My mate lived in Laos, so I went to visit him 12 years ago. It was so beautiful, we rode mopeds from Vientiane to Vang Vieng . There wasn’t much of a road, a lot was dirt - but my god the beauty was like nothing I ever saw before. Laos people are so beautiful, I hope it is still the same. And Beer Laos for the win!
I love traveling by train. And first class in a train is usually only a little more expensive than second class, so worth the splurge. My favorite trip was my first time on the TGV high speed train in France which can get up to 320 kph/195 mph. Thanks for taking us along on your journey, Chai.
This train isnt HSR/Bullet Train bcs the speed train cant reach atleast 200kmph/125miles per hour. This train only reach maximum speed on 160kmph/100miles per hour. The first and one and only High Speed Railway / Bullet Train in South East Asia is Whoosh Bullet Train in Indonesia. The train speed reach 355kmph. You must try
What a fantastic experience travelling on the bullet train, plenty spacious, very comfortable looking and inexpensive considering it's first class. As for the landscape, well from start to finish soooo beautiful. How much was the hotel room? It looked very nice and the view from the balcony quite special. Really looking forward to the upcoming videos in Vang Vieng champs!! 🤩
Thanks Steven! Man the landscapes are so beautiful. Hopefully more people will come and visit as the people deserve more income. We paid 22usd for the room (we did get a free upgrade, probably because of the camera). I'm working on a Vang Vieng video right now :) Hopefully ready on Friday. Thanks again champ :D
Awesome video Chai & glad to see your girlfriend with you! We have never been to Laos and hope to be able to check it out sometime during our 3 months stay in Thailand 🇹🇭 Perhaps sometime around or before the end of our 60 days Visa free in the land of smiles! The speed train looks amazing & thanks for sharing this video with us😊
Aw thanks. It's always great when Noona and I can travel together 😊 If you do so, yes it's 40usd on arrival (actually 41) but some things are a bit more affordable here (like beer and wine). Also, don't forget to bring usd and baht as you get more for it than when you take cash out here in Laos. Just a little travel advice ;P Thanks again!
I wish I had got the train. I took a mini bus which took 3 hours longer each way than stated and was the most uncomfortable ride imaginable. The roads are full of potholes. I’ll definitely take a train next time. It looks amazing.
Man, 3 hours longer than stated 😅 That doesn't sound like fun. It should normally be a journey of 6 hours, I believe. Train is a great alternative. Thanks for watching!
So unbelievably beautiful nature 😍😍😭 thank you Chai and Noona. I was also wondering.. ( not related to Laos, but in general) Do you use medicine prevention for Malaria? Or does one not need it in SE Asia? Or where? It's so expensive😂 ❤
Thanks Veronica! We feel spoiled we can do all this but happy we're able to share our experiences. When it come to medical advice I have to say I can not give you good advice on this. We don't take any. It's not only expensive but the side effects can be pretty horrible too. We hardly hear people suffering from malaria. It's here, but not in major numbers and the risks are over all small. With this been said I wouln't like to make the choice for you as there is always a risk. My mom will come over to continue the search for my roots in Indonesia and I recommend her not to take it. I hope this is helpful :)
@@Chai_Travel Oh thank you so much ❤️ I know you can't make advice like this, but it's very useful to us to hear what you do and feel. And I do get what you mean. And what you would advice your mom, I feel I can take as advice too. ❤️🙏 I did not know of any side effects either 😱 no one told us. So thank you again 🙏❤️
@@Chai_Travel and yes!!! You are so lucky to get to go to those places 😍😍👏 love it! We are leaving tomorrow, landing in BKK on Friday, then 12 hours of waiting there, until flight to PP at evening. Can't wait!! 😍😍😍
Nice! That’s so exciting! Have the best time and if there’s anything I possibly can do just ask :) maybe in a new comment as I sometimes miss “reply” comments 😅 there are sometimes so many. Have a beautiful day ❤️
There is a new highway from Vientianne to Vang Vieng. The journey only takes 2 hours. The train journey is not necessary for this route. From Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang the train is an advantage as the road here is not that good.
That highway was also bulid and run by a Chinese company. According to the plan, that highway will extend to the Laos-China border in the end, maybe many yeas later.
Would be nice if you have just mentioned something else rather than those people are poor, earning low income etc... Perhaps compare when you were 10 years ago and now!!!
I hate so much all these kind of new trains in Asia. It kills all the charms of travelling in Asia by train. Yes old trains are very slow but they are far less cold, in terms of aircon but also about the people. Yes new trains are faster but who cares ? personnaly if I want to go fast I take the plane. No need a train.
@@Chai_Travel I guess that's a matter of preference but hate is the real word because I know that with time all old trains will disappear as they did in my country. All landscape looks so better with an open window and my face in the wind than in a comfortable train cabin totally separated from the outside, like in a different world. The same goes with the road, better ride an old 125 than do a trip in a big SUV with tainted windows.
This one made me jealous. Laos looks amazing. What a view from that room. Hope you guys have fun!
Aw man, before you know it you’re here 😃 that little town is so beautifully located. Thanks Will! Have the best day 🤟🏼

Built by China, looks modern n slick!
The scenery looks breathtaking mate
Look beautiful! Your videos should be longer 30 minutes, I like watch your videos weekly!
Thanks! I see what I can do :)

Beautiful video! 🎉 🚊 🇱🇦
Thanks for watching again :)
Was too busy for us Vang vieng too many tourists but so beautiful place 😍 xx
Yeah I think it can get very busy. This time of the year it's a bit of a ghost town.
Very good
Thanks!
amazing.
Thank you! Cheers!
162 is not fast for a modern train. But not bad for Laos...
I go routinely 230 km/h on normal trains here in Austria.
Spot on me boy 😎👌
Thanks!

I reckon it still 2 times faster :)

Fantastic move to go first class. Standard Class looked awful and packed.
Haha Standard class is still pretty comfortable in my opinion :)
Its a Beautiful but Poor Country and needs more Tourists. 🙏
Thats right Gert. Thanks for watching again
People are poor because the government is corrupt.
Chai travel...kapan ke indonesia.😂😂😂😂..
Soon again :)
Was family guy still playing in every bar/shop when you arrived in Vang Vieng 😂
😝 nope. Friends 😂

Sorry if this video in anyway have wasted your time 🙏
China now owns Lao lock stock and barrel.
Yeah, the other way I'm afraid
super fast and even supersonic ??
come on,trains in Europe drive at that speed last half of century
it is just ordinary modern train
