If you ask me brother, you are living the dream life. You look so happy, calm, clean minded and so in peace with yourself. I am making a huge amount of money here in Canada but I also have one of the highest cost of living in the world so I am left with nothing at the end of the month, I wont even have a good enough retirement to stay in the country if it continue like that. I can't work online and I don't have enough investment to just leave the country without a salary but seeing you like this just give me the strength to find a way to earn money online and quit Canada for good and travel the world as a nomad. I mean why not right, I would rather make less money but live a peaceful life than making more money but living a stressful life.
You still don't know truly about Laos. You are foreigner there. LAO PEOPLE THINK EVERY FOREIGNERS ARE RICH. The true is not every foreigners there are rich. Lao people treat you good because you bring money to them. Right now he is visiting. He stays only for short time. Well, when he live long time there you will see true color of people there. Oh one more thing please don't be get serious illness or sick there, when you go to see Lao doctors or nurse. They are going to ask you first question is Do you have money? If you say yes, I do. They make you pay first, then doctor or nurse will take care of you. If you say no. The doctor or nurse are going to let you suffer or die like there. They don't look at you at all. I'm so glad I stumbled upon your videos from Laos. We are going back in January after almost 8 years. It is our favorite SE Asian country. I love that you immerse yourself in the local vibe and don't spend a lot of time on site seeing. It would really be great if, as you walk around the town, you can map your walk. Then we'd know just where in the town you are. So my suggestion is, show a map , say of Luang Prabang, in the beginning of your video with your walking route, so we can follow it. A great example of doing this is Unseen Thailand in Chiang Mai. He does a super job and viewers can get so much more out of what they see in the video. Thanks for considering the suggestion. I stayed in a nice apartments in Vientian with elevator ,close to restaurant and street food.. 180$ a month with house keepers they also do ur laundry for 2$..

Retire & Go Bro, I retired from US to Thailand 10 months ago. Laem Mae Phim is currently my home base. I've visited Phrom Penh, Cambodia (too busy for me) for 2 weeks just recently and looking for my next trip.
I need that Hilo feel. Luang Prabang will be my next trip next month. Mahalo.
You are living the life
You are an inspiration!
Wow. I loved your video.not many make vlogs about retirement in Laos. Thanks for a very nice video.
Laos is the secret of Asia

I sure hope to get back to Whistler for some snowboarding someday
I am retired from the States (now back in Singapore) due to the pandemic. But i took a stress free job in Singapore to pass time. Your video teaches me how to retire in another 3 yrs time. Thank you so much !

