@@DarkTruth1 Nah I came to say the same thing. He's probably guilty if he was offering everything at half market value. But his nod at the beginning could've just been a nod to indicate he understands. As far as not ripping a card, there's no shot I would've ripped a potentially $130 card just because someone says to. Like, if the rip test is negative, would the vender pay for the lost value?

I know when my son was in elementary school I personally didn't know the values of Pokemon cards until my son's bus driver and the school principal called me to apologize and let me know he was trading some older kids on the bus on his way home and the bus driver overheard the kids whispering how my son had better cards then them and if they act like theirs are better they could steal his by "TRADE", she called the police, the principal, me, the kids parents, they had to meet us in the principals office after the bus had just dropped them off and they had to give them all back and apologize before they were both expelled for doing it repeatedly to younger kids. I asked my wife why they didn't and she said each card has a different value so they gave him garbage cards and took all his expensive ones. I said "No more Pokemon at school!" 😂

I agree. They did nothing wrong. They were learning and didn't know if he knew what he was talking about. A lot of people don't realize the guy's at the booths aren't always innocent 😂
They be trying to tell people like this guy and the kid it's fake on video then chasing them down in the parking lot "Aye yo let me get another look real quick! My bad bro! My buddy said I was wrong I can pay full price or trade!" Or they say it's fake then be like "But I'll take it off yours hands for like $20" just because they know it's real and know the kid and dad are new to collecting. It goes both ways so the vendor shouldn't act so innocent 😇
His kind are more shady, that is why they are there to begin with! To sell cards for more and get over on people that don't know any better 😂
But to not know 100% it's a fake and then bash a dad and his kid and also not blur the minors face seems kind crazy to me!

I tried selling fake Pokemon cards to a dealer one time, unknowingly, of course. My son and I were into buying and collecting Pokemon cards, and he came home one day and had a few rainbow rares he said he traded for some other things. I thought it was strange, because they looked expensive. Even though we had a few cards, I had no idea what Pokemon cards were worth. I had seen a fake Pokemon card before, but it was easy to tell. It was just a sticker over a cheap card. These, seemed legit, at least to my untrained eyes. Long story short, took them to a dealer, and he gave me a dirty look, and asked if that was all I had. I explained that I had other cards, but these were the only ones I thought might be worth something. He then told me they were all fake. I was shocked and embarrassed. I apologized many times, and explained how I got the cards. I explained that I didn't know they made convincing fakes like this. He then showed me the real cards of the fakes ones I had, and they were completely different. The biggest difference, was the texture. Mine, were rainbow, and not textured. Holding the real and fakes ones next to each other, you could easily tell the difference. Lesson learned.

It’s because years of evolution have honed your ability to sense danger/ predator which translates into “bad vibe feelings” from certain situations, and that’s why. Your intuition is able to sense things that you may not otherwise notice, specifically underhanded dealings like this. And if you listen, especially when BOTH of you feel the same bad vibes way about that person, and in this case, for both of you, your intuition is telling you to beware for a reason. If that dude was truly outraged and had no idea it was fake, he would have ripped that card. We all know it.

The way he acts BEFORE you found out the last one was a fake.. kinda sells him out, he doesnt seem until there really worried about not being able to sell a card. Probably thought "this two young vendors will probably fall".. im not worried about him not ripping it off in front of you, im worried about other people that might fall for it.
I would have probably asked nicely, to explain why you think its fake, right at the start..
I have worked a lot with all kind of people from my city, and I can sadly say that most people lie. And with things that could make them earn a easy money a lot more lies will come..

In my localized experience, there are two primary reactions to genuinely learning a card in one's collection is fake.
Either "(Expletive)... Really?" followed by vocalizations of disappointment visible embarrassment/frustration, followed by profuse millennial apologies"
    or
"(Expletive) no, no no no... No please no. Are you sure? Ohh (expletive) reallyyyyy? C'mon mannnnn (Expletive) ...God...(Expletive)....(Expletive) I'm gonna kill (Person who gave them card) followed by visible anger/indignation, a slamming of the binder shut, and a storming out the door. (A little performative, sometimes. the scammers do this too.)
    with a third being
"Well I don't know anything about the Yugli-ohs and Pokimans, my grandson (angry quote fingers) "yeeted" his iPad through my television after I turned off his SkibiTy Toilet so he's paying for a new set."
For my fellow body language and micro expression dunning-kreugerists, slow the footage down as slow as it can go at 1:15 and just watch that cascade of "oh (expletive)" just rain down his face.

I've sold alot of comics, toys, records, video games in the last 5 years with maybe a handful of problems but in the last 2 weeks I was flooded with scammers, chargebackers, and someone even bought a heavy team rocket pack, claimed it was open before hand and sent back the pack with clearly heavy played cards replaced out. BWAHAHAAHA this gets me every time I hear it... this logic is so hilarious! How can you lack such awareness saying this? Okay just imagine youre in his shoes and he doesnt believe you... Like you show us the whole interaction, we see it wasnt a huge attempt on your part to do more in anyway... You know you could have at least offered $200 if the card ended up being real after ripping it... still doesnt prove the point because if he doesnt know hes still not just gonna rip his freaking card... but it would have at least looked better in your favor than this interaction. The mouth is all it takes, if you noticed something..when you agreed to or be open to "trade" he was all for it, but then his shoulders lowered very slightly when he realized he wouldn't be able to do anything. As well as how hard he was staring you down for saying that, the other give away is I'm assuming that's his son, can't look you in the eye for longer than half a second, dead giveaway. Anyone that's innocent (In my experience) while disappointed, would 100% ask you to look at the other cards so they don't get lied to again, they didn't just wanted to try to make a deal. Also a huge thing when it comes to hearing it's a fake card, only someone who knows it's fake wouldn't rip the card to test it.

Sry for a stupid question,i dont no anything about trading cards but im a fan on thiefs get caught. But my question is: Shoundt be fair to both parts to clip that card apart so it stop be on a market so no one can be scammed? If they want another opinion they can ask other vendors and if they also say its fake. Ex. They can have a system on this events that if a fake cards appear "scammers" should have the opportunity to ask like 3 other vendors and if the majority says its fake, they then cut the card and destroy it? Sure u can argue the scammers can bride the other vendors but in the long run they also cant explain why they always clear fake cards. Hope you understand my question and sry for my bad English gramma. The point im also making here is that the good thing to do is to destroy the card after the vendors opinions. And no scammers want have the eyes on you for everyone to know you holding on a fake card and continue be on the the event? If this "morale rule" is genuin on all card trade events it will be better and safer for everyone and the consequences is much higher for exposure for this scammers. ❤

If I bought an expensive card, you said it was fake, then I would need to ask a couple of other people before deciding to destroy it. You are the professional in this scenario, but even pros can be wrong as we all know.
