About this "Show Base Stat" setting: I wished SO many times in SO many games for a setting/feature similar to this, because i could never really tell directly, if that new +0 weapon would theoretically be better than my current +3 weapon if i upgrade it to +3, too...
Actually I used the option to show the stats of the weapon based on my skills and attributes but when I was choosing weapons for my companions it became a hassle, since it still shows the stats for YOU when you are in a Companion screen. You see a weapon that seems to be nice and when you select for your Companion, it's bad. Because of that I changed back to the default configuration.
The game is amazing, and I really like how much you can interact with your companions. They're so realistic here, and always have their own opinion about things and places we visit. Plus they didn't repeating the same lines over and over again.
this is one of the reasons i couldn’t stop playing, the game never made me feel alone not once. It felt so real and alive like a movie unfolding not knowing but waiting for what happens next.
Only a few tips needed. Follow your nose. Click on the journal. Click on the side quests. Go to the green arrows, complete the task. Talk to everyone with a name. Shoot everyone with a red arrow and red sight cursor. Keep your equipment in good working order. Tech an stealth skills a must unless you are playing a tank. Never play a tank unless you want perks due to faults. I think that is about it. Also Obsidian has been on top of the cheats posted on TH-cam so they don't work anymore (like infinite money). The most honest game I've ever played but stealing, lying and backstabbing is encouraged. You can get at least a 100 hours out of the game (at least on a console) if you do the side quests. It's also the easiest way to level up your character. I tried for a sniper build but found side kicks to act as tanks in front of your ranged character seems to works best (side kick experience boost and side kick critical hit helps). Not sure but their equipment doesn't seem to wear out so buff them with good stuff all you want. They don't die except in nova which to me explains that smart choice is to never ever play a tank and let them take all the licks. They never complain. Also sidekicks have quests associated with them so if you are trying to squeeze more experience points this is useful. This is also how I learned how to use the disguise that was confusing until sidekick quest came up.
Not quite. On the surface it feels really good. But the more I played it, the more I realized what's going on under the hood just isn't meeting the expectation I have for these kinds of games. It fakes it really well. I can see potential in the franchise. But despite everyone's current fanboy outrage over FO76, Bethesda does this sort of thing the best. They know how to make these open world games correctly. And frankly, they're still the best at it.

Note, I haven't played The Outer Worlds yet - it's downloading - so I have no opinion on it yet, but I have played and enjoyed the Fallout games except for Fallout76 which I haven't played yet. Whilst I enjoyed the Fallout games, they do have many flaws.
I've been searching for a true guide for The Outer Worlds that went into detail about the features of the game and not just general tips. So THANK YOU for pumping out such a great series of videos so early in the release of the game. This is the time that it is needed most & you deserve a lot of recognition for being one of the best resources so far. I subbed the channel just for this reason and I look forward to more from Fextralife.
I love the story and the humor so far. Dudes bleeding out and still giving me a corporate marketing pitch. The RPG mechanics are amazing and exactly how i imagined a new and unique improved system based on New Vegas. I only have some technical issues and one concerning not being able to remove helmets from companions, but it's such a minor issue that it doesn't bother me to much. I love the graphics and guns designs
They really aren't much of a big deal and can easily be overcome...unless of course you permanently crippled yourself like concussions or crippled limb that severely hinder you. My favorite flaws were food addiction cause my character has a real sweet tooth, fear of mantisaurs and fear of heights. There really is nothing wrong with flaws cause I think I find it fun for a roleplaying aspect just be careful you don't pick one that as I mentioned that involves with crippled injuries then you're really gonna get annoyed

That was usually my criteria for stealing shit on xanax... what was funny was when i got busted and put on house arrest, while waiting in the office with several other people, ALL of us was in there after committing an offense on xanax lol

Had a question about the emergency medical inhaler - how do you add consumables to it (in addition to the standard adreno) when you unlock the slots with increasing medical skill?
Select a consumable on the consumable screen and press "Equip" it will fill one of the void spaces on the inhaler. If that consumable ends, it will automatically refill with another of the same kind.
Hopefully someone can help me. 1st playthrough no problems. Start the 2nd game and suddenly health bag doesn't come up so I start over again. This time I'm only on Edgewater and it stops. What the heck am I doing that I didn't do in the 1st game.
I feel bad about pick pocketing tho.... Honestly I feel bad about alot of the stuff this game wants me to do. Even in game I can't sacrifice morals even tho they aren't real people in the slightest.
It's been decades since I played a FPS game and I'm trying this. I've noticed that it appears that FPS is cheaper to develop than TPS. You don't need to account much for colliding, cover mechanics and camera algorithms. I think this game appears to be on a budget sometimes. Maybe they thought about doing TPS and decided going to FPS as a budget decision.
how do i sneak attack every enemy i crouch up to doesnt have any indicator im sneak attack or does it just do extra damage automatically if your undetected

Tevin Slippy I stumbled into a very OP thief sniper conversationalist build. Put my stuff into Int and charm and a tiny bump in perception, tagged guns and diplomacy and then pumped up stealth skills immediately. Haven’t had much trouble in combat, thieving, or conversations. Been a lot of fun so far! Playing on Hard.

The QOL polish is one of my favorite aspects of this game.

And then you need items (ID cartridges), which are found in the world, to provide the appropriate disguise.