True. I'm doing the same thing. Also, guys staring at phones while the women work. I see it each and every day. Stay safe, new sub.
Have a great week :-)
All the best to you
9:46 what are you talking about??? I bought camry 2011 in 2014, was paid in full for 14k. No payments, insurance 200 in 6 month! Owning for 10 years now. Depreciation is 7k. New tires, 2 batteries, lambda sensor, oil change 1500. So 14+7+1,5+4(insurance) equal 26.5. Divide by 10 equal 2650. Divide by 12 equal 220$ a month!!!
Nice buy !
Great job on that :-)
I stayed in a nice apartments in Vientian with elevator ,close to restaurant and street food.. 180$ a month with house keepers they also do ur laundry for 2$..
$180 a month !!!
Amazing
I really wanna learn what you're doing I appreciate this video
Absolutely
I will show everything I can
Please let me know questions
Good on you. Totally on the same pages. I have been to bali and was blown away by the low cost culture and freedom (lack of bullshit rules). Slow travel through Asia and south America seems like a legitimate version of retirement to me.
Bali was fun and i found low cost hotels !
Cheap monthly stays
Thank You for the great video and sharing your experience. Everything you said is so true. I am an engineer in STL and make 6 figs a yr. with a 500k home and in 5 years I will sell it all and do the same thing you are doing. I was never married and never had any kids, just perusing the American dream and living very well here in the states and as of Jan 2024 I believe my future is to tour and live in SE Asia before I am 60. Thank You again for your video !
You are on your way !
I’m excited for you
You may like the Philippines
Might even meet a great partner there !
Usually those drivers are the salt of the earth. At the Pushkar camel fair the driver slept in the car. We gave him a good tip. Smart, let the investments compound and live frugally.
They are so kind I agree
My driver asked if I wanted to sleep during the day because we were traveling to the mountains for like 8 hours a day !
So nice
I bought him food everywhere
Thanks for the Information. Good video.🎉🎉🎉
You are most welcome :-)
Have a good day
Great informative video thank you. You’re very likeable. 😊
You are most welcome
That looks so nice there. Thanks for sharing.
You are most welcome
I hope you are having a good week
We spend about $2,000 a month just for 3 cars not including mortgage, food and other costs here in South Cal. South East Asia is where we should be retiring, no brainer.
I agree with you :-)
Yes. Really reminds me of of Big Island - Hilo side. Thank you!
Yes it does haha
A cool small town feel to it
Good video 🏴👍
Thank you
Have a great week
Thank you sir for your video and your suggestions. I wish to move to Laos and start thinking of this move.🙏
I think you will enjoy it
Have you visited it yet?
Not yet sir
Sir I am a dark skinned Indian but with a white heart. Do you think they (lao ladies) would like me? I think they all like only westerners.
Luang Prabang is magical. :)
It really is
A nice destination and I will return
I agree...i was born in VTE and went to the US when i was 12 years old living in Florida for 20 years and now Sydney for 24 years now retired early and thinking the same as you....
Australia sounds very cool
I want to visit there
In neighboring Thailand for 9 years now, have been to Savannakhet and Vientiane for Visa trips years ago but certainly Luang Prabang is high on my list to visit. It does remind me a bit of Savannakhet wiith the general slow pace and friendly locals.
True
A rustic feel to it
Chill locals for sure
Thanks, for a great video. Enjoy every moment. Cheers 🥂
You are most welcome :-)
Have a great week
Glad I found your channel. I live in Texas, have a municipal job make over six figures and I feel like im living paycheck to paycheck. Work over 60 hours a week just to exist. Cost of living here is rediculous. I dont know how young people starting their careeers make it month to month.
I totally understand
It is very tough
The cost in Hawaii, my home state, is so high !
Aloha from Ewa Beach, great vlog !!!!! I have been to Bali many times, and Phuket is on a wish list. I never considered living in Laos or Cambodia . Great eye opener ...... but I need a little surf action....
Aloha to you :-)
Yes I’m still looking for the one final location but I’ll be in Asia generally
North of Phuket. Phuket is most expensive of all, but if you got the Xtra $ ,go for it. Lived there for a year, but in 09, and visited in 17 last.
Thanks, for sharing my home land😍
You are most welcome
I enjoyed these travels
Awesome video bro
Love that you have added the prices. ❤
Cheers from 2 Canadians 🇨🇦 living in Mexico 🇲🇽✌️
All the best to you and have a great weekend
Spent the last month in laos, very lovely
It’s a nice destination for sure
Laos is Beautiful country..Thank you so much sir
You are most welcome
I really enjoyed my stay in Laos
I follow a couple of SE Asia expats and came across your video.
Great and simple production!
I'm subscribed.
Saw you're from Hawaii. What's crazy is the Big Island works out less expensive than San Diego...but not even close to Asia.
Look fwd to watching your library.
The big island is a secret haha
Low cost land
I’m thinking of just buying an acre and holding it
Thoughts?
@@RetireandGocan't go wrong, but of course the only affordable area is Hilo side, and then there's the active volcano 😮. Just make sure about the super increase in property taxes coming on strong, everywhere in the US. Somebody has to pay for the national debt and others college tuition, immigration etc. But it's great to have somewhere in the US to fall back on giving the world situation and you're always a visitor that can be told to leave. Undeveloped land that you can camp on while building, so the taxes are the lowest. 🤙
looks nice ,secure and clean...
Laid was a really nice place to travel to
Thank you you are speak the truest, I’m 💯 % agree with you , I hope u are enjoy my beautiful hometown of Laungphabang
It’s a beautiful place
I will return again
What a tremendous video. You are truly an inspiration. Going through exactly what you dealt with in your home state. I am have been planning for a while to do exactly what you are doing. Is not a coincidence that I came upon your video. You have another subscriber. Infinite Blessings!!!!! ✌️♥️🙏
Welcome !
I hope you are inspired to travel and live a life of peace and lower costs
All the best to you :-)
Hi my name is Kenny living in USA and I think to go over there, thank you for excellent video
Kenny, I hope you do go and I think you will really enjoy yourself
New sub! Agree! Worked 40 years, ready for SEA
Very nice ! You deserve it
You have earned it !
Hi, I subscribed to your channel. I am surprised you stated you sold your motorcycle in Hawaii but I haven't seen you riding one in Asia?
Good point
One time I did rent one in Thailand
It was a harrowing experience haha
I use feet now mostly :-)
Hello! I’m just curious if you remember if that guesthouse you stayed in had a discounted monthly rate and also if the WiFi was as adequate (I just need decent WiFi for Netflix, watching TH-cam, etc.) Thanks!
I did not check but you can negotiate
Keep us updated
I lived in Hawaii and retired from there. Moved and live an excellent life now. Hawaii is so high cost of living and so much cars and noise all day long. I take trips every yearball over the united states.
It’s so pricey now
Not feasible for retirement
Wow what a gorgeous place looks heavenly ❤
Laos is lovely
Low cost as well
