Very good overview. I give it an A-. It goes over a couple things poorly explained in the manual. Deciding on a windshield location might be covered. At least for learning purposes I want it close by but once I know it I might locate it some distance away and use voice commands. I will remove it every time because I park in the hot Sun and my last A119 was ruined by the heat.
Probably going to buy this. I'm wondering why the static sticker is more than twice the size of the dash cam. Can I cut it in half and still stick the dash cam to it?
It is better not to cut it as this size has been tested by engineers. It is the most suitable size for installing the camera fixedly. If you cut it in half, the contact area between the camera and the windshield may be too small to stick tightly.
@@VIOFO-CS Thank you. That makes sense, I thought that might be the reason. There are some very good reviews on this dash cam. I bought two earlier today :)
@@VIOFO-CS I think you misunderstood the question. You can see that, beginning at 5:00, the sticker is much larger than the dashcam. If you cut the sticker to match the size of the dashcam, it would still have full contact with the dashcam. People see no need for all of the extra width of your sticker, other than to capture dust. If there is a good reason, please advise.
I do not get the point of the static cling pad. If it is holding solely by static, it is not a very strong bond. I did as instructed and the cam came off the windshield as I was manipulating it. Likewise, I was confused as to why the static pads were so big also.
Just bought it and installed it into my car. Can tell- best dashcam i've ever had! Just one question for the ones who operated the dashcam already: If you press the emergency button, which video will be saved? The last minute? the current loop? I can't find anything about it. Thanks in advance!
For example, the loop recording you set is three minutes. If you press the lock button at 2:55 (during the last 15 seconds of this section), the camera will lock the current section and the next 3-minute sections. If you lock the video before 0:15, the current section and the last 3-minute sections will be locked. We hope we've made that clear to you.
@@hx.925, the camera keeps recording without interruption and only the current video will be locked. If you press again, it will just lock one more video.
My Viofo camera became blurred after 2 years of use. Support said that nothing can fix it. More affordable alternatives are widely available on the market. Do not waste your money on this product.
What model of cellphone do you use? If you are using an iPhone, please disable the VIOFO app from accessing cellular data on your phone, or set your phone to airplane mode. If you use an Android phone, please disable the VPN on your phone and open the VPN in the app.
I have this and i must say i am not happy with video quality! Night video is very, very grainy. To the point that it looks like video from very cheap dash camera. Too much noise on video. Any idea why?

My firmware wont update. Every time I try, it acts like it's updating, but then the same stock firmware from September is still on there. Trying to update to V1.0_20231116
Please try to upload the firmware from our official website to update again. There is a network error before, so the firmware download might be 0912. But it is correct now. Please make sure do not rename the file when you copy it to your card.
1) can the wifi password be changed? my old (MiVue J85) camera came with a fixed "password" that was not possible to be changed - practically anyone could erase all my dashcam videos in about 30 seconds or less if they had the official app already downloaded (they fixed this "feature" in a later firmware update). 2) can the image stamp be changed to also show accelerometer (G-Sensor) real-time values next to the GPS info on the recorded images? If there is not enough space on the text stamp line then please turn off the Camera Model stamp and/or the custom text stamp to make room for the G-Sensor stamp.
1. The wifi password can be changed in the settings. 2. What do you mean by G-sensor stamp? There are only GPS information stamps (speed time+coordinate) and camera model stamps shown in the video.
about (2): thats exactly my point - the camera seems to not allow to record the accelerometer data as text stamps on image, even if it actually uses the accelerometer to detect shocks/collisions. I think it would be simple to allow printing the same X,Y,Z variable values that are used for shock detection as text on the recorded image, would it not?
The camera itself has a wifi and you can get a live view in the VIOFO app on your phone after connecting to it. But there is a limitation in distance and you can only connect to the wifi within its range.
Yes, you can set time in the Screen Saver to make the display to be turned off after 1 Second / 3 Seconds / 15 Seconds / 30 Seconds / 1 Minute / 3 Minutes.
The screen is turned black due to the screen saver, you can change the time in the settings. To keep the screen on all the time, please open a ticket to get the special firmware.
How do you power the camera? Please use the original car charger and plug it into your cigarette lighter to test. Also, please update the latest firmware to have a try.
So, I got the newer version, the Viofo 119 Mini 2, and I have 3 issues that I cannot resolve with this version: 1) it will connect to wi-fi but without an internet connection. 2) when I stop the video recording, it gives me the 2 chirp indicator - constantly - and will not stop chirping. 3) when I long press the menu, it’s supposed to turn off the camera, but it does not. I have to physically unplug this thing. It’s time to get a different brand. 😢 P.S. the Viofo app is truly terrible. I can see why it’s rated 2.5
1. The camera wifi is not real internet and it is just a channel to accessthe camera settings and recorded videos by your phone, so it will show No Internet Connection. 2.Yes, it will keep beeing to notify you that the camera stops recording as designed. 3. Long press the menu button can turn it off unless the camera gets stuck now.

I just recently tried one of these, and while the capture quality was impressive, it had two glaring drawbacks. When I turned on the Wi-Fi, it disconnected my Android Auto - NOT cool, man. And no suction cup mount, just the 2 static pads. I prefer having the windshield suction cup mounts. Returned it for a refund. Too bad, as I really liked it, but given that it kills my Android Auto, it doesn’t meet my requirements.
Adhesive mounts offer better stability and vibration reduction since they adhere directly to the surface. This minimizes shaking and movement while driving. In the event of a car crash, suction cup mounts can accidentally detach, resulting in significant inconvenience. That is why we use adhesive pads instead of suction cups. Regarding the wifi, there is no need to connect to it when you do not need to playback the footage or change settings in the APP actually.
@@brendandax I have to agree, I like the two sided tape mount better. Those suction mounts shake, drop the cam lower and just look goofy. My cam from 7 years ago still firmly attached and never fell off yet.

We need video clips to analyze if your camera lens is defective now.
Did you fail to remove the protective film off of the lens?
Why do you stick the camera on that clear sticker and not directly on the windshield?
makes it easier to remove eventually without dealing with adhesive residue on the glass
It adheres better as well when using the clear mounting decal.
