I have been researching dash cams way too long (trying to find a good combo of the features I need and quality), so this is super helpful!
If you can afford it-the Viofo T130 is the way to go. If not, they just brought out a new Duo system I ll be posting a review of later this week. If your on a budget, the 119 is the one to get.
Looks like another good inexpensive dash cam.
I had been researching dash cams for about three weeks prior to watching your other review on the Viofo T130 and decided to try it. After four months I have had zero issues with it. Been a great three channel dash cam. 👍
I recommend getting a dual-channel that provides a video of the inside your vehicle. It also MUST be able to pivot & rotate so that you can record a police interaction in case your ever pulled over.
Viofo T130 I reviewed few weeks back is perfect for cop watchers. For average person, depending on budget, one or two channel is sufficient.

Nope, I don't like the black out on the right of the screen (OCD), but it is not in my truck. 😉 I love the polarizing filter.

Why do you installed behind the rearview mirror instead of below the rearview mirror?
I bought myself another dash cam. It's the Vantrue Element 1. I have had it for like 2 months and I haven't installed it. It's still in the box. Same Sony Starvis sensor as well as a polarizer that came with it. The issue I have with this camera, like mine, is that it has not INTERNAL camera. The picture quality is great, I agree. But during a traffic stop, I would also want to have video of inside the cabin as well. Cops like to make shit up like "you weren't wearing your seatbelt." Cabin view cams have a way of putting that BS to sleep.
Hello, in this case we'd advise you to install a 3 channel dashcam or a dashcam covering front&interior :)

I got a dash cam from Amazon and it was great EXCEPT for the sound vibrations picked up by the microphone while driving drowned out all conversation in the car.

I've heard it's not good for the internal electronics of dash cams like this one to have it directly plugged in permanently to the vehicle. Some users prefer to have it plugged in to an external power source like a portable battery pack. Any thoughts?
If you hardwire a dash cam it will use parking mode which will pull power and drain your cars battery while the car is off. This is why an external battery is good to install so you don’t prematurely kill your cars battery.

I have the A119. the biggest disadvantage is you can't turn it around to record the inside of the cabin.. in the advent of being pulled over and possibly searched. Other thing is the audio recording is pretty poor.
You should note that in some states placement on the windshield can get you stopped by the cops
That's why you hide it up as close to the rear view mirror as you can that helps

You should move the camera into a better spot you have a blind spot on the right.

Bought one for a family member. They are sending it back because, while the video looks great, the software makes the dash cam virtually unusable.

i think that len cover makes everything worse at night. Cant see a letter on the rego plates in your night footage

Well, I watched the whole darn thing and you didn’t say a word about the WiFi or use with the app. I ran into a brick wall. The phone informed me, in a bright red screen, that I couldn’t use Android Auto with it and the WiFi didn’t connect. I don’t know if I can surmount this. Also, I tried to bring up the Menu but every time I pressed the appropriate button it snapped a picture.
The manual lists several Modes but then it doesn’t say HOW you switch modes. Stuck.
Finally, it comes with to Static Cling pads but it appears that the unit has a sticky pad pre-installed so what to do?
