Very happy to know that your better half is from our state and she is our "Telugu Aadapaduchu". Very delighted to hear some 'telugu' phrases. Pongal is too good.
Very happy to know Madam is Telugu. Muneeswara is very popular God in Chittoor District and the names like Munnemma,Muniswamy are prevalent in these areas.
What a delightful session of Pooja and Prasada. Kuppam is actually the centre of a Triangle formed out of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamilnadu in yes of culture and diaspora. In a way this get together was a culmination of Telugu and Kannada phrases and of course Tamil dialogues spoken All at the same time. All in all a very satisfying episode. Looked like we were in the days of the Vijayanagara Empire where Kannada and Telugu were spoken with equal aplomb and respect. Long live Kripal-Sree, Long Live Kannada-Telugu Saamipyam.
Shridevi madam is looking very beautiful in saree and tradition of pongal even more soothing. Food is appealing and inviting. Special thanks to Sree mam for video.
Oh Wowww.. Welcome to Andhra Pradesh sir.. My Hometown is very near to Kuppam.. Glad to know that mam is from Andhra Pradesh n u r Andhra Alludu(Mappillai)..
What a lovely tradition to wait for the Ladies to finish eating first and to get blessings from them. They are often the unsung heroines in our society! Thanks to you & your wife for sharing this family function with us! The best pongal that I have eaten were at temples in Tamil Nadu where they give it in that Yale Donne (Cups made with leaves).
Wow.. Nice to know .. Sri maam is telugu speaking 😌😌😊🙏 the ritual that they did for ladies is called 'hoovilya' in kannada and 'poovidam' in telugu.. 👏😊😌👍✋👌
Its called "Mangali Pondugal" in tamil - In this function, married females of the family run the functions, food is served first to them, they are given the precedence in all formalities, this is done everytime we have some major function - Respect. Sree mam must have been known to these already
We also do this particular muthaidepuja called as huvillya . Both traditions are there giving food or only thambulam .I think this is called ootada huvillya.

Love India, food and its lovely people. Wish you both a Happy Pongal. Stay Blessed.
Very pleased to see old traditions and customs still intact in south India considering we are all modernizing and aping western practices in rest of India..Good practices from everyone should be adopted but our original traditions must be followed.
