo only appeared in 4 mainline games
I don't know how a DM who voices a cyborg cowboy can make such a good Ganondorf, but he does it perfectly.
I just noticed something:
Ganondorf in Twilight Princess has the same voice clips from Smash Bros.
Meanwhile, Tears of the Kingdom’s Ganondorf is voiced by Chrom/Ryoma.
In Brawl and Smash 4, they used the Twilight Princess Ganondorf. This was changed in Ultimate, as they used the OoT Ganondorf instead.
Every Zelda game has specific voice actors for it's version of the characters and that voice sticks with that version of the character
@@crystalalumina So does that mean Chrom/Ryoma's gonna stick with Ganondorf?
@@GMKGoji01 probably, if they ever use him again that is
@@crystalaluminaI feel like the next game is too soon to use Ganondorf again, but when we do get a new one, they should take his character in a new direction.
I fought ganondorf in totk all ready to kick his butt at pingpong and suddenly he flurry rushes me.
Seriously though, why did Ganondorf decide to be the biggest middle finger to all of Hyrule?
Non-totk Ganondorf decided to because his surrogate mothers, the Twinrova, brainwashed him into thinking he had to invade Hyrule to give prosperity to the Gerudo.
Totk Ganondorf just decided to be the average Paradox player
@@daniellagos8584 i thought he always was the incarnation of demise, the evil deity of chaos and all the other dark stuff of the zelda universe?
Because he is Ganon
I also love that your video and game choices stayed true to your tktle. I initially wondered why you stopped with OOT Ganondorf and didn’t show the Ganon fight but then I remembered the title.
For the buildup: OoT
For the actual fight: TP
I've always loved that side angle of the camera prior to the boss fights in som games like link on the left and ganon on the right propper sets the tone
I've been a Zelda fan since the NES was new. My favorite iteration of the Ganon fight is still Twilight Princess. I still think that game is the best of the pre-BotW 3D formula, even if I think A Link to the Past is the best Zelda game.
that fight and Ganondorf from Wind waker 👌
I swear when I saw ganondorf’s health bar keep going I thought the game was broken
No matter what timeline it is, no matter the game, Ganondorf will always leave a presence of evil that you will remember for as long as he lives.
Also Matt Mercer really made Ganondorf sound like he truly wants to make Hyrule his and will go to any means necessary to do so.
I’m not sure what’s the scariest about totk ganondorf… the fact that his healthbar keeps on going and going for the second phase, the fact that ganondorf takes away 1 heart at a time, just so you can see him slowly draining your life while you try to hit him, the fact that ganondorf can go into BULLET TIME against link, or the fact that he isn’t mid suavemente 😢
the final battle in totk almost felt like a real Zelda game
Demon King Ganondorf: "Pathetic"
they should’ve add that to the game over screen.
“too weak!”
“too obvious!”
-Ganondorf when swiping his arm to block arrows.
Ganondorf in TotK is my favorite final boss ever the whole fight is actually challenging and exciting and the things he does in the story is truly despicable making it all the more satisfying to beat him especially in one try and all of this makes him my favorite version of Ganondorf ever
Twilight Princess has the best Ganondorf!!
I use to love beating this dud up back when I was a kid this video so old school still the best even to this day it bring me back
Love him so much! Best videogame villain ever!
That just makes me want Wind waker on the switch even more now, and where is the dragon phase of the Tears of the kingdom battle?
As a OOT Zelda fan and fighting him through the various games by far the best is TOTK. It’s actually difficult and threatening and actually losing my Hylian shield half way through his 2nd phase really made me have an oh god moment. Oh and his transformation and health bar growth still gives me goosebumps. Absolutely epic fight against the demon king 😁❤️
Ganondorf is One of my favorite Zelda Characters!👍
the way ganondorf punches zelda in the wind waker always makes me laugh, it’s just so goofy looking
Twilight princess still has the best ganon fight overall the best bosses from any zelda game to
Fun Fact: If you play the earliest versions of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the N64 hardware which are NTSC 1.0 and NTSC 1.1 Ganondorf will cough up red blood when you defeat him
