I was able to show my Dad the 1st class who equally was blown away on how poor the UK train service is compared to China. Brilliant video with your parent’s emotions.

You've beautiful parents. They look like lovely folks. And your dad is right, the UK (and most of the West for that matter) have got their priorities wrong. I work for a British enterprise outside of the UK and the amount of wastage and wrong priorities is painful. It costs a fortune and a lot of people to do stuff that could be done better at a fraction of the price.
Just for giggles I checked the price for a one way ticket between Paddington (London) and Bristol (About 112 miles) Leaving 13.00 on a Monday, booked 2+ weeks in advance. Best price £42 (EACH!) First Class £75.50 (Not even CLOSE to the same Standard)
Touch woods, if there's a train accident, the chance of survival are higher than flight. A good option for people fear of height or flying. One can enjoy outside scenery during a train ride. Seniors and children can always walk around and stretch inside a train. Many washroom available, no air pressure pain inside the ear, no turbulence
The train platforms, themselves, not to mention the entire stations, in Shanghai and Hangzhou are massive~ I can't believe around $30 USD would grant me access to both the lounge in the station (where I would have eaten multiples of each snack) and then such spacious seats on the bullet train. Even in the US, it will take years to complete a proposed high speed rail project aimed at connecting Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Though not a bullet train, I just looked up what happened to the once highly--hyped Hyperloop Project which attempted to massively speed up travel between Los Angeles and San Francisco. I found out that both the project shut down, and the company behind it filed for bankruptcy at the end of last year! I think we, Americans, also need our spending priorities corrected~

I have been there. The station actually has a special entrance to the business class lounge. Seems like you missed it. I was mostly impressed by a dedicated uniformed staff walking us to the platform entrance, which greatly reduced travel stress.
Nothing is better than making your love ones happy. My In-laws would never appreciate trying new things especially Chinese food. Nice to see your parents enjoying themselves.

Great video! I just took a train from Windsor back to London. Was so confused about everything. Sat on the train and the door would close open close open . Had no idea when it would move 😂 not used to it compared to trains in china haha

It's really so good to see more British or Westerners travel to China, HK, and Asia to raise their horizons!!!😎 I did the same in the past as my family would travel to China during Chinese New Year even my Mandarin is not native and I don't really get use to the foods or the culture etc., also my mum's couldn't really understand much Madarin but we the whole family still manage to make the trips and now I'm still doing it to meet different people and get to know their cultures in the UK as well 🤔 When I saw u, a British youtuber also could take your parents to China that amazingly, then I think sometimes it's not really the language barrier but the heart🤭 If u are always open heart to accept new things, so nothing would really be a problem to resist u doing it 🥳

There is no way america or uk or france or Europe can compete with china infrastructure. They are at a very high speed in technology. Bravo.
calif has been working on building (ONE - 1) hsr train for 20 years and 30 billion dollars and cannot get it built - duh !!!!)
